As soon as Liddie had confirmed what the badge said his wings drooped a little, he probably wasn’t going to get away with saying he had someone waiting for him.. He turned to see if he could see Clara behind him still near the door and yep, she was there, holding her phone and a tissue watching them. He wondered why she didn’t come over but his train of thought was interrupted by Officer Bullman’s voice, the nickname Iniko was now mentally referring to Milano with.

He shook his head, his ears flapping either side of his brightly coloured head, no parents or guardians.. The next question Officer Bullman asked Iniko simply shrugged, “Old people sometimes give me candies.” He said nonchalantly, “Umm.. That counts?” He paused for a moment before continuing, “‘Cides, It’s always been just me” He shrugged as if he was bored of this conversation and looked over at Liddie as she spoke up again.

He hadn’t quite followed the thread of the conversation, “Wait…” He stared at her looking a little confused, “You wanna come with me??” He sounded more shocked that someone was suddenly saying they *wanted* him around; usually he was chased off by now not fed, then the fact he was about to be moved on again. He was used to being chased off and was just assuming he’d be pushed out of the library and told not to come back. He stared at her as he tried to understand what was happening, why would she wanna live outside on the streets, when she lived in here with all the books?
He looked plum confused.

She was afraid of all of this that was happening. This is why she didn't have friends. OOOOOOOOOOO - she was steamed. "It isn't fair!" She slammed her hands on the table as she sort of growled/yelled out her words. She knew the officer was going to come to that decision regardless of how Iniko answered him. Old people gave him treats and he'd always been on his own. Based off of that you would think that he would let the boy stay with his new friend.

Who seemed really baffled that she wanted to go with him or for Iniko to stay. I mean, what was so strange about that? He was the second strangest thing she ever met in the library. She nodded at him, tears starting to swell in those big red eyes of hers as she wanted to stay with him.

"He has no family or people! He belongs here! He's like me! I-I should be with him! He'll be scared..I'LL BE SCARED!"

Liddie replied, trying not to cry as she threw her arms around Iniko, sobbing, unsure of what to do. She would definitely run away with him since the officer said she couldn't go with him. She didn't give two shakes of a lamb's tail of care about Clara right now. Clara wasn't like her. She was...normal. Iniko and herself were definitely NOT normal. "We need to be together..he'd have a life like mine if you would just let him stay!!"

Milano just sighed as he listened to Lydia but she seemed set on being troublesome. She they both clung to each other he looked toward Clara for some help. “Maybe I should leave you three alone for a bit? “ he motioned to Lydia as she was Clara’s daughter and the women would be able to pull her away so he could do his job.

As distracted as he was it took him a bit before he realize the brightly colored pixie was trying ti drag the elf with him toward the exit. Muttering he made a grab for both or one of them.

Clara was too slow to react to Iniko’s movement. By the time Officer Milano had lunged after the darting kids she was only just scrambling to move, having not expected that reaction at all, “Hey~” She yelled out fruitlessly, trying to understand what she’d done wrong...

The officer had narrowly missed catching Iniko, maybe his shortness was good for something after all. He fluttered his wings quickly hoping it would give him a speed boost, his mind solely on reaching an exit.

Iniko managed to reach the closest exit, but alas he was too short to reach the door handle!

It seemed like both the adults were way too slow - HAH! She and Iniko made it to the door and she saw he was a tad too short so she gently pushed him aside and jumped up just enough to catch the handle and turned it. She held on to the handle and it would be up to her or Iniko to pry the door open the rest of the way. She was on her tippy toes, starting to pull when she looked at Iniko and said - "HURRY!" She replied, hoping he'd help her pull the pretty darn heavy door open.

Since this was the dining area, they had to have big thick windows and doors to keep the possibly noisy chatter out, right? Uggghhh..

Either way, she just wanted to be free. For the first time in her life, she knew what she wanted to do. They could take care of themselves! She felt more feral than anything else and the fact that the bull officer said she couldn't go with Iniko and he might not come back? NO! She wanted her new friend. She didn't always feel welcome in the library, even though she lived a pretty cushy life until now.

Aaaaannnndd the little girl was already helping him escape. Milano move just a bit faster but when he put his hand down on the glass he had been in such a hurry to get there before they escape that he might have gone a little to fast. There was a crack as he slammed head first into the glass door, his horns poking all the way through but the rest of the glass was cracked and bulging outward as it had been mixed in a way with plastic to make it less shatter proof. "Ow...oh now..." he muttered and tried to pull his head back up his horns were stuck.

Iniko whirled around, not at the sound of the breaking glass, but because when Liddie stopped moving he was brought to a half. Nothing seemed to shatter completely though.. Yet.. He tugged at her hand he was still holding, “Come on, we gotta go! His got his horns stuck in the glass..” Iniko giggled at the sight, from this angle he couldn’t see the bulge of the window but he could see Officer Bullman’s horns. Iniko had found his predicament quite amusing.

He took a couple steps away and looked over his shoulder. Where was the exit here? How had they even gotten here? He wasn’t sure but he didn’t feel like letting go of her hand either, he knew he’d get lost in this big place.

“Oh dear..” Clara rushed to try to help the Officer, “Hold on… I think you might need to stoop down a little.. Let me just.. Oh dear.. I fear you may need to pull..”
