I was in CAP. Then I quit. We got a new cadet commander, and he is absolutely insane, all he does and knows is PT. So what did we do? PT. And my homework load is insane this year. I've heard from my friends that our squadron's attendency rate dropped dramatically since he started.
He was a jerk.
Some people cant lead, and are muscle heads. I like my cadet commander right now, and hope the next one will be as good.

Exactly. He was a really good Sgt. and 1st Sgt. but not a good Commander.

My chief is kinda a jerk. But he can be really nice. He knows what he is doing that's for sure. I dont think ill be quitting any time soon I'm having a really good time and I'm learning a lot.

Im a cadet airman basic right now. I passed my curry test, now i need to do the first module, PT, and promo board.

Cheifs have to be tough, so dont think he is just being an a**. Dont worry, promo boards are easy for early ranks.

you need the 101 card to participate in search and rescue activities. Ask about it your next meeting.

We were voted best squadron in the region for 2006.

Hey, just wanted to introduce myself here. I am a Cadet Captain, soon to be Maj (ie end of January). I am the Assitant Director of Cadet Programs for my Wing, the Chairman of my Regions CAC, and my Region's assistant Rep to National CAC. I love CAP. I have been in for upwards of 5 years now. I am also an encampment junkie and am in the process of planning my fifth, where I will mostly likely serve as Cadet Commander. Ya'll should come to our encampment... it will be small but awesome xd .

Ok that done, I have do comment in response to a statement made earlier. 101 cards are not a wing thing. It is a Nation-wide CAP basic search and rescue certification card. The 101 is a little wallet-size card that lists your vitals -- name, rank, serial number, weight, specialties, hair and eye color -- that you will have to present in the unlikely event that you are ever called on to be an Emergency Services Lackey. Basically it says you really are trained and qualified, and there for able, to be at the Emergency.
