Demyx's eyes widened as the flour seemingly lifted off the surfaces, and dumped into the garbage.
"How did...."
He tilted his head, spoon still in his mouth, and looked around the much cleaner kitchen.
"That was so cool!!"

Kaleb blushed a little, glancing at the oven more for a place to look than to check on the cookies. "I-it was just a shield spell picking up the flour, b-but I can't use it to get the flour off us..." He turned and smiled sheepishly, some flour falling out of his hair as to emphasize his stuttered words.

Dem flicked an ear, sending some flour into the air.
"But water could, right? Which means I can get it off us!"
The sitarist grinned, forming a bubble between his paws as a demonstration.

Kaleb nodded, "That would work, but then we'd be all wet." He frowned a bit as he thought. "I've got enough towels, and I'm sure outside is warm enough to dry us off in no time, but we've only got a bit more time before the cookies are ready..."
He scratched at his head, which was almost comical with the flour cloud making another appearance.

Demyx snickered as the cloud appeared again. Hopefully they wouldn't start sneezing though.
"Maybe we should just eat the cookies and clean up later?"
Of course, the sitarist would think of eatting the cookies first. Though, honestly, being covered in powder wasn't really bothering him anyway.

"We could do that," Kaleb said with a smile, turning on the oven light to check on the cookies. They had spread out quite a bit, but luckily they hadn't melted and gotten all stuck together like they did sometimes.
He pulled out a couple wire cooling racks from the cuboard where he had found the baking tray and set them on the counter for later. "Or we could wait until the cookies are done, and then go get cleaned up while they cool down enough to eat." Kaleb knew from experience that the hardest part of baking cookies was waiting to eat them.

"We could do that too!"
Honestly it didn't matter what order it happened in, so long as he got cleaned up and ate some cookies Demyx would be happy. The sitarist skittered over to the oven, peeking in at the cookies with Kaleb.
"mmm they look good!"

"They do," Kaleb agreed, cracking open the stove door a bit to get a better look at them. It also let out a rush of warm air, and the scent of nearly-finished cookies.
The timer went off suddenly, and the oven door slipped through a startled Kaleb's flour-covered paws. It slammed shut with a loud bang, and the scrawny healer ended up on his butt in a small cloud of flour.
"I-I guess they are ready," He said with a smile, scrambling to his feet and going after his oven mitts again.

Demyx sniffed happily, enjoying the smell of baking cookies. As the other fell to the floor Demyx rushed to help him, looking at Kaleb worriedly.
"You okay?!"
But the healer got up and went back to work with the cookies, so Demyx breathed a sigh of relief.
"I guess so too..."

Once the hot tray was out of the oven, and all the delicious smelling cookies were laid out on the cooling racks, he smiled at Demyx. "So how are we going to go about cleaning ourselves up?"

Demyx had watched Kaleb closely as the cookies were removed, for once his full attention on something. Once they were all out, green eyes turned back to Kaleb.
"Well, we could go outside and I could use the water to wash us off. Since I can control it, I can pull it back off too, so we wouldn't be soaked afterwards..."

Kaleb blinked, fascinated. He would have liked to see that level of control over water even if he hadn't needed to get clean. "Wow, that must make washing dishes real easy," he muttered thoughtfully.
He led the way back to the front door, stepping outside and immediately feeling way too hot under the bright sun. He glanced back to see if Demyx had followed, thinking maybe their necessary "shower" would be rather refreshing.

Demyx skittered outside with the healer, ears flattening a bit as heat once again started getting to him.
"Erf...is it always this hot?"
Eager to cool off, Demyx quickly summoned up two water bubbles, floating one over each of them. Once in place, he let them drop, effectively soaking the two of them.

Kaleb shuddered a bit in surprise, the cool water would have been refreshing on any given summer day, but in this heat it was almost shocking. He took off his glasses and brushed the wet bangs off his forehead.
"Can you control the temperature of the water?" Kaleb asked curiously, blinking drops of water off his eyelashes.

Despite the temperature difference, Demyx seemed to be quite at home.
"I can, but it's easier to do it with like...bodies of water, than it is the little bubbles. Dunno why, it just is..."
