He shook his head and laughed ; "Not at all! I've had stronger wode-tea!" he looked over at her and nodded - "Actually we've not known each other very long. We met on the way here. A hunter, I think, she aims well and her arrows never sin. I was fortunate to have her with me lest that foul being might've put up a better fight - rare it is that one as strong as him would be found so far from a troop. These are indeed strange times." he looked at the weapon, and then gripped his axe in both hands, "Well hammer, this is axe!"

"Ha, I haven't used an axe in many a year not since I was a boy. With the wisdom and scars I've gained from the years I prefer to smash my enemies rather than cleave them of their limbs. Makes a much more pleasant sight to see ones enemy flailing a sack of skin and broken bone that was once an arm. Nothing beats the faint slap of a pathetic creature trying to defend when it is reduced to flaps" He said stiffling his laughter. "Where might you two be headed?"

Walking back a soft shimmering light caught her eye. Turning her head she peered into the dark corner of the temple, but the light seemed to have disappeared ...hmmm...I am sure I saw something she mumbled to herself and carefully walked into the direction of the now gone light. Tuning her senses she could hear a soft scraping and she stopped dead in her tracks.

As if noticing by pure instinct alone, Baowulf rose grasping his hammer as he did, raising it to rest on his shoulder. He turned slowly "What is it you sense lass?" he asked briskly.

Morvegil yelled over to his comrade ; "GWEN!! You should come over here and introduce yourself, I think. I've not the words to describe you. And I need to clean my axe." with the latter words spoken he sat down on the outside steps and started sweeping the blood off his axe with a handful of grass, the blood squelching between the blades of grass and soaking his heavy leather glove. He had obviously paid no heed to the commotion.

Taking of her bow and drawing one of her arrows, she tilted her head, listening more intense. Closing her eyes an image started to form in her mind. The scraping becoming more intense and the realization hit her, she yelled a warning...Cabauglar!!

No sooner had he cleansed his axe, when he heard the yell of his friend. He immediately lept up the stairs and gripped his axe in both hands - "Point me to the quarry, I've heads to rend!" he yelled, as though the bugs could be frightened by men.

Drawing his hammer to attack position, Baowulf raised himself to full height and prepared for battle. "Ah my favourite thing of the day, the 1st fight to the death always so invigerating" he said with a slight chuckle.

Morvegil rushed into the fray, but stopped upon the threshold of the archway leading to the room that the insectoid was in. He spat at it and tormented it with some words of peril ; "Your hard shell cannot stand agains the might of our weapons, monster! I'll make crockery out of you!" he spoke as he shouldered Gwen lightly to get her behind his hardier body.

Knowing she didn't stand a chance against the insect until it's hard shell was broken, Gwen nodded at Morvegil and Baowulf and moved back...Be sure to take it out, you hear? her voice filled with loathing as she saw it crawl out of what she thought to be the creature's breeding place...She did hope she was wrong and waited for a chance to sneak past it to make sure.

"Foul beast! How dare you desecrate this holy temple with your presence. I call on the ancient powers of the old gods to guide my hammer and break you into pieces!" Baowulfs voice boomed like thunder in the once quiet ruins of the temple, shaking the old rotten building to its foundations. "Aye laddie lets see if you fight as well as you boast." he cried as he lunged toward the beast.

Morvegil charged the beasts flank, complimenting Baowulf's previous attack. Reducing the insectoid's health to 150 from it's total. He leapt back gripping his axe in both hands ready for the next attack.
