After getting herself a cup of hot cider and drinking it half-way down, Autumn was ready and raring to get back into the swing of the festival! There were still plenty of things left for her to try before the night was through! She bounced along the path, her tail flopping this way and that, and stopped at the exact same game she'd played before when she won the plushie. She couldn't help but want to play and see if she couldn't win another one! After all, plushies needed companions just like she did, right?
"Ah! I won, I won!" She cheered, jumping into the air. "I want one of the big Vespercats, please! They're grumpy, but I'm sure I can cheer them up!"
She squealed when she was handed her prize and scurried to the side in order to snuggle it properly. However, to her surprise, a pair of deer antlers poked her from underneath the plushie's arm, which she quickly affixed to her head. Hopefully they looked cute on her!
The pair of artists were now back on the hunt for the ever so elusive face painting booth that they wanted to visit. It was so odd to think that they couldn't find it, even asking people seemed to do little good for their cause! Or, maybe the people they were asking just didn't hear them. Either way, it was getting to be more than just a little frustrating for Milo to handle! Where was this silly booth supposed to be? They should've made a map!
"Oooh, those look good, Coco!" He chimed, reaching into the bag for a peppermint. "Thanks for sharing! Do you want one of my candy canes? I got a whole bunch and I don't think I can eat them all!"
Well, there didn't seem to be too many ball-like objects around the festival for Holly to chew on, much to Melanie's dismay. The Fennekit herself was none the wiser to Melanie's attempts to find her a replacement toy for the chilly one she was currently enjoying and hopped around the Goblin's feet excitedly. What kind of energy did Holly run on? Pure sunshine and happiness? She was inclined to borrow some of it from her...
"Wow, little plants? I didn't think anything could grow without our kind of sunlight!" She said, examining the tiny plant for oddities. "Well, I guess I was wrong, you look very well taken care of little plant! I'll make sure you keep getting what you need when I get back to Grendel."
Somewhere along the timeline of The Mystery of the Timepiece, London had placed it down and decided never to pick it up again. It wasn't that the book had bored him or anything like that, it was because he found his two plant buddies more interesting to look at. He'd pulled them from his stocking and proceeded to fawn over them as though they were precious children. Anyone passing him by might have thought him crazy, or at least a little too involved, but he didn't care. These plants were under his care and he had an obligation to look after them to the best of his ability.
"Now, where did you come from?" He asked, his attention drawn to his side where another planter was sitting. He was pretty sure that this sweet little red potted plant hadn't been there when he sat down to read, nor had he seen it when he was rummaging in his stocking. Maybe someone had placed it there for him after seeing him preening the others? He beamed and scooped it up off the ground. If they had, he couldn't say thank you enough!
Eating the candy canes from the bottle game before had proven to be just what he needed for his headache, but he was still pretty hungry even after eating them. Where could he get something to eat around here that wasn't pure sugar? He wanted some noodles, bread, cheese, and meat! Everything here was just pure, unadulterated, sugary nonsense! He puffed out his cheeks and wiggled over to another booth.
"More of these shiny necklaces, huh? Alright." He said, perusing through the selection of colors that the booth had to offer. He didn't have very many yellow things back at the dorm, maybe it was time to expand his wardrobe? ... Nah, the likelihood of that happening was pretty slim, at least not anything too drastic.
He smiled toward the director of the booth as he took the necklace and allowed it to dangle from his hand as he walked back toward the academy. It was time to get some proper food at the cafeteria before he flopped over from starvation! He'd come back after he'd finished his meal.
Laurel was quite pleased about getting to keep the Fennekit that brought them candy canes, but decided to keep his internal celebrations where they belonged for now. Emma clearly wasn't as thrilled with yet another addition to the pile of familiars they already had and he really didn't want to make them angry. Instead, he resigned to holding tight to their hand and laughing as the Fennekit bounced about after them.
"Hey, Em! I bet I can win you a plushie from the game over here!" He chirped, pointing toward a fairly empty booth. "It's a super easy game! I won a ton of prizes from something like it last year!"
Well, that was a lie, but still! He was pretty good at bean bag toss! The pink haired demon threw his bean bags carefully and beamed when he'd sunk all three into the cups. Yes! Did he win a plushie for his best friend forever? He watched the man behind the counter carefully and bounced when he was handed a giant plushie and a bracelet.
Emma held tight to Laurel's hand as they walked along, their eyes never quite leaving the bouncing Fennekit. Despite what Laurel was thinking, they didn't really mind the newest addition. They were fluffy, playful, and good tempered, which made it difficult for them to dislike it. It kind of made them think about Laurel, actually. Both of them were cute and hard to say no to. The green demon made a pucker face.
"Oh, no you don't have t-" They stammered as Laurel tugged them to the booth. Why would Laurel want to win them a plushie? It would just sit on the floor and get all dirty! ... But if it was a gift from Laurel, they supposed they couldn't turn it down.
Or in this case, pick it up to begin with.
"Gosh! This thing is heavy!" They gasped, leaning toward Laurel so he could help carry it. "We should take our stuff back to the dorm now and introduce our familiars to their new home, before my arms get tired!"
- ( 11 ) - With the mug handed off, he took a seat on the same bench and proceeded to give a brief overview of his people. Fig explained some of their physical features, their wings, antennae, how each fey had a flower growing from their heart and how the different types needed to expose their flowers to sunlight or moonlight, depending on their type. He went on to explain their pacifistic nature, their closeness with plants, the friendship they enjoy with dryads, and their love of dance. He didn't go into anything too deep or heavy, the hesitance or lingering distrust over demons and elves, the issues faced during and after the war, fey courting, marriage, and romance, such topics that were too much for chatting about over a first meeting. "If you have any other questions, I'd be glad to answer them." He said with a nod.
While Cam played a game, he got derailed by pretty bags of peppermints. Tasty looking!

- ( 5 ) - A person was walking around with a perch of chattering toothy bird-like familiars. Cockatriels? That's what she overhead. They made funny sounds. Samira tried her hand at imitating them. A white, bluish, and golden one chattered back before dive bombing her suddenly. "Eep!" The hybrid girl squeaked as she ducked her head, shielding her face instinctively. When pain didn't follow, she relaxed her body and lowered her hands. The cockatriel sat perched upon her shoulder, just looking at her. "Uh..." Sami looked to the person who had the perch who by now noticed the flight of the familiar. "Well, kiddo, looks like you made a friend." They then went into a spiel of proper care and feeding before giving her a couple of treats to feed her new pet before departing about their merry way. She grabbed another bracelet while she waited and sat mulling over what to name her new little friend.
Then her caretaker FINALLY came back, looking utterly gobsmacked at the thoroughly decked out mutant hybrid girl, who simply bat her lashes up at them as if to say 'What? You took too long!'
- ( 7 ) - You know what's good? Spearmint candy floss! Heck yeah, that's delicious! A perfect little snack to pick at as she wandered around.
Arya ended up snagging a bag of candy to munch on later.

Nikora winked back at Hailey with a giggle. "Ooooo! Lets try some games along the way to finding out when they will be having the crystal tag then!" She said and bounced a bit then picked a booth at random. "That one works!" She said then lead them to it and ended up winning another plush.

"They do don't they? Oh well, means we'll have a lovely collection by the time this celebration is over." Shannon laughed. She smiled when Julie was surprised by the Kidden and then was pleasantly surprised when a staff who was passing by gave her a bag of candy.

It's all good <3
Michi decided it was a time for a quick candy break and he stopped by a booth giving away bags of it.
Quote:
...
There was a booth giving away free bags of candy and Caelan couldn't resist. He stopped by a Nixie also standing at the booth and took one.
This man was high. That was the only thing Sirius could assume at this point. He was either high, or drunk, or both, and he was about to punch this man right in the face. Wait, no. He promised Ava he'd behave. That, and, well, punching was wrong. That too. He was about to hiss out another award winning insult when suddenly, to his delight, the other man began to panic. A rare smile curled around his features before it abruptly dropped as he realized what exactly bothered the man.
A Flitterat.
He rolled his eyes, barely noticing someone drop a pile of candy into his stocking. Instead, he leaned against the wall, sneering at the other man.
"What, afraid of Flitterats?" He questioned, eyebrow raising. "It probably was attracted to the scent of your drink." He withheld his desire to add that it might be attracted to how much of an a*****e the other male was, instead deciding to be civil. For once.

She briefly noticed his tail before breaking out into a grin when someone handed her a lollipop. It wasn't long before she unwrapped it and began the consumption of said candy. What did she want to do? What did she want to d.... Oh! Suddenly, she grabbed Conan's paw, giving it a gentle tug.
"Pictures! There's a picture booth over there! Why don't we can some pictures together?" Pictures she'd probably glue into her notebook and hide in her binder. Probably. Most definitely.

Alice beamed when Aphe took the plant, brushing her hands off dramatically as if a load had been taken off her shoulders. When he shuffled to the table she trailed after, wiggling into a seat and beginning a generous topping of icing on her house. She, of course, did notice Aphe's new accessory, immediately letting out a tiny giggle as she pointed towards it.
"That's pretty~" She nearly jumped when the person running the booth offered her free cotton candy, immediately seizing it with one hand before awkwardly just sitting there, cotton candy in one hand and the icing pouch in another. How.... was she going to do this? Carefully.

Kadali's eyes followed where Leif pointed, head cocking to the side briefly before she flapped her wings in excitement. A beanbag tossing game? Oh! She had never played such a game! Her excitement took over as she tugged on one of Leif's claws, immediately escorting the two of them to the game. She was, briefly, interrupted as someone seemed to approach the little freshling, showing off a plethora of bracelets and prattling on about how they were handmade but not selling well, so he was handing them out to little kids. She didn't really listen, instead scooping up a bracelet and returning to tugging on Leif's claw until they reached the booth.
"Okay! Who goes first?!"

Lace beamed as he moved to hug her, immediately enveloping her boyfriend into a tight hug before stepping back to properly examine his new familiar. Her eyes flicked up as someone walked by, offering cups of cocoa. Ah! She snatched a cup, taking a tentative sip before returning to eye the new familiar.
"Cute~ What's their name?"

Chloe had been briefly distracted as someone from the booth she had worked at appeared, dropping some peppermint candy into her stocking and fleeing before Chloe could even introduce them to the Goblin she was speaking to. Her attention returned when a name was offered, face lighting into a soft smile before she accepted it and give it a firm shake.
"Chloe." She offered before releasing the hand and nodding towards the nearby booths. "Sure. I was on my way to the Pin a Beard to the Santa game. I heard they were giving out familiars."

Ella had focused on her own sock, adding bright purple hair and flaming red eyes. She had, originally, intended to make it look like her mother, but somewhere down the line she ended up with a psychotic pink sock that only she could find endearing. Quilo broke her from her concentration, glancing over before letting out a quick and amused giggle. It was cute! She held her own sock puppet up, careful to avoid removing the still drying accessories before gently tapping his puppet with hers.
"It's adorable!" And it was! Her eyes snapped up when an adult seemed to spot her, placing a plushie right into her lap. Oh. Well, now they matched. That, and her room had another small friend!
Still searching for her new friend, Bibi snagged a bag of peppermint candies for herself. Mmm, they were pretty good!

Drayden smiled as he came to a table with enchanted bulb necklaces among other things. They were pretty cute, so he bought one for himself in green. It suited his coloring, he thought, and added a bit more pop. As he slid the cord over his head, he headed for the Solstice tree, eager to look at all the lights and decorations. While he moved around the tree and admired the lights and wisps that adorned the tree, one of the glowing familiars seemed to be attracted to his necklace and flitted around it. Drayden chuckled as the little cutie perched on his shoulder. "Heh, guess you're sticking with me, huh?"

Zeta sighed as she made her way into the party. Ugh. So much color, and so many different races. All of them inferior, of course. Zeta took a stocking anyway as well as a bag of peppermint candies. She didn't want to be here. As in here at the party, at her new 'university', let alone in Below at all. But here is where she was. She'd been told not to stay stuck in her room, though she was sure her parents didn't mean for her to associate with so many non-Elves. And there were Grimm here. Her parents would be appalled.
Coco frowned as they tried to find the face painting booth. She grumbled a little, she really wanted to show it to Milo. Then she turned to him, as they shared their candy. She smiled brightly as he took some of the candy from her bag and then offered her some of his candy cane. "Yes please" Coco said cheerfully. "Thank you Milo" She said sweetly "I'm glad I met you Milo, I don't think I'd have come to the festival if I hadn't met you" she said shyly looking at her feet.

Was he amused? Of course he was amused, why wouldn't he be? It wasn't him that was stuck with some mysterious pest on him! Deskri's tail lashed in irritation as he turned to stare at Sirius. Oh, it looks could kill... Sirius would probably be cold on the ground, honestly.
"If you think it's so funny how about you take it." Without really giving him much of an opportunity to respond, he shifted close enough to literally set the rat on his shoulder (wow, he actually reached it?), and then backed up a few steps to sip his cocoa. "I have a vespercat, I can't keep it anyway." Not that.. the cat would eat it, honestly it was the laziest vespercat he'd ever seen in his life, but whatever. He still didn't want to have to maintain a cage for the pesky thing. He didn't have time for that. Or for this blue loser.
But apparently he did have time to grudgingly accept a glowing bulb necklace from a passerby who was handing them out. Well. He could always give it to Tengu or something. He liked nightlights.
Leif was going to accept a bracelet, but, well, Kadali was already pulling him off towards the beanbag toss again. Oh well. Once there, he stared at the instructions, squinting a little to get his eyes to focus... It was always a little hard to read things far away... "O-oh, um..." He was about to offer that she go first, but the attendant quite literally thrust a few beanbags into his claws.
Welp. Guess he was going first. Nervously, he lined himself up in front of the target and squinted a little... Okay... Where were the holes? Maybe if he... He tossed one of the bags, and completely missed the hole entirely. Okay. Well. Maybe up a little-- oh. Too far. Thankfully the third one made it in. The attendant seemed to feel a little bad for him though, so he was awarded a potted plant.
Oh. This was... oh. "Y-your turn Kadali." He stepped aside, cradling the pot carefully in his claws while he watched.
Aphelion blinked, coming out of his trance of concentration to look at whatever it was Alice was talking about... Oh. It was his... necklace? He picked it up and examine it for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, it is. It is pink, like you." He smiled a bit, then tilted his head as he noticed her struggle to work on her house while she held her new candyfloss. "Alice, would you like me to hold that for you?" He held a hand out, but it was quickly filled by... some other candy floss, and a plushtoy. Goodness. He carefully tucked the toy away and then shifted the floss to his other hand before offering the original one again. "I can finish my house when you are done with yours."
