"Ahh! Hey thanks!" Her face lit up. "It's a miniature Peppermint!" She laughed, pocketing it. "Actually I'm not down at all, just frustrated..." She let her voice set into a low whisper. "I can't bloody stand it here anymore, I've got to get loose. I have a plan to leave this place once and for all. I was going to go to the market to gather supplies soon for my journey. I already have my course plotted out on the maps upstairs. I think I can tell you this since you've been my only friend here besides Ash. I haven't seen her around or else I'd tell her too..." She sighed, sitting on one of the stone steps.

He sat down next to her. "It's not that bad really, once you learn the rules." He smiled "The only purpose of rules is to break them after all right?" He winked to her.

"Naturally." She replied. "Well...I wanted to know--you being my only friend here and all--if you'd want to come with me on my journey? Think of it, you could be an entirely new man...not have to worry about waiting on nobles by hand and foot...think of the adventures...and I have money to travel places. But even so, I've trained and read books about the wild. I could survive in the woods on my own. In fact, I've done it before...when I ran away from home. Besides, my father would never leave me. He's felt so guilty about the death of my mother. His brother's greed is the sole reason for her death. He'd never abandon me. And I have a way I can escape."

His face lit up like a light-bulb. He'd saved up some money and only needed the excuse. He didn't have many belongings so it wouldn't be hard to move. He looked at her and nodded "I would LOVE to! I have a bit of money, it isn't much, but I've saved up enough for a few things. I can possibly sell a few of the items I won't need and use that to get a horse" He smiled "I've been sneaking out of here for years wondering what it would be like to not have to go back. Linus said I'm free to go whenever I want, but I didn't want to set out on my own and my few friends can't just leave, they have debts to pay off and families to take care of, plus, they are happy." He jumped up and did a little jig "we have to keep this quiet, I'll arrange things with Linus tomorrow and you just let me know when you want to leave!" He leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek then went and jumped on the short wall "Come on there's a party waiting!" he meant the shopping to be done, but it seemed like so much more fun, and less conspicious than saying 'let's go shopping'! ((and I'm out for the night))

Nika sighed. He's way too fond of me. She thought, bemused. She touched her cheek and sighed. "Well alright." ((And I'm off too.))

He dropped off the other side of the wall and crouched down waiting for her. He was kneeling between the wall and a row of bushes. The guards only loosely patrolled this area, he could hear a unit had just passed, she'd have a few minutes to get over then they could bolt and climb over the next wall after the unit passed again. It was only two men that passed this way every so often and they never bothered him this early, if they waited much longer, questions would be asked though.

"Alright let's go!" She said, sneaking past the guards.
((Darn looks like I missed you before you went off!))

He crept past with her and hopped over the wall to the outside of the castle. It was a comfortable night so he left his shirt in a tight ball by the wall and continued on with her. It was a short distance to the glowing city. "So where are you planning on going?"

"Well, there's a small town within the forest many miles outside of this town. It's in unmarked territory not in either country. I plan on visiting there for a while at least....then maybe continue on...I'll show you the marked maps later...but let's see here...supplies...we need supplies and horses."

He nodded. "We can just get yours tonight, I want to talk to Linus and see if there's anything extra coming to me or what he can help me with first. I just need to know what you think I need."

"Let's see...some non perishable foods such as dried fruits and meats, canteens of water that we can refill at streams, some good knifes, blankets, flint and fire-making things, some canvas and leather bags, soaps, fishing nets, rope..there must be more...but for now that sounds about right. And clothing of course. Light stuff that can be washed again I suppose. I'm going to pick up those things in town. If you need money to spend, I'll lend you some of mine. It's my father's. I'll deposit my extra armor with him too before I leave or I'll nail a note to his door telling him I have left and to come to the castle and claim my things."

He nodded. "When do you plan on leaving? Because I can get most of that stuff for myself in two days most likely."

"I plan on leaving soon. I was going to leave tonight but now that you're coming I want you to have a few days to prepare yourself."

"Eh well...why don't we split up, we'll get it all quickly then. Here's some money, grab some supplies in that shop over there. They have a lot of basic stuff." She pointed to the Mercantile shop. "You can probably find soap, canvas, twine and roap, blankets and what not in there. If you think it'll be useful, buy it. The next store we come across will take a few days to reach in the woods. I'll go over to the market and buy some dried goods. I have canteens and knives already so we're covered there." She handed him the bag of coins and walked over to the market.
