"More or less. You're looking good in your power armor Yulia, I think its the first time I've seen you wear it. I thought it would be a good idea for my squad to to meet in the presence of the evil ones so that they can grow even more fearful of the great one." Brutus continued to stare off into the starry night sky, a bit of a frown appearing on his face.

Huxley meandered through the gaping maw of the main gate and watched the full moon yaw lazily through the sky. He smiled to himself, the tips of his yellow teeth glowing back at the moon from behind a drawn curtain of flesh. He had spend many a sleepless night simply staring at the sky, thankful that at least the heavens were untouched by the great war.
Closing his lips and squinting, he saw the massive figure of his squad leader and the oddly proportioned steel carapace of power armor next to him. Never one for poetic introductions, Huxley walked up to them and simply said "Hello."

Delta motioned for the guards to let him through the gate. Stepping through the sand, he walked up to his squadmates and leader. Sighing Delta said, "Where is the grub? Just one question though, how strong are our enemies?" Delta started to zone out while looking at the dunes.
((For those who have played Fallout, is it an adventure game? I wanna get it for my PS2.))

((I'm not sure what the official genre for it is, but I would call it an action RPG. Not in the definition would it be called an adventure game. It's great, though! I really like Fallout 2, more, though... But both should be played. =D))
Yulia stood and wondered what he was talking about. She hadn't time to think about the 'great one' and who it would be before others started coming outside. She turned to the two newcomers and was about to give them each a handshake, but realized that she might break their fingers. Instead she lifted her hand and gave a salute. "I haven't really met either of you, but just so you know I'm the medic and Junior Paladin," she let her hand fall and loosened her body. She wanted to smile but knew they couldn't see her face either way. "I know that Delta is in infantry, but have you chosen anything yet Huxley?" she looked them both up and down and moved on to answer Delta. "I'm not sure what Brutus is planning, but there are numerous creatures out in the Wastes. Some strange, well all are pretty strange, but they are all defeat-able if we use our minds and team," she nodded a little and looked back at Brutus. "I'm sure more people will be joining us so a full briefing on the activity will probably be received then."
((Sorrryyy... I'm really tired and if any of that doesn't make sense I apologize doubblbly... xD))

Brutus chuckled a little at the confusion that was amassing between the recruits new and old. "You cannot kill these foes for they are gods." Brutus extended his arm and pointed a fat finger at the stars in the sky, and then the moon. "No doubt you've seen them. The morning and evening begins with two massive battles and both the Great one and the evil ones win and loose. The magnificent colors you see are thier strengths fading or getting stronger as time passes. The great one rises every morning and fends off the evil ones and thier leader to protect the Earth for the whole day. Even gods get tired though, and when he is tired from fighting he retreats beyond the horizon. That is when the evil ones gang up on him and like the cowards they are use thier numbers to out-weigh the great one." Brutus had hoped his explination was helping. "I've heard them being reffered to as... I think it was ssss-un and moo- oon. Ive never given them names but i've spent my fair share of time praising and despising them while I wandered in the wastes. It is my conection and inspiration gained from them that makes it feel only right to be assembled in thier presence. The evil ones feed off of the hate in this world and grow stronger as hope fades. It is my job to make sure each and every one of us is strong and is on the right path. Our very actions throughout the day aide the great one. So long as we keep fighting for peace and doing what is right, he will rise the next day and aide us in battle." This philosiphy was primitive but the way Brutus spoke it with such a serious tone it was apparent this was what he genuinly believed in. Nothing would convince him otherwise, not even science, for that was just letters and numbers. Actions were what counted and he wanted to make sure everyone understood that.

Yulia considered sharing her own thoughts and what she knew, but instead stayed quiet. She was an emotional person, perhaps the most emotional individual in the Brotherhood, but she liked to keep her life to herself and didn't want to mention her beliefs. Instead she looked back up at the sky again. "I kind of like the night compared to the day," she kept what she knew about stars to keep Brutus with his philosophy. She would never dream of trying to change a Nomad's idea of the earth and mountains he lived on and by, and wouldn't consider trying to prove anyone wrong on something sensitive or personal to them. "The air always reminds me of water. Cool and refreshing," at this she lifted her helmet off and breathed in the air. "So, what exactly is the plan?" she asked. Were they going to meditate or try to destroy the moon? She wanted to laugh at her ideas but decided to just shake out her hair.

((Oh yeah, Delta and Blackhand, you both need something representing the BoS in your signatures... and your rank! Occupation? I can't remember if you NEED that. It's helpful either way, though. =D))

((Yes, I know I need to put some BoS advertisement in my sig, but I'm still very new to Gaia and I've yet to figure out how to do that. I might need some help at some point in time >.<))
"I'm going infantry, I've been walking all my life and I don't see any point in changing that now or ever," Huxley stretched his arms, his bones cracking and armor sighing. "Besides, harsh as the wastes may be, one can learn to relish its alien flowers and quiet expanses." He looked over to Brutus with a glint in his eyes, the story of the sun and moon slowly sinking into his mind and taking its place beside all the other stories he knew. "Brutus, do you come from any of the native tribes? I remember one tribal who told me of the everlasting battle of the heavens," Huxley let out a sickly hack and pointed to the sky. "See that cluster of stars? That's the arena of the eternal."

Zaid was on Guard duty that night and he was the one controlling the gate his shift was about to end and he was very much curious about what Brutus, Yulia and the new recruits were up to
"hey jack you're late?" he said as his replacement finally arrived giving him the controlls of the gate
he got out of the armored booth and once he reached the stairs he didn't bother climbing down and actually jumped his armored boots absorbing the shock and impact after the roused dust had settled he headed out the gate and was watching the group all listening to Brutus' speech
and after huxley had spoken Zaid simply walked up to the group saying "hi guys" and stood there listening

((Blackhand: Go here, go to the Banner Listings, choose a banner, copy the link, go to the top tool bar and hover your mouse over "My Gaia". While there, go down to My Account and click, go to to "Signature", paste the banner's link that you picked, then type in your rank and whatever... Hit submit or whatever and VIOLA! You're donez0rz. =D)) Yulia wasn't surprised to hear that Huxley had stories about the stars, it was hard not to meet a tribe here and there. Getting a tribe to talk to you was always the hard part. She remembered living with a tribe for a month guarding supplies after a caravan she was traveling with was attacked by raiders. They paid hardly any attention to her until they learned she had a background in medicine. After that she was somewhat stuck listening to their stories, but at the same time learning important things about medicine and even patience for those who didn't share your beliefs. She didn't bother looking up at the sky because she knew what cluster of stars Huxley was referring to, instead she looked at the ground and imagined it covered with flowers and wildlife. When he mentioned 'alien flowers' she had to wonder what he was talking about. There were Carnivorous plants that would attack and a few other plants including grass, but nothing she would call flowers. Had he at one point in his life lived near the ocean? Years ago she was near the coast of California and had found small plants growing out of the dusty ground, but assumed they were just weeds. Weeds were the only thing that seemed to thrive on radiation... that and ghouls. Everything else was just born from it's wreckage. She heard Zaid come behind and greet them. She nodded her head in acknowledgment. Turning back to Brutus, she wanted to see if he had more to say, which she was sure he did.

Delta couldnt think of flowers, let alone picture them. All he knew was death. Since arriving at the Brotherhood, he has a hard time trusting people, coming from a place where you could trust no one. "But I know this place is my home now. I wonder what this world will be like in 70 years" Delta said out loud. Sitting down in the sand, he submerged into the sadness he once felt years ago.
Letting a tear slip down his face, he slapped himself. Rolling up his sleeves, he exposed the cuts on his arms. Six of them on each arm, he walked up to everyone there and showed them, saying to each one, "Each cut is a symbol for each person I have let down. I vowed to not let even one person down when I entered the Brotherhood, and you have my promise . NONE!" After saying that, he rolled down his sleeves and stood in silence.
((Having the cuts on his arms, its just the discription of my character, I dont have them in real life.))

Yulia looked at Delta's arms and wondered if the people he let down had ended up dead or something else. "I think you'll do fine here, Delta," she moved over to him and looked in his eyes. "Everyone in the Brotherhood is just that, brothers and sisters. We will watch over you and help you, all you have to do is grow and learn from us and maybe even teach us a few things. I don't think it is possible to let us down," she smiled at the initiate and moved back.

Delta walked over to Yulia and replied, "Well, thank you. If you were wondering, the men and women I let down, were my squadmates, and I had to protect them when they were wounded." Giving her a brief hug, he felt that his life and future were going to get better.

Brutus chuckled at Huxley's question, which was a fairly common thing he did. "No I never spent any time with any tribes to my knowledge. I can only remember certain things about my life and what I remember is training and fighting in the Master's army and then wandering with my once good friend Karl. After many fights I came here to exact my revenge on Karl which I was able to do. Now with the Brotherhood's aide, I wish to find out the rest of my past; my life before I became a mutant." ((Just a note: The RP im in right now regards all this in the sens that we're in the middle of discovering Brutus' past and so on. For a more realistic approach Im not going to say anything here and pretend like this is before I went on the mission)) Hearing Zaid's hail Brutus turned to greet him. "Well hello there. We're just gathering here as a squad to get to know eachother a bit better, you may join if you'd like." Then turning his attention to Delta Brutus clasped a huge hand on the human's shoulder and spoke with a straight and stern face. "I know the pain of failure and confusion. I know the saddness that can reside in a person's heart. I've been on this earth for as many years as most old humans have, and so long as I am not killed I will out live them. My heart has been destroyed, my mind has been erased and laughed at, but my spirit rages on. When you're sad think not of how you've failed because all failure is is a chance to learn something new. Strength your spirit and your will so that you may fight stronger in the battles to come. We all expect certaint hings from you, but trust me you will not let anyone down. Things happen and everyone in this group understands that." Releasing his shoulder Brutus cleared his throat and spokle to them all. "Well enough mindless jabber. I called you all here so that we may meet and get to know eachother better. CFAR isnt here yet but I dont think he'll mind if we start without him. I know this isnt story time and we're not children. All I'd like for us to do is say our names and anything else you want the others to know. You need not speak of anything you do not wish, nor do you need to say the same things as the person before you. Since I am squad leader I spose it is only fitting that I give an example and go first." Cracking both sides of his neck again, Brutus prepared to speak: "My name is Brutus and I dont know how old I am. Numbers and letters mean very little to me in the long run, and the only technology I enjoy using is the kind that kills bad guys. I have practicly mastered the art of brawling and melle fighting from a strength standpoint and I prefer not to use guns unless I must. I do not enjoy the use of tabacco, drugs or hard drink but dont frown upon any who indulge in these things. I wandered the wastes most of my mutant life, avoiding towns and saving caravans with my ex-friend Karl, whom I killed shortly after joining the Brotherhood. As you can see I have the Brotherhood's symbol burned into the flesh of my forehead forever and the symbol tatooed across ,y entire back. That is to let all who see me know who I fight for. Pain affects me little and sometimes that leads to my downfall by under or over estimating my enemies and thresholds. I have a very stong bond with my lil sis, whom everyone else calls Lyanah. We're very good friends but I also share tight bonds with Yulia here, CFAR, Xenos, Barsul and Twixi (may the gods rest her soul). Im not considered very smart due to the fact I cant read well and numbers make my head hurt but I can lead a charge into battle and in this world thats all that matters. I believe that whoever has the strongest mind AND body wins the day and not just the battle. Fighting is all im good at and so violence and killing is what I do best. I do however have a merciful side. I will never harm a child for any reason, nor will I kill a person who submits. Any who are evil in my eyes will perish and do not deserve a second chance. The weak, the defensless and the hopless are who I fight for and they are the ones whom I shall aide."

Yulia was a bit surprised at the hug but smiled. She waited in silence for a few moments after Brutus told his story and then decided she should tell her own. She was not one for sharing her past, and it showed with her telling her story in more of a list, rather than a passionate one. "I don't really have much a story, it just sounds like anything else you may have heard from anyone in the wastes. My parents were born in a vault, but I was born outside in some town. I met Kai, who is pretty much a brother to me. I learned medicine from my mom and fighting from my father. They both died when I was around 8... and just so you know I'm not sure how old I am," at this she became uncomfortable and shuffled her feet. Yulia wasn't someone who cared much about what people thought about her, but she didn't like to seem ignorant. She moved on more slowly and deliberate than before. "I mean, if I thought hard about it maybe I would remember, but I'm sure I'm around 18 or 20," she coughed and looked around. "Anyway, after they died Kai and I went off to Reno. In hindsight, I guess that was a bad idea. We were both young and Reno is a pretty bad place, but I learned some stuff from drug dealers and the like... There isn't much more than that. I traveled and worked and traveled more. In my traveling I decided to join the Brotherhood, but that's only because the Reavers didn't want me. Kidding! Seriously, I'm kidding," she laughed, thinking how gross the Reavers were. I don't drink or smoke and I mostly read. I've become close with Xenos, Munki and Brutus inside of the guild, but met Alex (Twix) and Kai outside of it. " she closed her eyes and tried to think of anything else. "I don't really like to share much of anything and I guess I just like to help people," she smiled and looked to the initiates.
((So is Twixi "dead" now? Is that what were saying?? xD I thought she was going to rejoin again when she had the time? Did she say to act like she was dead?))
