Kaori looked from Rowan and the money to the boy and the beautiful dagger. She wasn't just getting blackmailed, now; she was getting payed, and that redefined the equation. The combined value of the two was more than enough to buy her time for a few days. She hesitated. No amount of money was worth getting killed over. "You both just want to ask me questions, right?" She walked over to them. "I am delighted to say that we have reached an accord."

Kaome looked shocked as the man walked to find the girl and boy who walked away. "Is he always like that?" She asked the swordswoman who stayed behind, Ito was what he called her. Ryu walked back to Kaome, and she scratched his ears absentmindedly.

"no, i just noticed you didn't get your daggers back from him. and everyone needs protection." aise told her."and this dagger is worth a lot more than that gold and silver. this would be pure, white ice. it can only be made by handfull of people." aise told her.

Ito: as far as i can tell he's just that way. i've only been traveling with him for the last few days anyway so it's rather hard to tell.

Kaori nodded. "That's enough to buy my time for a week, so that's how long you've got to ask your questions." She turned her attention to Ice-boy again, and raised her eyebrows. "And you? Is that for me, or not?" She looked at the dagger more closely, her expression incredulous. "Ice, is it? It won't melt, or anything, right?"

Kaori looked at him blankly. "What? Did the dagger belong to a king?" She frowned. "Actually, I don't feel comfortable accepting an expensive gift like that; it makes me feel like I'll expected to repay the person giving it to me at some point, and in a fairly major way." She nodded politely to him, then started back toward the armored lady and the other girl.

Kaome looked up from where she sat on the ground. The girl from earlier was walking back towards them. Ryu looked up as well. He growled softly at the girl, as if there was something about her that he didn't trust. "Don't attack her until she's done something worthy of an attack. Jeeze, your just overreacting." Kaome ruffled the hair between his ears and he snapped at her hand playfull, but was still on guard.

aise decided that it was good she didn't accept the blade. he only had 3 hilts left. but he decided o set her strait. he ran over, tapped her on the sholder and said, "i am a king."

aise spotted the girl from eariler and decided to go over and talk to her. when he walked up to her , he saw her pet growling. he stayed calm and said, "i think we got off on the wrong foot. the names aise, by the way."

Kaome nodded. "Kaome, and this is Ruy, my partner." Ryu sniffed Aise and sneezed. His eyes wanded back to the other girl, his fur still up.

"yea, and the reason i was running from them is because they robbed me..." aise said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a blue pendant. "for this. i stole it back, but then they just started chasing me, so i had to take them down somehow..."

"i think i did a little of both." aise said, a little nervous. "i was also wondering if you were traveling if i could travel with you. i'm not from around here and have no idea where anything is. it would also be nice to have a travel companion...or just a friend.."

Kaome thought about for a bit. "I don't mind. Ryu?" Ryu looked back at Kaome then to Aise. He cocked his head, then barked once. "I'll take that as a yes. Though for the time being I'm staing here for the night, or for however long it takes to finish my job." Kaome looked back at Aise. "May I ask where you are from?"
