Had he really forgotten? Elijah's reaction made her think that he had. But how could he, when that was the entire purpose... Something wriggled and fluttered inside of her which Relm clamped down upon immediately. Get a hold of yourself, Relm Arrowny!
Her smile flashed in her eyes. "Both then. Gives us an excuse to mingle and bump elbows and whatnot while its still quiet enough for conversations." Relm had heard only how loud concerts could be, but being outdoors perhaps this would not be quite so stentorian. Taking a step towards the food she looked back over her shoulder at Elijah, having to peer at him through her own translucent red faerie wings. There was a sheepish manner to the way she ducked her chin & lowered her eyes ever so slightly. "Not sure I could actually eat something, but we can always look."
Another truth, or partial truth. There was no law stating Relm had to tell her friend that the reason she might not be able to eat anything was from the irrational fluttering of many imaginary winged things in the pit of her stomach. Silly of the creatures really -they had no reason to be there.

Elijah frowned. "No? Are you okay?" He wondered if she was sick or something and hadn't told him for the sake of helping him with the band stuff or something. "Or... do you just not like concert food?" He felt a little guilty now. Perhaps he should of treated her to some food some place else before they left. Sadly is was too late now. He peered over at the food stands, wondering if they had anything like Salade or something else strange for a concert to have around...

Oh no! She had not meant to worry Elijah! Though... Relm felt touched that he was worried. Her smile was warm and reassuring. "Oh I'm fine! Just not very hungry." Green eyes flashed and even her forehead ruby glowed softly with its red light. Comforting. Happy. "I didn't eat all that long before I left home." Relm's hands went into her pockets before she was tempted to grab his hand or do something equally foolhardy. The look of pure sweet impishness was back as she cast a sideways smile at her friend. "First concert, remember? How am I supposed to know if I like the food or not? I don't even know what's here!"
Relm was enthusiastic, not looking at the food so much as the people milling around the stalls. Mint green carbunkle ears flicked to listen to conversations -so much better for listening than the human ones she remembered from 'before'- for hints of musicians among them. Particularly... if it sounded like they were in need of a band or a change in bands.

Elijah blinked and smiled a little. "Alright. That does make sense..." He raised an eyebrow as he wondered if she was really okay. She sure did seem to be telling the truth... "If you're sure." He glanced over at the stalls for a second, wondering if anyone he knew would be around. Most likely not. Most of people he knew well in this area seemed pretty busy lately. His green eyes flickered back to his friend. "Well, maybe I could at least get you something to drink while were over there? That way we won't look like were ease dropping too much on people or something..." He grinned a bit at what he said. One of the main reasons they seemed to be here after all was to seek out some potential musicians.

((*eep!* Fell asleep before I finished post and lost it. O_o oops!))
"Sure thing. If they have something I like." A smile and a quick wink. Maybe even if they didn't have something she liked. Liquid would likely be good. She did not comment on the eaves dropping, just smiled and nodded that she had heard.
'I could at least get you something to drink' ... 'I could ... get you something ...' Her eyes almost went wide at the replay in her mind and the things flying around in her stomach fluttered. They weren't on a date... why would he say it like that? Because it was easier to say? Or because he intended to do just that? And if so... why? Speaking of why... why was she even thinking about all of this? Just because.... oh this was stupid! Elijah was her friend. They were here as friends, or at the least: business.
It had to be because he was treating her like a normal girl. HAD to be. But then... why was she noting the way his hair... or his eyes...
Mentally Relm shook herself and smiled without showing but the barest hint of her thoughts. "So lets see, okay?" Inclining her head for him to join her she walked to the stalls.

(( XD; Don't worry about it. You're replying faster than I am. @_@; I blame stressful school for that though... ))
Elijah nodded his head in response and walked by her side. His right hand that was in his pocket twitch as he almost absent mindedly went to reach for the other's hand. He stopped himself before even pulling it out of his pocket. Weird... Relm was his friend. He shouldn't of been almost doing stuff like the without thinking. I mean, sure she was a girl, but he didn't think of her like that... right? Well this was definitly not a date. This was a business. Besides, it wasn't like Relm was even close to having this problem. Nah. Course not.
To distract himself, he studied one of the menu boards they had walked up to, looking over at all the sodas and other drinks they had. There was nothing too fancy.

((only 'cause Relm's being so dang insistent! lol Soon as I remember to check she's all 'now this is how it is!' on me. ^_^))
If only Relm was trying to read Elijah's body language as she would a stranger's. Actually at the moment she was trying not to look at him, focusing on the menu. To all outward appearances. She was actually listening. And thinking too.
gah. Sodas. I'd rather get a drink... but I'm underage here. Espers. Not like they have any decent ales at a place like this. Like that's likely. Hmm... Maybe they have a decent cream soda? Like IBC? Doubtful... but better off looking or asking for that than a juice here. And I don't care how much I was paid for that painting I refuse to buy bottled water unless I'm dehydrating! What she was trying hard not to think about was how she would not want to ask Elijah to buy it either and how she was fighting the urge to ask his opinion. Why should she even want his opinion in buying her own drink? It didn't make any sense.
Oh look! They did have cream soda! But it didn't give a brand. Internal grr, outward big smile. "Hi! The cream soda... which brand is that?"

(( xd Aaah. Relm is on of your favorite FF characters, isn't she? *random* ))
"It's an A&W. We also have some Dr.Brown. Which will you be having? Anything else you want?" The guy taking orders smiled. He was always happy to have a line of customers after all. He looked over to Elijah. "You want something too?"
Elijah blinked and snapped back to reality and out of his thoughts. "Oh uhm... I'll have whatever she's having." He shrugged. Cream soda sounded good.... that was what she was having right? Well anyway, he now couldn't figure out if he was supposed to pay for this stuff or not. He had offered to get it for her before, but this wasn't a date. So that meant he wasn't supposed to pay.... right? Well, he could always be nice and pay for it anyway. "Do you want me to pay?"

((*giggles* how can you tell? Certainly not my mini horde of them. *winks* Yeah... Relm's probably always been my favorite FF character since first playing FF6 when in the states it was still FF3. Which is funny, 'cause she has quite a foul mouth on her, tends to be rude, and the way the gameplay is setup her special skill (paint) hardly ever works when it would be useful. *faceplants* But I love her to bits.
...and now the Relms have infested my mind. They're very insistent, you know. O_o ^_^))
Well A&W was good. Not IBC, but good. Dr.Brown must be a local brand. She had never had it before. It could be very good... but the way things were fluttering in her stomach Relm was loathe to try something unknown.
Maybe she could pick up a sixpack of it another time. Share it with Elijah. Mentally Relm smacked herself in the head. What the Hell was wrong with her anyway? Because he liked cream soda too?
Espers!! This was getting her nowhere! "The A&W please." She responded with a smile to the stall attendant. Friendly, but certainly not flirting. Relm was not the type to flirt. Well... she'd probably do it as a means to get to an ends. "Nothing else just now, thanks."
Relm blinked and had to fight a furious blush at Elijah's question. Then it was gone and only a thoughtful look remained as she pondered her answer. "It would be easier for only one of us to get money out... hmmm... sure. If you want. As long as I get to cover the next round, clear?" Dancing green eyes winked at the dog-anthro.

(( Ah. So that's the FF she is from. I was wondering. I was never able to really snatch the earlier copies since I wasn't very much aware of them when they were coming out. I have some of the newer games. The olds ones look like a ton of fun, though... ))
The guy nodded and went off to get two drinks of A&W. He came back quickly and put the two drinks down. "That will be four dollars," He said and friendly smiled with his hand out, waiting to accept the money. Elijah fished out four dollars from his pocket and chuckled. "Fine, were clear. I don't have much of an issue paying for snacks though..." He smiled at her. He handed the money to the food stand guy and said thank you to him before the other went back to selling food and drinks to his other customers.

Her return smile was almost too bright for the situation as she took the drinks. Almost. Why did Elijah have to be so sweet anyway? "Get the tickets and the snacks?" She asked with a playful lilt and almost mischievous sparkle in her eyes as she handed the dog anthro his drink and took a tiny sip from her own. Relm made sure they walked a little bit away from the stall -not much but just enough not to be in the way of the lines- and lifted her eyes up at Elijah over her drink. "If that's the way you want to do it... did you just want to call this a date and be done with it?"
Teasing, she grinned -trying not to show how inside her stomach was doing cartwheels. For it was also a test too. Not a pass/fail kind of test. More like a testing the waters kind of test. Basically curious to observe Elijah's response. More than curious.
Her large mint green ears flicked overhearing a musical term -something about changing fret boards?- in a nearby conversation. Damn it all! She wanted to focus only on Elijah...
Why the hell was that anyway?
Sighing inside only. Relm made no show of any of this, keeping her eyes and smile lifted up to her friend as she took another sip of her drink. Waiting. Trying not to... what? Hope? The pictomancer tried to rope down the butterflies fluttering inside of her.

Elijah's eyes went wide and he almost tripped at her question. He knew he must of been acting maybe a little off, but was he that obvious? Well... not like he had been hoping that all along. He was more confused than anything. "Wh-What? Well... uhm... I just thought it would be the right thing to do.. I wasn't implying.... well... I don't know..." He paused, feeling his cheeks go warm as he blushed. He had no idea how to explain himself, because he wasn't even sure of himself. Why did he insist on buying anything? Was he really just being nice?
"Well... would YOU like to call it that?" Ah, turning the tables. Now that made it less awkward. He smiled once again and shrugged. Elijah looked away to a group he thought he heard mentioning something about music for a moment, hoping that the blush would disappear soon.

Oh Espers! Was he... Sputtering? Relm yelled for those dang butterflies inside her to cut it the hell out while she did her best to keep a sense of a calm, outward appearance. And not choke on her cream soda. Espers but it was damn hard to look away from Elijah when he was blushing so adorably like that! Not that she could with the act she had chosen. Not that she wanted to.
Letting the proper amount of honest surprise slip through as Elijah turned her question back upon herself Relm bought time by nibbling on her straw. She made a slight huffing sound through her nose then stuck her tongue out at him. "You're avoiding."
Hmm... how to answer. How to answer. Grinning Relm stepped towards him and bumped his arm with her shoulder. Playful. Almost teasing. "What if I don't want to tell you?" Relm teased further, looping her arm through his and giving a slight tug towards those talking about music.

Elijah took gulp of his own cream soda and shrugged once more. "Avoiding? Me? What makes you say that?" He said as he turned to face her again. His eyes avoided direct contact with the her own, as if he feared it would be even more obvious than it already was about avoiding. Lying was a very hard thing to do with this girl.
He frowned a little at her reply in disappointment. "Well, why wouldn't you want to tell me?" Oh boy. He was stuck again. He really didn't want to be the one to say right now. Well, not like he had a clue of how to answer that question anyway. Things were pretty confusing right now... "Is it a secret?" He glanced over at the group talking about music and started to make his way over with Relm.

Her arm looped through his, Elijah might be able to feel the brief moment where she tensed at his question. What kind of game was she playing anyway? Did she even want to play this game? She did not like having made him frown. Relm looked up and offered a smile. Not overly bright, not sad... just a smile. Just for him. "For now it's a secret. As for why..." Relm took in a brave breath. "Maybe I don't want my answer to risk ruining our good time."
