Ignoring Rien's questions, Christophe struggled against the white light that held him from attacking the winged barkeeper. His eyes were tiny slits as he stared at the man who was checking his injuries. He was oblivious to anything else happening. Focusing through his rage, he figured out Shi's light was restraining him, and glared at her too.
Realizing he wasn't going to be allowed to move a milimeter closer to the barkeep, he backed up and bolted out the door of the tavern, growling as he picked up his bag and stomped off to the inn and back to his room.

Tank stepped away from the girls, watching Christophe run from the tavern like someone had lit a fire under him. He shook his head. He knew that there were people out there who didn't like other people simply because of physical features, or beliefs. But wings were hardly a rare sight in Dark Haven, and Tank didn't really know if he believed anything, let alone anything offensive. He had barely said a full sentence to the kid, yet he flew at him with such frenzied rage, that even Tank's trained reflexes had had a hard to keeping up.
He flexed his wings, his feathers ruffling up like they would on a pissed of rooster. "What's his problem?" He bent one wings around him so he could examine it, and gently stroked the glossy black feathers. The lights in the tavern dimmed, flickered, and then came back at half power. Tank looked around. After a moment, the lights readjusted.
"Do you think he's all right? No one just attacks another for no apparent reason, and it was so sudden." He wiped dripping blood away from the cut in his face with the back his hand.
Several feathers from his wing that had been pulled loose came off in his hand, and he frowned at them. He released his wing, and it resituated itself behind him. He ran his fingers over the displaced feathers, his eyes narrowing. There was a look of intense contemplation on his face before his slipped the feathers into his pocket.
"Well then. I have to thank you ladies for your assistance. God only knows where I would have been without you."

When Nolah entered the tavern it was with a look of confusion on her face. Christophe had nearly bowled her over as she'd passed, forgoing her bath she decided to check out the tavern instead. In her haste to leave the bank however she realized she'd not changed out of her costume and suddenlybecame painfully aware in the presence of others and pulled her cloak more tightly to her.
Then she caught sight of everyone by the bar and a quick scrutiny gave her the basic details. There had been a fight. Forgetting about the costume she hurried forward, worried for her friend. "Tank, are you alright? Did Christophe..." Her voice trailed off as she scanned him.

"Ah, well. Christophe just had a bit of an outburst. No harm, no foul," Tank said, that well-known smile easing itself back onto his face. "Can't stay away from me, eh Nolah? I thought you were off to do other things with your time?"
He rubbed the back of his neck, where it had been wrenched in Christophe's grasp, and then grabbed a towel. "Goodness, I lose cleanliness points!" He immediately began mopping up spilled alcohol. The broke glass he picked up with his hands, cutting them numerous times, but all cuts healed within a few seconds, just as the gash on his cheek had. There was no trace of it.
"Mustn't run a business with mess everywhere," he muttered to himself.

Shi drifted slowly back to her usual bar stool. She was in as much bewilderment as Tank was.
Finally, she muttered a singal word to herself. "Nutball.."
She looked up and located Tank. She figured now was as good a time as any. "Hey, Tank? Mind if I took up a job here? Waitress, tender, whatever. It looks like you could use a helping hand around here." She'd didn't mean to imply that he was weak, or took poor care of the place. She just thought it'd be good to be around just in case some event similar to this happened again.

Tank chuckled. "I thought you already had a job, Shi."
He glanced around. Yeah, he was mostly alone in the place all the time unless the occassional customer swooped in. Every-so-often he'd get company when delivery trucks came and brought him his weekly orders, but for the most part, it was by himself. He considered the notion of having someone else around to help out with things, but then shook his head.
"I'm not sure if I get enough business in here for that sort of thing, darlin."

Rien looked around at the shaken people, and sighed. She thought she'd escaped arguments and problems, but then that must be impossible.
"I'm going to go talk to Christophe, and see if I make any sense of this. I don't think he'd be dangerous to me, so don't worry about me... You wouldn't need to anyway, I have a few tricks up my sleeves," she laughed, showing the glint of a dagger hidden well. "Don't worry, I would never take it out unless absolutely necessary."
She smiled at everyone and headed out quickly.

Nolah laughed. "You're too irresistable Tank, how can I not be here?" Her eyes caught the healing cuts and she sighed. " So I guess we both had a rough time eh? I need another drink." She was referring to her interview/audition as she untied her cloak and draped it over the stool beside her, suddenly completely complacent about the fact that she was still wearing her costume. There were other much important things to worry about, besides, this was the most modest of the three.
When Shi expressed a wish to work at the Tavern Nolah's eyebrow arched. "But you run the inn...won't that be a lot of work?" She questioned. Tank was tidying up behind the bar and while she waited for Shi to answer she sent out a silent probe. She'd always had a gift of telepathy though she rarely used it. This time however, she was searching for Christof, trying to guess at his state of mind. He'd seemed perfectly fine earlier and and judging by the scene left behind it hadn't just been a slap to the face that had occured.
She picked up feelings of distress, confusion and most prevalent, fear and pain. She felt a pang of sympathy and a sudden flash of wings appeared, two sets. "It was your wings..." Nolah said looking up at Tank, "He saw them and he was afraid I think...but I don't understand because he has wings too...even though he tries to hide them." She felt slightly guilty about outing this fact but quickly dismissed it. "It wasn't anything personal..."
"I'm going to go talk to Christophe," Rien suddenly announced. "And see if I make any sense of this. I don't think he'd be dangers to me so don't worry about me...You wouldn't need to anyway." There was a flash of a dagger as a grin lit up the elf's features. "Don't worry, I would never take it out unless absolutely necessary." And then she was gone. Nolah whistled in surprise.
"She went from being 'a shy recluse' to a daggar weilding detective. That girl is full of surprises." She said with a smile and then tugged at one of the thick braids coiled on her head. It would be so wonderful to let her hair down and sink into a nice, steaming bath and relax with some candles and a book...but first she wanted a drink and to make sure Tanke and co. were alright. "I like her though, hopefully she'll open up enough so we can be friends..." She added this as an after thought and shifted on her stool.

Tank shrugged. "I like suprises. And I like dagger wielding detectives. It's a win/win situation here for me, don't you see?" He gave her a sly smile, and then finished cleaning up the mess that had been made. There was a moment of silence between all the people in the bar, and the lights flickered again. Tank released a breath. He turned back around and went into the back room, disappearing from sight. "Excuse me a moment, ladies," he called in his wake.
Suddenly something strangely familiar about Christophe struck him hard, and he sat down on an alcohol crate, closing his eyes. Where had he seen that kid before? It wasn't anywhere in Dark Haven, because he liked to think he knew most people from around these parts. But still there was something about...
Bah. It was ridiculous. Tank had lost his memory long ago, and it was wishful thinking to even dream that it would ever come back. Somewhere deep inside of him, he felt that the person that he was now would hate the person he was back then. That kind of inner dissonance tugged at him with a lot of unseen force.
Get it together, man.

Nolah smiled. "I guess so. At least I know not to cross her, not that I would." She gave a light laugh but felt suddenly cold as the lights flickered. Tank excused himself and disappeared from the backroom. Nolah sighed and glanced over at Shi. "I'm getting a drink." She announced and vaulted herself over the bar with amazing agility. She supposed being part cat-girl and a dancer had a lot, if not everything to do with it.
Glancing down the small corridor that led the back room Nolah busied herself by perusing the bottles lining the wall and finally chose a bottle of Irish cream. She didn't drink it often but she wanted something soothing, not something that would make her eyes water. Getting out a glass, she dropped in some ice and filled it. She had enough money for it anyways so it wasn't like she was stealing it.

Shi nodded. "Well I wasn't needing a paying job. I just like to know what's going on, and taverns and inns are perfect places to be in to do all the people-watching you'd ever dream of."
She turned to Nolah,, and replied, "Nah, I've got a lot of patience, and I need something to busy myself with, anyways. The Inn's slow, and I'm not always needed at the Bloodlust up north.
Shi chuckled to herself as the two slung their humor about, and watched Rein disappear. She then pulled out a bottle of blood from her bag, shook it lightly, uncorked it, and poured it into the goblet that was still out, but until onw, was empty.

"The Bloodlust?" Nolah questioned. She liked Shi, and this was a chance to get to know her better. Sipping at her drink, she stayed behind the bar.

Nolah de Fanel "The Bloodlust?" Nolah questioned. She liked Shi, and this was a chance to get to know her better. Sipping at her drink, she stayed behind the bar. Shi nodded, and yawned slightly, as she hadn't slept much since she got here, due to her recent revert back to her ancient form ((who wanted to kill my now-fiance)), her wars with Nephiras and Azraeth, and a million other trivial things. "Yes, it's an underground bar for vampires, though anybody can go. We're civil there, so don't worry about getting bitten. Well, we don't bite at all, really. Anyways. I've been working there for a few months now."

"Ah, I've never heard of it." Nolah replied, which surprised her because she had been to many places, and usually was aware of a lot. She could sense that Shi was thinking about something else and went to set her near-empty glass down on the bar counter. "Oh s**t!" She exclaimed suddenly. "Just great..." A drop of the liquid had fallen onto the skirt of her costume. She dabbed at it with a napkin but to no avail.

Shi glanced at her spot, and waved her hand towards it, and it faded away. "You should go sometime. Ignoring the usual ignorant people who drift in, we're all pretty close."
