RP Response: However the music had begun, and there was nothing to do about it now. Luckily the piece chosen wasn't terrible... just not what he had picked. Assuming his position, he tensed only briefly at the jesting words muttered his way, tails puffing ever the faintest puff. "I hope you haven't lost your already puny muscle mass." he huffed with grit teeth, before their performance began.
Ohh, he dearly wanted to snap back with a retort, but there wasn't time. In an instant, they were both gliding along the ice, accompanied by the haunting sounds of the orchestra. They'd decided to go big right out of the gate, and Tobias's hands easily went to Valory's waist. In an instant, he'd thrown the smaller, slender form high into the air, his eyes narrowed with concentration. One wrong move and he could miss the catch--or end up falling.
Part of him very much hoped that Valory remembered his earlier 'threat'. It'd serve the snotty kumiho right to feel a little bit apprehensive...

They probably worked harder than anyone out there, hardly any time given to breaks and leisurely activities. And he made sure that all efforts were put forth towards training, and keeping their bodies in tip top condition. No slacking was going to be had on his account.
Their movements were flawless as ever, smooth, articulate, and clean. Sloppiness wasn't an option. Each movement was in sync, timing perfectly aligned. His expression kept perfectly still as he focused on the routine they'd drilled endlessly, body preparing for the toss that was to come. And of course it was received effortlessly, the perfect amount of strength put into releasing him in the air, and enough momentum to have him twisting just as well.
There was always a slight grip in his gut when ever he was descending, that tiny seed of doubt that was so deeply buried in his gut. Would he be caught...? But of course Tobias was a professional, despite all odds.... and a sturdy catch was awaiting the lithe figure that'd twirled in the air.

Points Earned: 20 RP Response:Valory flew into the air as though that was where he was meant to be, twisting effortlessly before falling back to earth. Tobias was ready, easily catching the kumiho... and allowed his fingers to relax just slightly--enough to make it seem as though he was losing his grip. Hopefully it wouldn't be enough for the judges to notice. Immediately, he put the other back on his feet, smirking even as he glided past. They'd be jumping side by side together now, and it was important that they were in sync. Tobias launched himself in the air on the beat, spinning into a triple Salchow as was expected.

While Valory had all the faith in himself, in his abilities to carry out his well practiced and advanced jumps, he always struggled in partner pairings. It was well known in his history that most of his partners did not mesh well with him, and it was a fault of his to put any blame for imperfection on others... but so far, Tobias had been his best pairing... despite their opposing mind sets. They both held a common objective and goal, and so Valory ignored the snarky expression that made his fur want to bristle...
Pleased to see that Tobias landed his jump, Valory went along with his own foot work, gathering the more technical points they'd need to garner a solid score.

RP Response: They glided across the ice in perfect tandem, showing off some fancier footwork that only highlighted both of their skills. As focused as he was on his own movements, Valory couldn't help but catch his eye. He was good, even if Tobias would rather choke than further feed his 'partner's' ego. No doubt that Valory was able to afford the best teachers that money could buy... but even then, that would only carry him so far. The kumiho had real skill--and that was what made Tobias determined to keep up with him, if not surpass him.
But not today. Today was about supporting his partner and if that meant making Valory the shining star of the ice, so be it.

Yes, even the common folk could adore and recognize his feats. There was nothing that compared to gaining the approval and praise he so craved for his craft. Lining back up alongside Tobias, he continued to try ignoring that smug smirk that was always plastered on the baph's face, and for some reason made it feel like worms were writhing under Valory's skin.... who did he think he was smirking at so much?
Another lift was coming up, with a smaller jump this time, but it would follow with a triple axle once he was given enough momentum from the power of his partner.

RP Response: Tobias inhaled deeply before lifting Valory high, exhaling as he did so in order to give him the strength he'd need in order for the kumiho to pull off the tricky maneuver. Who else could manage it save for this pompous, spoiled brat? Even as he sneered to himself, he couldn't help but admire the natural grace that his partner exuded, like it came to him as easily as breathing. It'd have been so much easier to hate him if he were a clumsy fool, only carried this far by wealth rather than any real talent.
Ah, if only life were so simple.

The fluffy tails behind him seemed to glisten and shine even more with the twirling he pulled off, the perfectly groomed sheen complimenting his sparkling attire. And as he landed the highly technical and difficult leap, they splayed out to help him find balance again.
Glancing over to see Tobias playing the crowd up with his own foot work, Valory tried to restrain his sneer as much as possible. Someone so uncultured and yet able to pull off such intricate and powerful displays... Valory couldn't ' deny that he felt his gaze constantly drifting back to his uncouth partner.

Round IIIYou’re well into your performance now. Axels, loops, lutzes, salchows, spins, lifts, spirals,—you’ve got it all. Or at least what you can perform safely. For amateur skating though, your visual style is just as important as technique itself. You choose to incorporate… A) River-dancing! I mean you are on a river. Lake. Whatever.
B) The Charleston. Classic moves will get them every time.
C) Some funky, fresh, hip hop moves. Shake what you got!
D) Yoga. It’s weird but it works. You have until December 22nd to respond to this prompt!

With the silky, flowing costumes and the heavy metal music they had pretty much accomplished that. Hoping to be even more memorable, Eira and Klaus had decided to incorporate some vintage dance moves: The Charleston. She grinned at her partner as they began the dance on ice portion of their routine. It was silly, and it was fun, and she laughed as they did their dance. She was still thinking about the way he made her feel, the warmth that spread through her chest when he looked at her in that way of his. He'd never said anything, but maybe he just needed time... RP Response: The music swifty changed to something more soothing to the ears then the former song they chose. Laughing softly to himself he began to smile as he watched her.
For someone who seemed unsure of herself at times she was at home on the ice. To him, she was fluid with it as if one.
He began to concentrate on the routine they had practiced for what seemed like endless days, he knew it did not matter if they won or not but he wanted to win for her. To be seen as a "hero" in her eyes for skating to perfection was what he was after.
Her laughter floated to his ears, sounded like music to him. She had a sweet laugh, it's cadence very pleasing to him. Then again everything about her was pleasing to him.
Sooner or later he would tell her but he hoped it would not be today. Following in rhythm to her movements, he went with the music and let go.

She almost missed a step because of it and she blushed, wondering if he'd caught her slip. The way he watched her, she was sure that he had. Most of the time she hated having eyes on her but when his eyes were on her she felt like a princess. She slid around the ice with him as words filled her head and began to burble up her throat- But she swallowed them down. She just had to focus on the competition. RP Response: Tilting his head to the side, he was curious at why she suddenly mistepped in the middle of their routine. "All I did was smile at her, did I make her uncomfortable?" he thought to himself.
Risking another glance at her her face seemed to have a ripple of emotions convey all at once. Confused and intrigued he watched her for a few more seconds before turning his attention back to his movements.
The music was fun, the movements relaxing nothing to hard and he was having fun with this part of their routine. Taking her by the hand, he squeezed and without thinking brought it to his lips and softly brushed a kiss across her knuckles. Stunned at his boldness, he cleared his throat and began to move into the next set of moves that they had practiced. He knew if she looked at him she would see his face as red as a tomato!

At least until he kissed her fingers. Her gaze snapped up to his face and she smiled when she found a blush coloring his cheeks. So perhaps there was more than friendship in his heart. Perhaps there was more than that in hers, too. As their routine had her sliding into his arms once more, she smiled up at him and curved her hand over his cheek. Moving up on the tips of her skates, she was tempted to place a kiss on his lips but there would be time for that later. She smirked. "Let's win first, okay?" WC: 106
