Vin winced under the pressure of her weight as a tiger. He shifted into a white mouse, slipping out of her grip easily and scrabled towards Bard's desk and hiding behind Bard's feet.

Reaper stared at the two humanoids with a bemused look on her face. She saw the object of their discussion lying on the desk momentarily forgotten. It was a rare copy indeed. She flicked her wrist and a miasma shot from the bracelet she was wearing. It stuck to the book resembling a translucent yet dismembered frog's tongue for a fraction of a second before snapping back into the bracelet carrying the book with it. Reaper caught the book and slowly began studying it for signs of forgery.
"You know you should really get it one of those mini forcefield covers. It won't last long if you keep it out in the open," she flipped through the pages absentmindedly, "the carbide bonds are wearing down."

Bard shook her head. "You're lucky I've been watching you, Vin, or I might have accidently stepped on you."
She looked back up to Techknow in her tiger form. "If you two are going to play 'cat-and-mouse' do it on your own hours, where you aren't going to destroy valuable equipment."

Talia jumped up the run after Vin, but stopped and looked back at Reaper. She listened to what she ahd to say and then nodded. She turned to Bard and nodded. She looked down at Vin and narrowed her eyes. Turning back to Reaper, she shifted her form and stood up. "Thanks for the advice. D'you know where I could get one?"

Vin peaked around Bard's feet to see that Talia had shifted back so he stepped back and shifted into his regular form too. He stood up to his full length. He looked over Bard's shoulder and asked sweetly, "Watcha doing?"

"It appears as though I'm filling in evil, but necessary, paperwork." Bard replied.
"Is there something in particular you want?" She asked, looking up. "Or you just trying to find someone to talk to you?"

"I think I may have a spare somewhere," she said absently, "but if not you find them all the time in the antique shops."
She then smiled, "I actually found a paper book there once. The title was hardly legible. Something about Narnia."

"Yeah...well, what can I say? We've been working together for a little over a year now." She said, chuckling.
Bard listened to Reaper talk to Techknow. "I inherited several paper books myself from my grandmother, but those had been taken care of, except for one series called The Lord of the Rings looked well read. I think Narnia was among those titles. I just put them in storage, maybe I'll look at them someday."

Talia's mouth hang open. "Narnia?!" She looked at Reaper with awe/ "I've read about that. It was one of the grates Christain books of the 1900 hundreds. It had many underlying plot and and and and!!! Oh! It's impossible to find!" She looked around and then saw Vin leaning over Bard and felt the familure, yet disconcerting, feelings of jeliousy. She was distracted when Bard talked about a set of bookd she inharited. "Wait..you own Narnia?? Oh..." Techknow said, whimpering slightly.

Bard nodded. "I think so. I never got around to reading any of the books I inherited, I was too busy studying for school or something. I did look up The Lord of the Rings, though. It was written in the early 1900s and was deemed an epic and remained that way until the last couple of hundred years. There were even movies made of them."

Reaper snickered at Techknow's enthusiasm.
"You know you could always get the digi-books off the museum's database if you're interested," she laughed, "that's how I read Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series. Ooh, I saw the Lord of the Rings movies, really good for a 2D movie."

Vin stood up fully now and crossed his arms as he listened to the girls talk about all sorts books he had never really heard of. "You know...maybe if you girls took your noses out of the books you would have a social life." Vin laughed.

"Unfortunately, I don't even have time to read anymore. It's the job that doesn't allow me to have a social life. I'm either hunting down criminals, testifying at trials, or doing paperwork." Bard said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Talia reach up and pulle dher hair out of it's ponytail, her hair swinging down to cover her growing blush. She took her bookback from Reaper and went to her desk, hugging the book close. "They madea movie out of Narnia. I saw it. Pretty good. I've seen The Lord of the Rings also, yah I was pretty good. For a 2D movie. I've read them as digi-books. I want to feel of the paper in my hands. I want a break from reading things on the computer. I know it's not good for my eyes." Talia pushed up her glases. "There bad enough already." Talia grinned at Reaper. "Who needs a social life when I have books?" Talia said as she stared through her hair at Vin.
Techknow sat down at her desk and looked at her computers. The third one was done. She looked at the results and smiled. "Apperently one of thoes fancy guns was stolen from the feds recently. Anyone other than me thinking its out guys??"
