Smiling back, Rikku treads water for a minute. Then she leans backwards, floating to watch the clouds drift lazily in the sky. "You know, I have the most fun when I'm with you, Ruto."

Naruto smiles and leans back to float on his back in the water, watching the clouds and he couldn't help but think of his lazy friend Shikamara, always watching the clouds. He shakes his head, "Me too....sometimes I wonder....if you had lived in my world...would you have still been my friend, even after finding out about my secret..?" he says softly.

"Of course I would!" Rikku proclaimed softly, though she understood little of his world. "I could ask you the same thing... Were you from Spira. With eyes as beautifully blue as yours, could you have befriended a machina-fixing Al Bhed blasphemer like me?"
She sighed. "We're products of our past. I don't know what my past would have been like if I lived in your world. Would I still have lost my mother? What of Brother & Father Cid? Would I be who I am today without Yunie & being a guardian & fighting Sin & having been shunned by most of the people of Spira? At having Home destroyed & so many of my friends killed all because we were different? I don't know."
She tilted her head to look at him over the top of the water, reaching her fingers to touch his & using her tail like a rudder. "Would you still be you if you were from my world, where fiends are not imprisoned inside helpless infants but are sent to the Farplane by summoners? Where the only evil comes from outside? How can we know?"
"You could go crazy thinking like that. I'm just glad we've found each other. Here. Now. In this place where we can be ourselves, accepted on that alone."

Naruto floats beside Rikku, staring up at the sky, but taking in every word she says. He can feel himself tearing up a little bit. He sort of did wish she had lived in his world, maybe she would have been is friend while growing up. But he knew the villagers would have done something to hurt her or take her away from him. He wondered if it would have been better in her world. He would have found a way to be with her, and it sounded like she had a pretty good family and her people sounded pretty decent too. He turns his head, smiling thankfully at Rikku, "Yea...but I am glad you're my friend now Rikku..." he whispers softly.

She squeezes his fingers & smiles back. "And I'm glad you're mine, Naruto." Her green eyes grew soft with tender emotion. She still wanted to simply touch & kiss him all over, but this seemed just as wonderful somehow. Rikku did not want it to end. "I don't know what I'd do without you... I..."
She what? Rikku really did not know or understand her feelings. "I want to be with you all the time, Ruto. I feel so alive knowing you."

Naruto smiles softly at her words and he forces himself to straighten up in the water and he goes to wrap his arms around her tightly, pressing her close as he whispers in her ear, "I'll do whatever it takes so we're never apart Rikku..."

She sighed into his embrace, snuggling happily against his wet fur. "So will I..." Rikku murmurs gently. For once she just enjoys being close to him without seeking more. Her eyelids droop in contentment. She scissors her legs lightly to stay afloat.

Naruto smiles and purrs, happy to just hold her close. He then pulls back, smiling, "Lets head back to shore before we turn all pruney or something." he says, making his way back.

"Okay." Rikku follows, barely keeping the lightest of touches on his fur. The thief smiles as she watches him move, not even thinking about why she might like doing so. "We should give your shorts a chance to dry before the sun goes down."

Naruto nods as they finally make it to shore and he steps away to shake his fur out, ruffling his own hair about to get any excess water out. He then goes over to his cloths and sits by them, letting out a happy sigh and he smiles.

Shaking herself dry, Rikku brushes at her fur & hair to push the excess water out as best she can. At first she is uncertain whether to sit or stand, but after a moment she kneels facing the shinobi.
"Sorry I tried to freeze your kinda-sister, Ruto." She blushed, remembering both her anger & actions & not really understanding them.

Naruto waves his hand, "Don't worry about it, you don't need to apoligize. Besides, she would have deserved if you froze her overly stretchy a**. Wonder what she was doing all the way out here though, she usually hangs around the Kitsu HQ to catch a glimpes of her daughter and son and maybe her husband." he says, rubbing at his neck.

She smiled at him. Rikku loved when he rubbed his neck or the back of his head like that. "I dunno... Maybe someone sent her, like Trel send AearHwesta to find those she is worried about."

"Maybe...I did forget to let Moochi know I was going out...and I forgot to leave a note. Maybe she sent Helen to see if I was alright, plus, Helen is a superhero!" he says proudly, crossing his legs to sit indian style, smiling a toothy grin.

"I know..." Rikku smiled back at him, touching his knee gently. "That's kinda why I feel bad turning on her like that. My head knows she's not an enemy."
"I'm glad Trel knows what I'm up to, even if she doesn't know where I am. Since she knew about the hover-cycle & that I wanted to take you for a ride." A funny look came to her green eyes as the Al Bhed recalled the odd knowing expression Trelweny had worn the whole time they had talked about Rikku's plans. She wondered what that was all about at the time, & now she still wondered.
