Kaleb glanced up with the spoon still in his mouth, before quickly lowering the utensil back down to the bowl and blushing slightly. "I-I don't think I could eat another bowl," he said quickly. If he attempted it, he would probably feel bad for not being able to finish it.

"You sure? You ate that one pretty fast." He dipped pieces of the bread in the last of his soup to mop it up and get the double tastes. "Desert perhaps?"

"You mean, desert after lunch?" Kaleb asked with a rather surprised expression. "I-I thought desert was only for after dinner." The scrawny mage briefly wondered if this was the kind of thing Demyx enjoyed on a regular basis, it would certainly explain the musician's near-constant sugar high.

"Desert is perfect after any meal. Though generally i would not suggest having things like cakes until after dinner." Demyx generally ate cookies after every meal and he himself was known to find fruit tarts to eat.

Kaleb only looked more surprised. "E-even after breakfast?" For a minute he wondered if Luxord was joking with him, to so casually suggest not eating cakes until after dinner. He was used to cake on birthdays, and that was about it.

"Why not?" He raised a brow and smiled at Kaleb. "Its always good to enjoy the pleasureable things in life, so why not get desert whenever you are given the chance?"

Kaleb glanced down at his empty soup bowl as he thought about what Luxord said. To him, pleasureable things involved a book and a quiet afternoon, although chocolate also ranked pretty high on that list. "I suppose you're right," the mage said as he returned Luxord's smile. Then he abruptly stifled a yawn with the back of his paw, hoping the gambler didn't mistake his exhaustion for an expression of boredom.

He stood and gathered their bowls. "Come on. We'll get you something sweet to snack on. Then you can get back to your studies, or by the looks of it get some rest."

Kaleb blushed as he grabbed his bag off the floor and slung it over one shoulder to follow Luxord. "I-I'm sorry, I haven't been sleeping well lately..." Recently he had only been able to sleep in short naps, and that was when he fell asleep at his books.
He rubbed nervously at one arm, and smiled rather sheepishly. "Thank you, for the meal and everything, I really appreciate it."

He returned their bowls to their proper place and reached over to scratch one of Kaleb's ears. "Set your mind at ease." he nodded slightly as he spoke. "Demyx is fine, you did a wonderful job. No more worries."
He spoke to thoes behind the counter for a moment before he managed to talk them out of a few overly chocolate cookies. "Here." he held the carefully wrapped cookies out to Kaleb

Kaleb smiled, slightly tiltiing his head to enjoy the touch. "I-I think I'll be able to sleep better tonight." He took the cookies with a hesitant glance, turning them over in his hands. "Th-thank you."

He was glad he'd discovered that the younger ones seemed to like having their ears scratched. It was good to be able to calm then down with a simple touch. "Not a problem Kaleb. Now you can have a treat before you wander off into dream land." He chuckled slightly as he smiled at Kaleb.

The little mage carefully unwrapped the cookies with a grateful smile. "Didn't you want one?" He asked, looking over at Luxord with a curious expression before carefully picking one up for himself. It certainly looked good.

"They are yours." He chuckled. "I have pleanty of sweet things to eat at home." The kitchens were always full of sweets thanks to Demyx.

"Thanks again," Kaleb said with a smile, then he took a small bite of the cookie. It was as delicious as it looked, and he finished it off quickly with a delighted grin. He was careful to get all the crumbs off his hand so none of it went to waste.
