The screaming stopped.
"Sleep....the last time I slept...I didn't even know I was sleeping."
Acryn pushed to her feet and glanced around her, eyes wide, until she found where the voice was coming from.
"I know you. You should be dead. We should all be dead."
She was trying to pull herself together, but she felt like a jigsaw puzzle where none of the pieces fit. She opened and closed her hands, flexing the muscles there so she could feel them again. All her muscles were tight, not only from the cold, but from fear, confusion, anxiety. She was ready to move at any moment. A loaded cannon.
"We should all be dead."

Godric, for a fleeting moment, felt sorry for Acryn. Evidently the destruction of Gaia was a taxing event on her already unstable sanity. Pulling off his coat, he held out the tattered garment to Acryn. If he played his cards right, this could be turned to his advantage. After all, when he last left Acryn, the girl and he were on friendly terms. "No Acryn, it is not that we should all be dead. Take my coat and warm yourself up somewhat."

Noticing the tense feelings of Acryn, how every muscle in her body was poised to either run or fight. Though Godric could outrun her, there was no doubt in his mind of that, he did not wish for her to completely snap. This was the second person that she met who would have been willing to talk to him, and it would help him further confirm his own thoughts, if he could just get her to talk.

Acryn stared at the man she recognized, and was trying to figure out whether he would be harm to her, or a good person. She didn't know.
Cautiously she took his coat and slipped it on, pulling it around her thin, frail frame.
"That's what happened. That light. It was death."
Acryn then stood up straight and stared at the man helping her. If anything she wouldn't make herself out to be a victim of anything, not while she was this vulnerable. She still had.....yes, she still had her powers. Her shard. She would be fine, if she could only unscramble her mind.

Godric smiled at Acryn, she understood part of it, but she didn't comprehend all of it. She had to know, even if it drove her crazy. "There are fates worse than death Acryn, and that was one of them. I was there, I saw the being who did all of it, and I tried to stop him. I was foolish, I knew there was no way I could stop him, he had said so himself. Ah, but the fate that would have awaited us, it would have been paradise and doom combined. No more pain, no more suffering, illness, or fighting. What awaited us was not death, but utter annihilation. The gods were not destroyed, and so they captured him, the destroyer, and they undid what he did. So we stand here today. I am surprised that you remember anything at all dear Acryn. Tell me, do you remember your friends? Do you remember me? Geo?"

She listened to what he was saying, unable to comprehend it all. The gods remade us, brought us back. Why did they let her remember?
Acryn turned her head away, tears filling up in her eyes.
"I don't want to remember. But I can. Yes. Geo. I remember you, and Caliesil, and Almon, and Vizierre, Mouse, Aeife, everyone, everyone....Geo. How many are still here, and who is gone."
She looked back up at Geo, wanting to hear the answer but so incredibly scared of it.

Godric laughed a little bit at Acryn's alarm. She wasn't his target at this moment, though it would have been easy to take her shard, he would not attack her while she was in such a state. "Well, I can't say for sure how many are left, I haven't had the chance to see them all yet. But, those who I am aware are still around are Aeife, Antonia, Angel, and myself of course. As of yet, I haven't seen any other demons about, and I would very much like to keep it that way if I could help it. If I had to wager a guess though, I would say that Vizierre is still alive, and so is Necros, Vizierre simply because he was there with me when everything ended, and Necros because I know that coward went fleeing for the Shadow Realm when things got ugly." Godric spat Necros' name with anger and contempt, those two certainly would never get along.

Godric quickly regained his calm compsure, and remembered a question he wished to ask Acryn. "Dear Acryn, tell me, where were you when everything happened? I ask this for reasons of data collection, I am looking for something that I lost when it all happened and I hope to find it." Godric couldn't lie, his own code of honor only allowed him to utter the truth and half-truths, and he knew Acryn well enough to trust her with as much as he just said.

Acryn looked away and bit her lip.
"That's good that some of them are still here...but lugnut and shadow boy are still around...that's unfortunate."
She looked back at Godric and blinked.
"Where was I? I...don't remember much of it.."
She pulled the coat around her tighter and tried hard to remember.
"I know that day I was talking with Caliesil in Quon...and then Void pulled me to him, then took me to his realm. I don't remember how I got out, or if I even did. But I think so, because I remember the light...I might have been here, in the great forest. Because when I came to, I was here. It's only logical you know."
Then she started laughing, and couldn't stop.
"The damn world ended! And I ended up in the same spot! Hahaha!"
Acryn sat down on the ground and continued laughing, wiping tears from her eyes that weren't from laughing, but from really crying.

Godric let out his own laughter, not his manic battle-crazed laughter, but one that was actually humored with Acryn. "It is unfortunate that Tin Man and Bone Bag are still likely to be kicking around, though your answer doesn't really help me find what I am looking for. I spoke with Aeife earlier, she seemed to have some kind of burning conflict inside of her, like she wanted to slay me on that spot for something that I said or did."

It was then that Godric remembered the sad truth, this was a moment of peace, but he would only grant Acryn that honor this one time. He had to let her know where he stood. "Acryn, though I care for you, and wish you no ill intention, but I have to be completely honest. We ARE enemies, you have something that was formerly mine, and I want it back... very badly. I won't fight you for it today, but realize that the next time we do meet, I want you to fight with everything you have. If you grant me that honor when we do finally battle, I will take your shard, but leave you with your life." Godric sighed, Acryn was one of the few humans who didn't really seem to despise him simply because he was a demon, somewhere deep inside of him, that touched him. But he hardened himself to his own emotions, he could not have emotions until he had gotten back what the druids had denied to him. Again he spoke to Acryn, hoping to end this conversation and part ways with her. "Under different circumstances, we might have even been friends. Perhaps someday, when I finally have that which was taken from me, I will let you have a place in the new world I plan to crea-"

Godric stopped suddenly, he had definitely just said too much there. No one was supposed to know his driving ambition, not even Lanthanos knew exactly why Godric wanted the four shards. Standing up, he began to walk away from Acryn, holding the halberd of his escaped targets.

Acryn listened to every word Godric said, and then stood up when he was finished, handing his coat back to him.
"Thank you for not fighting me now. I will fight with everything I have next time we meet, I can promise you that."
She watched him walk away and she wrapped her arms around herself.
Create a new world? He can't...not after what happened already...and how? That doesn't matter. He can't have my shard, he will never have it. I will risk death to protect it.
With a sigh, Acryn looked around, picked a direction, north, and started walking.

Godric had completely forgotten about his coat, he had rather hoped that the elementalist would have kept it herself, but that did not matter at this point. Having lost track of his query, now he was forced to think on his next destination.

The elementalists almost always come through the Great Forest, it is one of the most heavily travelled roads to get to and from the desert. Also, they think it safe since it seems to be a good place to escape from demons. But, the majority of the elementalists choose usually to gather at the temple, nearly every elementalist passes through there at one point or another. So, to the temple my feet carry me again.

Putting his coat on, he knew that he had a long jog to the temple, and so he began his run in the western direction.

Acryn stopped walking and she looked around at her surroundings. The trees were starting to thin out as she neared the edges of the great forest. She started chewing on her bottom lip as she decided whether or not to keep moving north, toward the mountains, and then turn west (for some reason her body pulled her there), or to ignore that and explore the east. Acryn shrugged and turned toward a northwesterly direction and continued walking, exploring why her body wanted to go this way.

The beast prowls through his woods once again.

The thought amused him, that is, Godric. This forest was nearly his, so many passed through it at some point or another, that it was near impossible that you wouldn't be able to find trace of someone's passing through here. As of now, he was sitting at the base of a tree, now dead and rotting from his choice of placement there.

"They had to go somewhere," he thought out loud. "I know that they obviously weren't at the temple, I would have seen them or caught smell of the animal shardholder. The forest is a deadend right now. No one would go to the desert, there is nothing there anymore. That leaves..."

It left the settlements toward the south end of the island, or possibly even the west. Wilderness survival was a harsh thing, even for shardholders. They would go to a city for certain. In a city, humans would give even more information on his target, that could be useful. Standing up, he had caught much of his breath and rested from his battle earlier. It was time to go south. Running, his breathing and heavy steps could be heard by the trees, animals, and the earth, and no other.
