Shunatsu Kala Kirya Classic, Shu. I like it. I just kind of want to do that anyway now. razz 8D The idea's working really well to unite members and advertise our group so far. The idea was that the background music and lyrics to the song is made, and when that's done, everyone else pitches in and record the chorus together. Then another person makes a vid for it. =D But then we'll need musically inclined people to help on this. And someone who can make good videos. But if it goes well, this whole thing will be very rewarding. =) Um... well.... I'm actually a singer, if that's what you mean... *blush* I wouldn't mind helping out, if you guys needed it, it sounds like fun. And I love the idea of recording the chorus together!!! That would be so much fun! How would we do that though?? Also, blissy, I love the radio show idea! What a fun way to get out info! Would we just talk about the ball, or would we have a theme for each episode, and talk about other stuff too?

That's a lot of ideas and information in 6 pages. >.<' Wow guys. I think another thing we could do, (Since someone mentioned Radio stations.) Is a month before the ball, ask our local radio stations, or news stations to tell people about the ball. They maybe interested if it's worded in the right way. Also, I can come up with a list of forums on gaia that we can post ad threads too, these could be used for the updates on the annual balls that some people talked about.

I just had a thought, I've seen these threads in the chatter box that are trying to get to one million bumps, We could start one of our own, and make it "A million Bumps for the Annual Ball." Or something. A lot of people show interest in those kinds of threads, and it would get a ton of bumps. People may not learn per say what the annual ball is, but a lot more people would know it's name.

i can help, im a violinist, clarinetist, and a guitarist. but i only own a guitar and a violin, and im kinda rusty on my guitar, plus my microphone sucks

I could look into online radio stations or something. That way we could all take turns or something...(in middle of mass brainstorm) Oh, and I could take care of the song writing.

Okay so I just looked into it.
I love the idea, we could go two routes. An internet radio station is uber easy to create. We could play music most of the time, but other times we could record interviews or get togethers.
Or we could do a podcast. Or make a youtube channel with various videos. Basically have a rotation where one person a week makes some video to post.

I actually really like the idea of the youtube channel, Sabs. I would say a podcast, but I just don't know that we would get the same kind of exposure that we would with youtube, because people wouldn't really know to look for us...
What kind of rotation did you have in mind? A rotation of the committee leaders and room hosts? Or just committed members? Because if you're on the rotation, we really will need to make sure it's people who will follow through and actually do it, it would really suck to be left hanging.
Also, what kind of videos? All just informative? Or kind of wacky and fun as well?
OH!!! It might be fun, once we have a vague plot down, to set up a sort of "News Station" and post weekly news casts. With an anchor and stuff.
Also, LOVE love love the idea of an internet radio station. There's so much we could do with it!!! We could play music and record interviews and get togethers, as you said, but we could also do contests, etc, through it. I'm just trying to think of things my local radio station has done in the past, like a Halloween Spooky Story Contest and a Valentines Day Poetry Contest.

There have been lots of great ideas so far! xd I think as far as all of these thing that we are proposing, we could get Gaia to spotlight them or something to promote our cause. I don't think that Gaia would have a problem with sending an announcement on facebook because they did an announcement for us on Gaia for the last ball.
A theme song sounds like fun! xd I've had training in opera singing, but I can't do any of the modern stuff at all. If someone is good with making videos, we can make our own "Ball Bloopers" videos to make people laugh, and hopefully get the idea of the ball into their heads.

Radio stations sound whooping great! An internet radio station would really do some good. But yeah, there's a flaw for the youtube channel. Basically what kind of vids would we make? And who can we trust to keep it alive? And the News Station sounds goooooood... 8D What I have in mind a full length theme song. That could be used for all the Balls hereafter. This is the idea I have in mind: It follows with a pattern like modern day songs, and the lyrics should say something about unity, or something like that. I'm just not too sure how the song should swing. Should it be rock-ish, or with more of a dance beat? Should it have rap? This is the kind of style I'm thinking of. With electric guitars and the like. XD Tis just the background music though. By Ekim Or something like this. But tis a little too modern and hard to pull off and it might not fit the overall image we're trying to put into the song. I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but what if we used some popular sites like Twitter and Facebook? We could create a group page and an event page of Facebook and we could send out Twits and Facebook messages so people get updates as to what's going on.
As for using YouTube, we could make commercials, teasers and trailers, and even PSAs about the ball.
