"Mai'mi lass I promise I'll take care of ye the best I can. Same with Connor." He does nae ken if he deserves a family for his past failure but he ken that he wants this one verra much so. He doesnae want to waste any time he has with them so he kisses her fervantly on the lips. The two satiate their mutual hunger and need. Exhausted they both fall asleep again.

Mayumi and Phoebus and Connor arrive back at their lair from picking up some supplies. They put Phoebus' stuff away.

Connor who is sitting enjoying with his parents decides to start conversation. "Mama you never mentioned you had an Aunt Kura. I met a pretty black dragon kissing Aiden so I asked if she knew your uncle Taranis. She said she is Grandpa Reet's sister. she seems nice."
"I didn't tell you about her because I never met her. I guess I have a larger family than I realize." Mayumi wonders whether it's time to tell Connor about her half siblings. She told him about Reet, Pir Martina and Taranis but had not yet told him about Faust andd Ryouchia.
"Yer mam certainly hae a large family she seems to be related to most of the clan." Phoebus is wondering how large her family is. Would the lass mind haeing a few bairns of their own soon. He loves Connor but can't help wanting to hae his mate hae his bairns. Mayhaps it would be something the two of them trully share.

Phoebus helps himself to another slice of apple pie. He really was hungry.

Sometime later after Connor's bath and he went to bed.
Mayumi who was making some winter items with the furs asks Phoebus who was feeding Pern. "Do you think after winter you could show me how to hunt? My dad was going to but didn't have the time."
Phoebus puts Pern down on his Perch goes over to Mai'mi. "Ye hae no need to hunt. Connor and I can do that."
"I know you and connor can i just wanted to learn. I once caught a quail but would like to learn how to catch other things."
Phoebus who was thinking but by spring mayhaps she would be watching his draclings is a bit annoyed at the suggestion that she needed to hunt at all. "But lass ye can fish and cook what else do ye want?"

Mayumi stops sewing looks glaringly at Phoebus, "What on earth is wrong with me going hunting. I'm not asking to go hunt deer or boar maybe just some quail and rabbit?" She had forgotten how chauvanistic Phoebus can be.
"Be reasonable lass i can hunt all ye want and more." Phoebus is thinking just cause Pepper didn't hunt and plan for winter doesn't mean he would do the same.
At hearing that lass comment Mayumi glares at Phoebus and walks out and goes to the bedroom.

Phoebus is confused and pondering what he said wrong. He had nae said anything bad about Pepper he thought it yes but he hae not said it. Why was the lass upset?
Lasses are so hard to figure. He goes to follow and see what he said wrong.

Mayumi who was sitting on the bed fuming sees Phoebus walk in. she glares frostily at him.
"Now lass what did I say that was so bad. Ye look like ye want to kill me." Phoebus thinks to himself she rather look magnificent when angry.
"Why do you think I can't or shouldn't hunt. I survived pretty well with out you hunting for me." Why does he have to be so pigheaded at times.
Phoebus thinks the lass sure has a temper mayhaps it could nae hurt to take her out to kill some rabbits in the woods. Once there mayhaps he could persuade her to forget about the wee rabbits. "Alright ye win lass i'll take ye to go kill some rabbits in the spring."

Mayumi is a bit surprised by his quick agreement but is happy that he changed his mind. "Phoebus, I'm sorry about getting so mad you tend to affect my emotions a bit." She hears a bit of commotion outside in the main lair. "Phoebus what do you think is up. It seems there's alot of activity outside do you think we should check?
"It may nae be a bad idea we could go look" As the two of them are leaving their lair connor comes out ofhis room rubbing his eyes.
'What is the matter it is so noisy outside?"
"We were about to look and see ourselves." Replies Phoebus.
The three leave the lair to go see what the commotion is.

Phoebus brings back Mayu's soup. he helps her sit up and sits next to her not wanting to make her feel helpless he lets her feed herself. He watches her eat and thinks on why it is that he values the regard of this lass more than he does another.
Mayu feeling that Phoebus is watching her looks up fom eating her soup. "Phoebus is something wrong? You usually are not so quiet." Mayumi looks at Phoebus though she has come to love her mate she at times still feels unsure about his feelings and why he wanted her as a mate. She did not consider herself that beautiful a dragon nor that blatantly attractive. Phoebus was the type to stand out in a crowd his striking good looks makes her feel extremely inadequate. She fears that in the end he'll tie of her and loose interest. She at times wishes that she was as pretty as Celeste.
With Connor's father she admits that their common interests drew her to him. However from the first time she met Phoebus in the woods he always had an affect on her. He was not only physically attractive but in a strange way she felt she could talk to him. It didn't matter if it was in anger or part of everyday life.

"Naught is the matter lass I'm glad yer up and seem to be feeling better. i'll get ye more of that tea Kismet left for ye." Pheoebus goes and prepares the tea and returns a short while later. He hands the medicinal tea to the lass.
Mayumi takes the proffered cup and sips the slightly bitter tea. As teas go it's not too bad. She thinks kismet must have added some feverfew to the tea though a good herb against fevers it tasted rather bitter. Wanting o break the silence Mayumi asks Phoebus. "Phoebus about what I asked last night do you mind talking about it?"
Phoebus thinks on what the lass could mean then asks, "Ye mean about ye asking if I ken ye before that day in the woods?" Mayumi nods an assent to is question so phoebus continues. "The day I met ye in the woods I had nae recollection of knowing ye before. I had nae any recollection of ye even after we mated that first time.' He pauses for breath and to form his thoughts. "Twas after we agreed to be mates that i had any memory at all that i may hae ken ye 'ere we met that day in the woods."
Mayumi listens to Phoebus' explanation. So he did know her before but from his explantions she draws the conclusion that he had not asked her to be his mate from that prior meeting. She is curious what he remembers. "Phoebus what about me do you remember?"

Phoebus wishes that she remembers the memory now like he does. He prepares to tell her the earliest memory that is clear to him. Some other times are nae so clear and he wonders if they are his hopes not memories.
"I hae recently become an adult dragon at the time and my da had insisted I go on a trading trip with him. I did go but did nae want to bother with the trading part so I went off with Pern. Pern and I decided to rest under a tree. Ye were up in the tree crying cause another lass teased ye.
I had flown up to chat and try to keep ye from crying." He pauses and wonders if telling the lass the rest of the story would make him seem like a perverted dragon that was into draclings or something.
Mayumi listens to Phoebus' tale as he says it parts become familiar like a story that was being reread. He pauses in his tale and she remembers the rest of the story it was the memory that came to her while they were kissing in the tree before they fell. She continues the rest unable to help herself wanting to see if what she remembers was a memory o just an imagined dream "You kissed me to stop me from from crying and when I asked you why you said it seemed the right thing to do. You said when I grew up you would give me a real kiss and not to worry because I would be pretty when I grew up. Is that the rest of the story Phoebus?"

((I hope it's a harmeless enough memory remembered it's not essential or affect the main event storyline. It was way before then. If it's a problem then just tell me and we can delete.
It's just that I can't work on anything else until I at least write some of this down))
