While (You either meant to write "Why," or you don't make sense,) you little girl, for some whos doesn't care you sure are serious about all this for a simple cartoon, and yes animes are cartoons you get too defensive about all of it, everyone is in entitled to there their own opinion, that's why i I asked a simple question, WHO DO U LIKE BETTER "Who do you like better?" L or Light, that's all I wanted to know. Also everyone 1 is in entitled to free speech, it's called the First Amendment, go to school, get a life, and you sound like a fan girl to me.
Seriously, do you kids learn how to use the net before you even learn how to write? It's really amusing to me. For information's sake, I'm not even from an English-speaking country. And I still make more sense than (tt's not "then," it's "than," see? You still don't know s**t about English, girly.) you'll ever dream of doing when I write.
Tho (Tho, unlike "u" and "y" is an accepted form,) I know why you fangirl Light now... You're a Kira of language. "Go to school, get a life," was it? It bounces back at you the moment you write like you always do.
And while you asked a simple question, you also reacted like a whinny little fangirl to the answer, whereas I presented facts and actual behavior of the characters in question.
That's it, you're out of your league now, thanks for flying in Razor Airlines.
Edited: Hmmm... College English you said? If you have it, use it, though I kindly doubt you do, you write like you're 13 and not paying attention to English classes at all. ("Then" instead of "than?" Classic fangull language, kiddo.)
Any more insulting posts from you, and I'm showing you the Gaia equivalent of a Death Note. Class dismissed.

You're telling me to go to school?
You, the one won can't write a coherent sentence?
And it's not "taking it seriously" it's "knowing what you're watching," if you want to keep the little fangirl delusion that Light is a hero, do so, but try hitting puberty, learning how to write, watching the whole series, and gathering enough actual data, before trying to argue facts. It's what Light would do, after all.
And please, I know I'm a mod and all, but don't force me to spellcheck your freaking posts just so I can make sense of them. It's not polite to kill English like that.

It is not the tool which is evil, but the user. Light chose to use the DeathNote. He willingly writes names down, knowing people will die when he does, so how can he not be called the villain? By the way, he dies like a little girl in the anime, too, if you haven't gone to check yet.
Is your "love" for Light actually justified? Or do you just like him because he's the main character? I know people like that. It's okay to like a psychopath... but, is there really a reason or do you just like that he's a main character?
(This next bit is irrelevant) Riiight... Everyone is entitled to free speech? Keep thinking that. Do you even know the state of the world? While you live in your cozy little world where you can talk as you please people suffer for so much as thinking about an opinion of their own. Free speech? Nothing is free in this world. You can speak freely because you step on so many other people. Do you even think about anyone outside of your little world? Not everyone lives an ideal life that lets them speak freely. Besides, the First Amendment only exists in a place called U.S.A.

Off topic: Said by someone famous, free speech is often called upon as a compensation, by people who seldom use their freedom to think. (Not the same words as the original quote, but I don't remember it right now and I don't want to sound like Minako Aino.)
And yep, calling forth the First Amendment on people who don't even live in the U.S. is like me saying I'll use the Shining Knuckle on you... High chances you don't know what it's about, and if you do, higher chances you won't care.
Freedom of speech tho... In my country, we can walk around the city saying our government sucks a**, and nobody will look at you disapprovingly. It's because everywhere in the world, people holds no power whatsoever, other than voting like little lambs every X years. Be glad in your country, mermaid, you can choose not to vote.
On topic: Good to know, I've seen the DN Spanish dub and it reeks (seriously does,) so I'm glad I don't have to watch it all to find out now. I'm not saying L wasn't evil, nope, he's got his evil moments.
I'm not saying Light was a bad character. I'm saying he was a villain, and some villains are respectable, yes (Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin, Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia,) and Light was, to a point, respectable, but once he started doing the "hate every ******** that's in your way" thing (I like Marylin Manson for that line, it quite defines many characters and RL persons,) he lost my sympathy, and I was frankly just waiting to see how he dies.
And then he did the dumbest mistake, and died in quite a "saw it coming" way. That was disappointing.
It wouldn't be the first time the main character ends up being the main villain (or a pretty powerful villain,) too. It happens often in movies, and I've seen some anime shows using that premise (Shinzo is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about that.)
So, to sum it up, Light was killing to gain power and become a God. He killed for personal reasons, regardless of what the world thought of him. He even went into killing almost anyone who stood before him. And that bit of almost is what makes him a villain and not an outright a*****e From Hell (Sephiroth, anyone?)
And while I may not like the late series' Light, up to that stupid mistake, he was pretty smart. As far as intelligence goes, however, L was smarter (he never stopped thinking Light was the one,) but Light was just lucky enough to have some data his foe didn't have.
If it had been up to a battle of raw wit, Light would have died at Page 30 or so. Light's got allies behind him, and that's what saves his hide, not his Godlike Intelligence, in most situations. All it took was one of those allies turning against him at the worst possible moment, and it was the end for him.
BTW, the manga ending leaves it all a bit too open, Ryuuku or some other Shinigami could get bored again sometime and drop one (or a dozen) Death Notes down to Earth just for the hell of it. (And it would be fun to watch if there were two super-smart Kiras around, not just one. A short battle, most likely, but still very fun to watch.)
All in all, I can say who I think is the worse character of the whole series is: Higuchi, the Yotsuba Kira. He fell for it all so easily it wasn't even fun (and the holding himself hostage bit was just... Golden. In such a serious story, those few moments when you can actually laugh out loud are highly sparse.)

Cute. I think. Though I'm not sure, really.
Okay, I would argue your point if I could understand what the heck you're saying. You say you have college level of English? Bullshit. I haven't seen you use it yet. And thus, like my signature says, you're an uneducated buffoon until proven otherwise.
So, don't make me get rid of a minor annoyance, okay? You're so angry about someone not liking what you want, that you have to keep on pushing the issue in whatever direction you do? (Because, frankly, I'm not going to attempt making sense of your posts, they should make sense on their own. You say you're here to talk to your peers, but I don't think your peers can really get what you say, not without reading your posts very slowly and carefully.)
I'm 30 and writing like a thirty years old should. From your writing, you shouldn't be in Gaia either, three years old shouldn't be in the internet, they should be playing Hello Kitty games.
You're the one being immature here, calling upon the First Amendment because you can't write (hah!) or insulting someone because they don't agree (then again, your writing itself is already insulting enough.)
One more insult from you, and you're gone. I'm not playing. This is the last off-topic warning I'll give, one more off-topic post of you and you're gone.
Not because you're right or wrong, I frankly don't care by now, but because your way of writing is annoying and doesn't work outside your little cluster of fanbrats.
On topic: I never said I liked L and hated Light (despite what some half-brains may read in my posts.) Nope. I consider them both the same, they're both evil in their own way, and yep, they both had it coming.
I just think L has a more, let's say, heroic death than Light. He dies looking at the villain in the face and knowing the truth all along, Light's all "Oh my God what do you mean there's no afterlife? Eeek I don't want to die, please erase the name from the Death Note! I don't want to die! I don't want to die! Noo! Urrrgh."
Well, it more or less went like that. I was hoping for him to stand proud, cold, calculating and mighty even in death. He went "out of character," and that kinda beats all his work building all that self-confidence facade thus far.

Light also more or less got himself killed. He says "My win Near." or something like that after Mikami writes their names down. At least in the anime. If you and your enemy are face to face, but they don't know who you really are you don't go and say "I win." to their face.
Off topic: I live in the U.S. That doesn't stop me from knowing what it could be like elsewhere. Not everywhere is ideal. If you keep that "Freedom of Speech" stuff going you won't get far.

It's kind of funny that Nia and Mero looked so much like L and Raito.
Well, Mero was more like Raito's psychotic side mixed up with L's sugar-high side. Cute.
But yeah, Raito made some dumb blonde mistakes along the way, after L was dead. I think it's because he didn't really consider anyone would ever be as much of a challenge to him as L was.
Happens to the best player, if your rival isn't around anymore, you may lose your desire to play. I bet Raito felt like he was playing Capture The Flag against himself.

I agree with that. Do you find it odd Near (or however it's spelled where you are) is about 17-19 and he play with toys. He uses them for the investigation, but I still find it odd.
If we bleach Raito's hair a bit more he would be blonde. Maybe being near Misa too long made him blonde. (That's sarcasm by the way)
On another note, noone ever talks about Matt. He's a really minor character, but he's still important. He's the one who gets shot to death after Takada's kidnapping. sweatdrop

I apologize to the true fans of Death Note for having to pull yet another off-topic post. If you've been following (hard to do, I know,) bluemermaid's posts, you'll be glad this post's here, though.
Yep, just keep on insulting me because you can't spell, you're a psychotic little punk and you have unchecked sexual tension. You'll never get the real message behind the whole Death Note plot, and who knows, maybe you'll be another shooter kid some day, and make Light proud.
The only real insult to me, as I said before, is your grammar. It's really amusing to see things like you falling head over feet over characters who are extremely smart and mature. I would think it would be a turnoff.
So, from now on, you're either posting something relevant to the thread, and with good grammar, or your posts are going to magically vanish. Banning you would be the easy way out, after all.
And the insulting of adults, that's quite funny. First you praise the first useless amendment, which was written by, guess what, adults, and then you go insulting an adult next thing.
Bah, scratch that, I think you're insulting the first amendment just by posting the way you do. My cat types better than you do, and all he does is run over the keyboard.
So, I'm keeping those two last posts as Exhibit A and B, and deleting anything else you may think of posting insulting anyone who OH MY GOD disagrees with you.
And me being single? None of your business, but I've been living with my significant other for four years now. After seven previous relationships. See, that's the difference between maturity and immaturity, you're insulting me based on suppositions and guesses, I'm insulting you based on your lousy grammar (which is a fact, a very visible one,) and your psychological state (which is also quite visible from your post.) And don't worry, you're not the kind of 'kids' I like hanging around with. I have friends that may be younger than you, but can hold an intelligent conversation, something you fail (right right right?) If you're ever banned, be certain that it won't be me doing it, I'm sure that you've pissed enough crew members with your off-topic word chains by now.
So, hereby I declare a No Bullshit state on this forum and specially this thread. Any off-topic bullshit will be deleted on sight, no questions asked, no quarters giving.
Have a nice day. Or not.

Tsuyuki Hitori I agree with that. Do you find it odd Near (or however it's spelled where you are) is about 17-19 and he play with toys. He uses them for the investigation, but I still find it odd. I spell his name Nia because the manga translation I've read kept the names Japanese (no Light, Near or Mello there.) It is odd, then again I'm still playing videogames and I'm 30 (then again, that's the actual average population of gamers worldwide, despite what some reality-detached minds may think.) Quote: If we bleach Raito's hair a bit more he would be blonde. Maybe being near Misa too long made him blonde. (That's sarcasm by the way) Oh, so THAT is why he got killed. A dumb blond moment. My theory would be, maybe he was about to reach Super Saiya-jin state. Then again, he's a redhead from what I could see... So he was already at SSJ4 to begin with. And those guys can also kill you without touching you, and from half a planet away. Coincidence? Hmm... Quote: On another note, noone ever talks about Matt. He's a really minor character, but he's still important. He's the one who gets shot to death after Takada's kidnapping. sweatdrop Side characters are often ignored by fangulls. I liked Weddie, for example, and what she got? An off-screen accident, and no fans (come on, she was a pro hacker. And hot. Only thing she needs to be outstanding is to know how to use a gun... Wait, she does.) Happens in all fandoms, tho. I like Hak(k)u and Zabuza from Naruto, but I've found little in the way of fanfics or forum topics about them. I like Umino (Melvin) from Sailor Moon, but yet he goes unnoticed since there's Mamoru, Dimando, Kunzite and that transexual freak Seiya for fangulls to drool over. So yeah, Matt is a good character, but nobody tends to notice him since there's Nia, Mero and Raito to drool over. Not that I don't drool over Misa (specially post-L, she looks cute the few times she shows up,) but I can still admit she's got plenty of dumb blonde moments and is generally annoying (in a cute way, unlike, let's say, Sasami from Tenchi who's just annoying to me.)
