How long have you been active on Gaia? Since 03. x)
Take any big breaks between then? A few early on as I was settling in I didn't use the site much, but it's my homepage so it's always here.
How long have you been interested in Cooking? Several months actually, it's a recent obsession.
You work somewhere to use your talents for cooking or food knowledge? No. ):
I'm Joanne, and I'm obsessed with cooking and baking...I love glossy food magazines, and spend far too much time on allrecipes.com. I probably spend more time looking at recipes than I do actually making the food, but whatever. o 3o
I love making cheesecakes and pasta dishes. heart

i dont remember 2004 maybe i started gaia when i was sick for a while some where in that 2 year blur

How long have you been interested in Cooking?
for ever. in third grade i wrote an essay about what i wanted to be when i grew up most other kids said docter, police man, rollercoaster tester, one girl said flying pig i said food critic. so as i said before i was sick for two years half my time i spent on gaia the other half watching the food network my passion was reignighted
Any favorite TV shows (Cooking and non allowed)?
chef, iron chef, anything on cartoon network or boomarang. law and order csi and many more
You work somewhere to use your talents for cooking or food knowledge?
i just started an internship a the white dog cafe in philladelphia its known for its organic and buy loacal practices

Hi, I'm Sakura! I'm a lover of food, cooking, and pretty much all that stuff in general. sweatdrop Been interested in cooking since... well, probably since I've been extremely little. My parents are awesome cooks (don't do it for a living, though), which means I got some pretty cool 5-star food every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
I've been here on Gaia for just over 2 yrs. now, and I have had to take some pretty long breaks in between, just because I need to spend more time on my schoolwork and such.
As for my favorite food-related shows, I'm a fan of pretty much all the shows on Food Network, 'specially Good Eats, Unwrapped, Iron Chef, and $40 A Day. ^^;; Out of cuisine, detective shows (ex. Law and Order, Monk), reality shows (ex. Dancing w/ the Stars), and others (ex. Smallville, Gilmore Girls) are my kind of thing.
So, can't wait to check out this guild more in-depth! ^^ Seems great. Here's Sakura... out!

Off and on since I don't even remember when. It's also way too early for me to remember how to check.
Take any big breaks between then?
Quite a few, mostly when I wasn't working at the internet cafe and couldn't surf for hours and get paid for it. You know...I actually had to work. It was frightening.
How long have you been interested in Cooking?
I've been interested in cooking since I was around ten. My grandmother worked alot so most of the time cooking landed on me. After all that I got back into cooking when I was living on my own and could make anything I wanted to try out.
Any favorite TV shows (Cooking and non allowed)?
The original Iron Chef, it was cheesey and I loved seeing the strange ingredients they used. Unless some random cartoon or movie is on that I've been dying to see, it's always on Food Network here. Ace of Cakes is my new favorite.
You work somewhere to use your talents for cooking or food knowledge?
Sort of, I'm doing the whole housewife thing, and my husband is allergic to a few things and my room mates daughter can't have too much sugar and on top of it all I'm trying to eat a little healthier so planning meals can be a complete work of hair pulling stress.

Hey all. My name is James. I've pretty new to Gaia, actually. Started 2 weeks ago. I've been into cooking since I was about 12. I always wanted to try dishes that my mom wasn't so keen on preparing, and I studied recipes and tried them out. Developing my own flavor profile as I went.
I'm a big fan of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. I've enjoyed his stuff ever since I read Kitchen Confidential. We share an ethos about food, in that you'll never see great food at the chain, box restaurants - you're more likely to find them at some hole in the wall in a seedy part of town serving authentic regional/ethnic cuisine. I'm also a big fan of House, M.D.
I don't use my cooking techniques anywhere except at home and for friends and family. I have, however, been delving into molecular gastronomy (I'm a biochemist), and using chemistry techniques in my cooking. It's been interesting, and the flavors develop differently, making for newer experiences.
I think I've rambled enough though, so I'll just close with - Hello. biggrin

Hiii I'm Malice.
I've been on Gaia for about.. jeez.. like 4 years off and on.. o_o I've taken quite a few breaks in between then, mostly because I didn't have a computer, or I was bored of the site at the time being. I tend to come on atleast once a day to see whats going on in the Gaia world.
I've been interested in cooking probably my whole life, I use to cook in the kitchen with my mom and my Nana, still do and I love it. I love trying new and old things out, food is godly.
Tv show wise, anything really on Food Network, love that show Unwrapped. I love Italian food, Chinese food, anything salty and scrumptious.
Lol. I think I love food more at the moment then ever before party because I am 4 1/2 months pregnant, yay me, hope its a boy. <3
At the moment I don't work, I guess you could call me a homemaker, but having to take care of my husband is quite the job itself, can hardly imagine how its going to be when the little one is around.
So yeah, I'll stop spilling my whole life and say I can't wait to share and learn all those nifty recipes.

Biggest rule on this thread (other than no L33t, and proper spelling) is just relax, tell us about yourself, and enjoy. 1)im not the most active person on gaia but when i have time and i remember to get on ill check up on a few things here and there, 2) YUP 3) about a year now, i fell in love with it when i became a waiter at a high end restraunt, 4)wait cooking shows not allowed? hmmm cartoons i guess... 5)YUP IM A COOK! ITS A DREAM COME TRUE!!!

Well I have been on gaia sevral years, not under this account. I took a big break and forgot my other account name and password... Anywho I have been cooking for 7+ years. I used to be a terible cook, but after years of practice, I can out cook all my friends and they have taken all 3 of the foods classes at my school and I have taken none. Some of my other passions are studing cars (not how to build them but diffrent types of cars, Prefer Older American and older japanese (80's) cars, and very few europeans.) My favriot Cooking show has to be Good Eats, and favriot non Cooking would have to be the Bebop, then Gungrave. I don't have a job at all, but I cook for my schools international club and my dishes are the first to go next to the rice balls. I also cook for my friends and family alot.
