With the setting sun to her back, Aska stepped lightly around the tide-rocks, dabbing her hand this way and that and collecting small crabs and clams.
"Hmmm...Some leeks would go well with seafood soup..."

Aska brought the basket of seafood back to the cave, searching for the fire. Finding one, she searched around for a small tin to cook the food in. She dipped the tin into the vat of freshwater, then tossed the crabs and clams into it. She set it over the fire to cook for a while as she went out to search for some vegetables for the soup.

At a hill not far from the cliffside caves, Aska was able to find some wild onions and celery. Cutting through the forest heading back to the cave, she stumbled upon a colony of mushrooms growing in the shade of a tall redwood tree. Collecting that, she made her way back.

Aska stopped by the tin over the fire to see how her shellfish were doing.
"Good," she said, "the crab looks just about ready..."
She fished a broken piece of glass she found and used its sharp edge to slice the vegetables she found on a flat rock. Finishing that, she tossed it into the Seafood Soup and watched it simmer for a while.
"Darn, I should have dried salt earlier for taste..."

"Need salt? I have some sea salt here in this little clay pot." I found the pot in the old ruins on the hillside.
"Here ya go." She handed her the salt.
"Mmm it smells good already!"

Aska smiled at Alex as she entered the cave, tucking back a lock of hair.
"Oh! You have salt? That would make this soup absolutely perfect," she said, and sprinkled some in. "There, now we have to wait for it to simmer and cool. One the crab shell is soft enough, we can take it out and de-shell it."
She stirred the soup a bit more, then remembered Alex mentioning something about ruins.
"We have ruins on this island? Interesting...maybe we can go check it out while the soup cools?"

((wow this moves really fast, sorry I can't rp that quick >.<))While the others had gatherd food Destani had dragged herself along the beach gathering debris, she brought back parts of the ship, multiple suitcases, various articles of clothing, some kitchen utensils, a broken clock that she hoped she could fix and various other random objects tht had washed up on shore. She piled all her findings just outside the cave's entrance and sorted it into clothes, bedding, and other such groupings for easier access. With the large pieces of fiberglass from the ship she built a sort of shed around it. After she'd finished the days work without really seeing any of the others she went back into the cave to find them. "Mmmm that smells wonderful." She extended a hand to the new girl "My name is Destani" She looked to Alex and Adam "I found a bunch of debris from the boat and built a make-shift shed just outside the cave, it's all in there, help yourselves."

Alex nodded at Destani. "Thanks!" She said happily.
"Mmm the soup smells good. I suppose we could check out the ruins, although my stomach is grumblin' somethin' mad."

Looks to Alex, "I'd love to see the ruins, they may give me a better idea of where we are. If you could take me after we eat that'd be cool."

She sat down and started to eat as well. She looked tired and worried as she sat there in silence, she was lost in thought trying to recall her lessons back in school about the world, history, geography and all that jazz.

((Two new char pics are added! Looking back, I may redo the first two. At first I wanted to use grey outlines and make them appear 'soft' but it wasn't working so now I may change Alex and Adams pics.))

((Whee! My piccy is up~ heart ))
She got up and watched the other two eat.
"Hey, I'm glad you like it," she said, "I loved to watch my mother cook, and I tried to remember how she made her Crab Soup."
She cleaned up after them, putting utensils away and finding a spare tin to put the leftovers in.

((OMG It's awesome Nozomi! I love it!!!)) After finishing the soup she went to the shed she'd built and drug out a medium size purse of sorts and tossed it over her shoulder. "Thank you Aska that was delightful!" She started towards the beach. "I'm going to go search for more useful debris and survivors."
