After shaking his head to get rid of his ears ringing from Tseng's backhand he patted Kaleb's head. "Another day, another dollar, and another pretty piece of a**"
He sighed again almost defeated. It really was useless trying to get Reno to behave. "Go keep Rude company before you kill him on accident"

Kaleb barely reacted to Reno's pet except to blush harder. He really shouldn't have asked, because now he had to wonder how Reno had found a place for such dalliances, and what other things he did when he was supposed to be working. It was not a comfortable train of thought for the young mage.

Kaleb frowned and shook his head as if to jar the thoughts back on to a less embarassing topic. He took a deep breath and tried to think about his magic, and luckily his blushing began to fade as he was able to focus on something that didn't involve dirty mental images.

He straightened his jacket from where Reno had rumpled it from leaning on it. At one time he'd thought Reno would stop being so dirty but now he knew it was just hopeless to think that

Kaleb bit his lower lip. "I-I assume that's something else I'll have to get used to..." He said as he reddened just a bit. It would probably be less stressful to adjust to that aspect of the job than the violence, he liked Reno, and it wasn't likely he would end up with nightmares.

"Yes. Sadly Reno's mouth is one thing everyone has to get used to." He shook his head. "And sadly the only way to shut him up is to shove something in there so he cant talk"

It was a good thing the healer was still too innocent to comprehend the full range of items that could be stuck in Reno's mouth to keep him quiet. "It's not always that bad," Kaleb said, "He can be really nice sometimes."

"He has his moments" He looked at Kaleb again. It was probably a good thing that Kaleb didn't understand what could be used to silence Reno.

Kaleb smiled, most of his earlier embarassment completely forgotten. At least, it would be forgotten until the next time Reno decided to enlighten him on one topic or another.

Rufus eventually managed to ditch the crowd that had gathered around him and walked over to Tseng and Kaleb while rubbing his muzzle.
"For the love of every god in existence get me out of here."
Tseng looked slightly worried for a moment but quickly just put an arm around their Boss. "Tired of their chatter already?"

When Rufus came over to talk to them, Kaleb tried really hard not to blush. It didn't help that he couldn't quite look up to meet his employer's eyes. The healer kept telling himself it wouldn't be this awkward once he got used to what he had heard earlier in the evening, but that didn't help him much at the moment.

Rufus looked at Kaleb and moved his hand from his muzzle. "The ladies got to you didn't they?" He didn't wait for an answer and headed for the door where Rude was. He could get out before someone wanted his attention and get away from all this.
Tseng looked at Kaleb and with a hand on his shoulder turned him to follow Rufus

Once he was turned around Kaleb followed Rufus rather bashfully, earning a small twitter from a pair of girls who had been speculating about him earlier. He was relieved to be leaving, the social pressure was rather stressful.

At the door he spoke to Rude for a moment before the large one and Reno headed out in front of him. He wanted nothing more to do with the gathering and it was bad enough he had to talk to half those people for business.
