"Oh..." He nodded looking let down. "So...uhhh... when did you want to head out after that treasure stuff?" He tried to cover up that he was a bit hurt by changing the subject.

She looked at him again, brow raised. She realized he was upset about her and she put her hand on his shoulder quickly and looked at him in the eye. "Look, I can tell you are upset, there is no use hiding it." She said calmly. "But I would like to tell you I have no intimate feelings toward you. I realize that you being male and all, probably have them for me." She put it as simply as she could without sounding like a jerk as much as possible. "If my being here causes you to be perpetually upset, I can leave. I'll travel alone. If you want that, romance, intimacy, you should find someone good for you and settle down with them." She patted his back.

He forced a smile "Naw, it's ok, I'm not hurt, just a bit disappointed, I just thought maybe you liked me a little." He ssighed "I'd still like to travel with you if you won't feel awkward around me." He chuckled a bit "Familiarity breeds fondness I've heard, so maybe you'll come around." He winked playfully to her.

"Oh I see, well..." She looked at him, then away. "Maybe that is so but I have felt neutral toward you all this tine; even at the Underground that night. Perhaps my heart is slow to spark, eh? At any rate..." She got up and began to write in her book again, stretching her arms every so often.

"Probably is..." He yawned a bit looking at the clock, it was only 9. "Hey, would you want to head out to one of the taverns and try to gather more info?" He smiled to her, he wanted to just get out and see more of the town and had other plans in mind.

"Alright, I suppose we could look around more. Although if you mean info about the cave...I think I have what I need." She nodded, putting on her leather armor.

"Great, just one thing? Why not wear something a little more comfortable... you don't have to wear leather everywhere y'know" He got up and grabbed their cloaks.

"Ah...I see what you mean but this is all I have and it can get a little chilly outside at night. Plus if someone were to attack me I'd have a bit of, you know, protection." She strapped her sword on for good measure.

He rolled his eyes. "Fine, we're going to find you something, ANYTHING, in the market then that you can wear." He stuck his tongue out. "You can't have fun if you're ALWAYS on you guard." He opened the door and held out her cloak for her to take as she went past, with a smile. "C'mon Miss Prepared."

She rolled her eyes back, "If you insist. Although we ought to wait until we find that oodles of treasure before we go off spending lump sums of money on new armor for me. I could even buy dye for cheap and try making this fabric darker or a different hue if you're tired of looking at this color." She indicated the fabric that made up her under-armor. It was a deep shade of blue.

He shook his head laughing. "Not armor, we're going to buy you clothes that you can wear out in the evening so that I can take you dancing and you won't be so constrained. Clothes that you can dance in comfortably. Clothes that may or may not 'protect' you as much as you'd like, but that are breathable, for you and myself. I don't expect you to wear girl poofy dresses and do your hair, though I do think you'd look rather attractive and would have to wear your sword to fight the men off, but at least occasionally wear something more common. Not everyone tromps around in armor with a sword at their hip, and that can sometimes bring you more trouble than wearing NORMAL clothes."

"You're right...this armor resembles the castle and old times too much. Especially the engravings on the shoulderplates...I should buy something that resembles what an adventurer would wear. Besides, I think it's easier to dance around in slacks anyhow...though I highly doubt any tailor or seamstress in this town manufactures dress slacks for women. I should have to buy mens or have them measure me for custom slacks. I think these below-the-knee black boots would go nicely with any outfit, though. How about this...if you see something, pick it out for me and I'll tell you if I'd ever even consider being seen wearing it in public." She winked and chuckled a bit.

"Okay..." They walked along the shopping arcade, looking around at the various stores. Most were mercantile related shops selling things like soap and beeswax, candles and dried goods. There were a few street vendors. She figured it was around 6PM and things were beginning to hop.

He stopped at one shop selling various clothing. "Let's go in here." He went in smiling and greeted the merchant. "Good evening, we're just browsing for now." "Fair enough, my name is Rex, call me if you need ANYTHING." "I will indeed Rex." They nodded to one another then Eric turned to her "See anything you like?"
