Renkon Root I want to know why people keep reading a story when all they have to say about it is how terrible it is or how much they disagree with everything that's happening in it. I mean, if you think this story is so horrible, why are you even still reading it? Is somebody making you? Why don't you just close the tab and go read something else? Bleh. I got an answer for that but it only applies to my story. So, despite how the reader loathes one of the main characters and found it so terribly difficult to get halfway through my story, she's "sticking with it" in the hopes that I'll write a sex scene. Oh, and she's doing me a massive favor by putting my story in her alerts, apparently.

The story is rated M and the main pairing has already done some over-the-clothes-petting stuff. But still, if that's the only thing a reader cares about, why do they have to comment on every single chapter? If all they want is porn without plot why not wait around until the lemon happens? Or better yet, go find some other author who writes nothing but PWP! Goodness knows every fandom out there is overflowing it them.

Renkon Root Hm. Ya know, that could very well be the case with my disgruntled reviewer as well. The story is rated M and the main pairing has already done some over-the-clothes-petting stuff. But still, if that's the only thing a reader cares about, why do they have to comment on every single chapter? If all they want is porn without plot why not wait around until the lemon happens? Or better yet, go find some other author who writes nothing but PWP! Goodness knows every fandom out there is overflowing it them. Right? I thought everyone knew that with the right filters (and by the writer saying so in the summary) you can find all the smut you want, even on FFnet. Now I have a lost soul telling me that my protagonist won't reach true character development and "get out of her shell" until she has sex with a certain character.

You may have to use the... block feature. If it's FFnet, that is. You can't keep them from reading your story but they won't be able to leave anymore reviews if they're signed in. I've never done it myself, but I hear that's how it works. neutral

I've never done it myself, but I hear that's how it works. neutral I try not to do that. I mean, his comments are annoying, but they're not hurtful. He's not attacking me personally, just the story, and every now and again he does make a valid point about something. So, while I don't like them, his reviews can be helpful. They're just so NEGATIVE I don't understand why this person insists on wasting their precious time reading my terrible fic. But I will take your suggestion under advisement.

The first two hours after an update are the most nerve wracking. Will they love it? Will they hate it? Does the chapter fall flat?

At least your guy leaves you more than a 3 word review. I'm dead serious. Without fail, there's a guy who leaves the SAME. REVIEW. FOR. EVERY. CHAPTER. stressed burning_eyes And it's always "I like it". I have been wanting to block him since as early as chapter 10 omg... evil
