With that memory she soon faded into sleep, wondering absent mindedly why Matthew kept tensing beneath her but was too tired to analyze it. Fragments of memories swirled into her head and made her whimper slightly in her sleep.
Belial was staring down at her, the usually composed angel's eyes filled with disgust and malice. His naturally calm voice scared her for it was tinged with harshness, like he was silently shouting at her.
"Well let me ask you once again, what were those bodies doing in your room?"he didn't yell but the tone of his voice betrayed his calm facade, he believed her to be guilty!
"I don't know,"she replied, her voice sounding timid and meek,
"I just came in and they were lying dead,"she choked on a sob that rose unbidden from her chest.
"Then why was the their blood all over you,"his voice rose slightly yet it still remained at a reasonable volume yet it wasn't that that scared her; it was the contained power behind it, as if any minute he would strike her down and from the look in his eyes it seemed as if he was considering it. She averted her gaze from his and turned to study the bell that hung at his side; the silver shined although there was barely any light in the shadowed room and although she was sure it hadn't moved she felt sure she heard a muffled chime.
"Why would I do that?"she managed to get out staring at Belial with anger,
"Why would I kill them? What would be my motive?" her voice was tinged with hysteria as tears left her eyes, glistening on her cheeks but for a moment before beginning there trek down the side of her neck. He looked at her for a moment as if studying her before replying coldly,
"We have a witness." Her eyes widened considerably,
"A witness? Who the he-" A figure stepped out of the shadows and her eyes narrowed at who was revealed in the dim light,
"Not-" She gasped as she felt air rush against her and found herself desperately trying to open her wings, to stop gravity from smashing her into the ground. Yet no sudden stop came, instead she dropped through the sky like a stone. The pressure around her wings cut through, holding them unbearably tight together. Looking down at the landscape which was looming into view her eyes widened in fright,
"Oh no. Not there." The craggy precipice coming into view like the fangs of a demon, the scorched black landscape etched into her mind with fear.

Without much ceremony, Matthew's icey blue eyes slid open, staring through oblivion for moment before focusing, pupils expanding and contracting in the beams of light that fell upon the duo's bodies. Leaning forward slowly, the youth stretched out his cramped wings, unfurling each snow white feather with a light fwip. Blinking his tired eyes free of sleep's claws, the Lord slid his hands across Hitomi's shoulders, rubbing some warmth into the areas the blanket had slipped away from in sleep's path.
'Figures she'd fall asleep on my legs,' Matt smiled, although did nothing to assuage the rabid tingling that ran through his thighs where the black angel's weight rested still. Leaning forward, the silvery maned angel pressed his forehead to her shoulder, simply listening to his quarry's beating heart and slow breathing.

Her awakening from sleep was a little more dramatic as her eyes popped open and she gasped for breath. It wasn't Matthew who had awoken her but her dream in which she had been about to slam into the depths of Hell itself. Rapidly blinking her silver orbs she shielded her eyes with one hand,
"Wow it's bright."

"Fear the wrath of the great big burney thing," Matt chuckled, tapping Hitomi's hips as he began to slide up along the pew, suddenly regretting leaving even the most basic components of his halfskirt on through the night. Sliding his index fingers around the loops of his pants, the youth dug the steel and fabric indentations out of his furious red-marked skin.
Squinting slightly as he looked out through the embelished windows, the Lord's lips pursed slightly. The entire square appeared to have been sweapt up by dust, leaving only twisting dirt devils in the wake of the Death Squadron. Sliding his gaze up a little father, Matthew checked the position of the sun, noting the time to around late nine or ten, as clouds still overpowered the fiery sphere of burning gases every couple of minutes. 'Rain, followed by a miserably hot day,' he sighed, loosening his belt before tightening it again.

Glancing at his expression as she staggered to her feet, she also turned to look in the direction of the sun.
"Great big burny thing?"she reiterated, one eyebrow raised before letting out a small chuckle,
"Your vocabulary is quite impressive." She smirked at him from the small distance,
"You have some strange fascination with my hips, don't you?"

"Why, but of course fair lady!" Matthew laughed softly, closing one eye as he traced Hitomi's razor form in the air with two fingers, "Someone should made a statue!" Flicking out his warming wings, the silver-haired youth folded the great feathered appendages to his back until they compacted comfortably before raising a hand to summon his haversack. With single convulsion, the blanket twisted in midair before transfiguring into a decievingly small drawstring bag more suited to travel.
Outside, as though to laugh in the face of the dusty conditions, fat raindrops began to pelt the dried out cobbles, kicking up small explosions of thick dust from the debris of last night's debate.

She just smirked back in response to his joke and turned around to face the outside just as the first raindrop hit the ground. Then another, and then another and before she knew it, it was pouring. She stared at the rain transfixed extending her hand, going past the open gate and she flinched slightly as drops of cool water hit her palm. Then she watched as the small droplets would fill up the inside of her palm before running over the sides, sometimes traveling down the slope of her raised arm or running to the ground to join the small puddle of water below.
"Do we plan to go out in this?"she asked, not looking back at him as she watched the rain longingly.

"We'll have to, I've got to check in on two smaller compounds to the south," Matthew sighed, stepping out into the downpour, silver mane drooping down around his ears instantly as he squinted up into the maelstrom. Turning back to Hitomi's form of dress, the Lord pursed his lips slightly, "If you want to wait here, I won't be gone more than an hour, and then we can head back to town..." Weaving his hands throughout the air, the glyph vibrated for a moment before expanding out into a half-bubble above the young man's head, hanging motionless in the air. While it didn't stop the wind from blowing fat drops of water into his eyes, it certainly kept him exponentially dryer.

She rolled her eyes and this time she turned her head slightly to look at Matthew,
"It's just rain it won't bother me,"she said with a laugh,
"And either way I'll be getting wet. If I go with you, then of course I'll get wet but even if I don't I'll probably still get wet somehow." She twisted half of her body this time, slender black wings elegantly unfolding from her back and gently scraping against the gate,
"But if you would rather me stay here, I don't mind."

With an overdramatic sigh, Matt turned against the typhoon. "Don't expect me to pat you dry when we get there!" He laughed, coiling his legs slightly as his powerful white wings cocked, snapping down as he sprang away from the earth, droplets of moisture flaring away from his wings in a wild spray as he pumped the appendages for altitude.
Even as his feet left the ground, the exhileration of flight took the youth, stiffening every muscle as instinct took over, banishing a calculating mind to wait behind as raw nerves jumped ahead, flying the drenched angel Captain into the heart of the whirling wall of moisture, hesitating only for Hitomi to leave the ground.

She grinned to herself at his unhidden emotions as he pushed off the ground and looking back at the Cathedral before she took off, she stiffened her wings behind her and then with a starting run took off into the stormy sky, feeling exhilirated as the rain slightly stung her cheeks yet it only seemed to heighten her excitement. She smirked,
"Don't worry I think I'll be just fine." Then with a teasing glint in her silver eyes she took off and away from him, the power of her black wings sending a powerful gust of raindrops and wind into his eyes. Stopping in the air a little bit away from him she grinned,
"So what are you waiting for?"

"I was hoping you would scare the storm away," He sighed dejected, casting another arcing smudge through the air to hover suspended above the black angel's head. Pumping his length wings, the silver-haired Lord barrel-rolled past the sodden Hitomi, white mane windmilling with his body. Dragging an arm as he passed by, the angel gave the girl's thigh a light slap before shouting, "You're it!" and barreling through the crushing rain.
Keeping an eye on the landscape flitting past in the downpour, Matthew gave his body slight adjustments to keep their heading pure south.

Growling in frustration she took after the white winged angel, her own wings merely black shadows against the stromy sky. Diving lower and lower she suddenly brought herself up increasing her speed with every powerful stroke of her wings. She brought herself up sharply in front of him and with a teasing smile said and a pat on his shoulder replied,
"Actually I believe your it." And with those words she sped off into the direction it had looked like was going, the rain drenching her so that her silver hair was a shining mass that cascaded down her shoulders; her simple clothing clinging to her petite body. She could of easily casted a spell to prevent herself from being so drenched yet she thoroughly enjoyed the rain.

Pulling on the full air brakes as the young woman appeared in front of him, a silver grin glinted in the twilight as the Lord regained his ground. With the thrill of stretching the muscles that lined his flexible wings, Matthew twirled about as he dove under the black angel, hovering through the air on his back as both hnads came up to tickle Hitomi's sides, "You'll have to fly faster than that! The compound's right below us!" He laughed through the crash of thunder.
Releasing the girl's hips, the youth pitched backwards through the air, folding his wings into a full headfirst dive towards the black form of the ground below, a slight discoloring of grey stone marring the plains of ebony. Tucking his arms to his lithe body, Matthew tossed back his wintery mane, squinting into the maw of the raging storm, releasing both barriers.

She growled and turned around to get him back and she was greeted with his backside as he dived into the raging storm, a grey blot on the forever darkened ground. Sighing she dove after him, slender wings furled close to her back as her light blue hair blew behind her, a reminder of sky in this stormy atmosphere. She was right at his heels and was increasing her speed so that her head was parallel with his waist. She grinned,
"Is this good enough?"she asked as she reached his shoulders, a taunting gleam in her eyes.
