Kaleb perked up quite a bit as they headed out, it was likely his discomfort would be mostly forgotten by the end of the day. If they were going back to the office he wanted to test out his portal spell, it was always better to do those kinds of things before you actually needed to use the magic.

Out in the lobby of the hotel the party had been held in Tseng told Rude to go pull the car around. Reno was chatting up the poor girl at the front desk and Rufus was back to rubbing his muzzle.

Kaleb glanced up at Rufus, blushing a little, but already less timid now that they were away from the crowds. "I-If you have a headache, I could help that..." He offered in a quiet voice.

He looked at Kaleb from under his hand. "I really don't think you can kill all of them so i never have to do that again." He was grinning so it was more of a joke than anything serious.

Kaleb smiled back. "Sorry, I'm pretty harmless..." He said with a small shrug, but then he looked a bit more serious. "I-if you're in pain, you'll let me know so I can help?"

"That's what i hired you for isn't it?" He took his hand away from his head and waited until he saw his car pull up out front. "We're heading back to the office. You may either join is or you may return to your home."

"I-if it's alright, I'd like to go back to the office." Kaleb said, his hands fidgeting slightly. "I had a spell I wanted to try out."

He eyed Kaleb for a moment before he nodded. "As long as you don't hurt yourself."
Snapping out Reno's name he got the red-head's attention and pointed him out the door. Tseng followed Reno with Rufus close on his heels

Kaleb nodded back in an almost excited manner, and quickly followed them out of the lobby. He was pretty sure he wouldn't be hurt a bit by the spell, he had doublechecked his notes agaist the existing literature to be sure everything was in order.

Rufus slid into the car with Tseng and Reno. If Kaleb wanted to try things out that was his progerative, he wanted to get back to the office and then to his home.

Kaleb didn't keep them waiting, and he spent most of the ride back to the office quietly lost in last minute thoughts and preparations.

Once they reached the office Rufus got out of the car and stretched. He seemed to be in a better mood now that he was away from the idiots at the party.

Once he slipped out of the car, Kaleb fidgeted slightly and adjusted his glasses before taking a deep breath. He felt rather nervous, but it felt good at the same time. "I-if this works, I'll meet you up at the office." He said with a bit of an eager smile, and then channeled the proper elements to create a glowing portal in front of him.

Rufus raised a brow but didn't ask. Grabbing Reno by his collar before he could go poking the portal he drug the Turk inside as the other two followed.
The office was quiet and cool and far more comfortable than the party.

Kaleb stepped out of the parking lot and into the hallway right outside Rufus' office, the glowing portal winking out behind him. Before he could feel elated that the spell had worked, a wave of dizziness struck him and he half-leaned and half-fell against the wall next to the door. Of course, first trips through such portals could be quite disorienting.
