Eclipse's temper flared up, "So you think by taking a chance and possibly killing these people is helping!" Eclipse snarled. "I should kill you where you stand for accusing me of doing nothing! Sometimes thinking before acting is the only way to survive, and make other around you not end up dead!" Eclipse unsheathed his blade his dark blue eyes giving such an intense stare, that if looks could kill, Shadow would be torn to pieces.

Shadow stood, the body wasn't responding anyways, and cut off the connection before manifesting a schism. If Eclipse got violent he'd need to be able to manifest powers quickly. "And sometimes acting quickly is the only way Eclipse. There's not always time to think first."

And the thought struck him then. Now was one of those times. Something was definately wrong with Eclipse, he usually seemed reserved at the very least. Shadow would let him attack first but he'd be ready. And so he drew his dirks and tossed them outwards, once more catching them telekineticly. He didn't trust in his physical strength, trusting much more in his psionic strength. And with the dirks floating in front of him he waited. He didn't want to have to fight a comrade again but he would if he had too.

Eclipse knew he was only mad because Shadow was right, but it didn't merit stupidity. Eclipse gave one last cold stare and tightened his grip on his hilt before sheathing the blade. Eclipse knew killing his comrade would do him no good, and he was usual more patient with people. Eclipse spoke calmly and he relaxed his shoulders "Shadow, you can put those away, even if you could kill me you'd find I am like an ember, if given the opportunity, I could desecrate entire forests."

Moving the dirks back into their respective sheaths Shadow smiled. He really didn't want to have to waste his remaining power usage on Eclipse. "Don't think I'd be an easy kill Eclipse, even if we had fought and you won you'd find me back soon. And I wouldn't lose to you twice. Now let's just try to help these people and find out what happened, ok?" And that reminded him, he'd have to manifest an astral seed soon, no point in knowing the power if he didn't use it. Of course that would have to wait, first he had to deal with the matters at hand.

Leon finally tired of watching Eclipse yell at Shadow. Though she had no clue what Shadow was saying to Eclipse, she also didnt' like Eclipse's attitude with him. So far she was not liking either of them very much.

"Would you two stop personalizing this?! It doesn't matter what we would have done... They're all dead. Unless one of you is a priest--Which I highly doubt, given your obvious lack of patience--these people were beyond saving no matter what we did or could have done."

She took a bew breaths, enjoying a moment's silence and hoping it wasn't being interrupted for anyone by Shadow. Finally calming down, she added, "Look at their eyes. It's indicative of what my father used to call a 'seizure.' When any part of the body moves like that, it's because they've lost control over it somehow. Meaning whatever life-force is inside controlling the vessel we call a body is leaving it for another place."

Shadow sighed, maybe Leon was right and they were dead. If so what was there to do here though? Why had the historian told him he needed to come back here? To meet Leon? To see the corpses? Didn't seem likely. Really he couldn't think of a reason they should be here. And everything lately seemed to have needed a reason...

But this was Thanatos work. He had left Jaela alive, mutilated, near death, but alive. Obviously magic could do that, and if this was Thanatos work then chances are at least some of these people were alive.

"Look maybe these are just 'seizures' but I think it's more likely that they're alive, preserved with magic."

((You know, there's other people that need to post too.... domokun stare crying ))

Ashen was unable to summon up enough energy to cast a significant spell, so he resorted to the next best thing. Being a red dragon, he had immunity to fire, and he used it to his advantage, helping a woman he didn't recognize to pull the bodies out of the flames.

As he set them down, Raithe was there to start putting out the fire that still burned on them, taking off her cloak and smothering the blaze with it. Unlike Leon, neither she nor Ashen bothered to sort out who was dead or who wasn't. Either way, all the flames needed to be put out.

When they were done putting retrieving the bodies from their bon fire, Ashen laid down along the wall , spreading his wings slightly on the ground, his sides heaving as he took in quick breaths. Raithe dropped to the ground near the pile of bodies, sitting with most of her weight resting on her arms which supported her from behind. She gazed at the burned bodies, unable to find a way to determine which were still alive, and which were now dead. They didn't seem like they were in any pain...

Her attention was drawn from the thought when she heard signs of a fight about to break out. Sure enough, Eclipse and Shadow were about to have a row. Raithe didn't even make an attempt to interfere. She wouldn't be the right person to stop a fight, since she was normally in them herself. Let them work it out on their own... she figured, turning her attention to the woman who had introduced herself as Leon.

Ashen, having regained some energy, and his breathing stabilized, now devoted his attention to the woman as well. He assumed that since the others hadn't made any hint to her being hostile, she must be fine, and as such, he didn't move to interrogate her. Instead he waited patiently for everything to be revealed to him.

When Ashen caught what Shadow said about the bodies being perserved by magic, he lifted his head attentively. "Yes, like with the little girl in FlameKeep. That was Thanatos' work." He said absent-mindedly, as if thinking out loud.

"Exactly. The explosion, the seemingly alive corpses. Not to mention I stumbled upon a maggot, it all leads to Thanatos. As such these bodies are likely alive. But until either Will or Soveliss get here I doubt we can help them much."

Shadow sighed. That wasn't entirely true, he could probably help a couple but it would be at a steep cost. And he wasn't sure he wanted to risk it.

Eclipse deliberated for a few moments, for that was all he could really do. "I suppose either we sit here and wait for William, or we find him. Personally I'd prefer to wait, I want to make sure these bodies are greeted by the right people if they come to life on their own." Eclipse was speaking more or less of undead. If these beings were under some form of necromancy, they could become hostile quickly and begin making Sharn a new land of the undead. "And you," Eclipse made eye contact with the one who entered and called herself Leon, "Your name is Leon? Correct? Why does that cat follow you around? I always assumed the non-sentient beings were un-intelligent." Eclipse enjoyed making small talk, it distracted people from the tragedy at hand. What would be prefered right now would be some ale, to help ease the minds of his comrades. Guilt was not a cheerful affair.

Her attention drawn by the burning library to her side, Rehael hadn't noticed the bystander in the middle of the street. At surprising speeds, both collided, rebounding to the ground in a jumble. Rael struggled to collect herself, swimming in her own thoughts. The daze soon wore off, and she found the energy to bring herself back up to her feet. Rehael felt her face color. "So sorry about that."

"Will!" Tyrin called out, "I can't say I'm surprised to see you here. I can always trust to find you at the scene of a really big crime." He jogged up beside William, planting his feet and looking skywards, at the towering inferno. "So....did you do that?"

Will laughed, Tyrin always knew how to do that, "You think too highly of me Tyrin: Lord Sovereign Protector of the High Realms, Heir to the Throne of the Elysium Plains." Will spoke taking no breath, and speaking the words as if memorized, Will's eyes flashed a knowing twinkle. "Oh do not mind me young lady, I should have been playing a closer amount of attention to my own surroundings. We'll Tyrin it was nice meeting you again, and Rael for the first... But I'm on my way into the library, so if you'll excuse me."

Leontynne pulled Lionel close to her and nuzzled him, deeply offended.

"A cat is most certainly sentient, if you please, sir," she said, trying very hard to refrain from sticking her nose up in the air. "And he follows me because I am his mistress and his keeper. Have you a problem with this companion of mine? Has he done you any harm?"
