Chapter 1: The Dragons Primeval
In various corners of the continent of Khorvaire, six skilled adventurers - Raithe with her partner, Ashen, Will, Eclipse, Tael'braithe and Shadow - find letters that have mysteriously appeared among their possessions. The writing on the letters is ornate, and the letter itself seems to exude raw power. The letter is not sealed. On it, should the adventurers choose to read it, is written: "Should you seek power, power you deserve, direct yourselves towards the abandoned ruins of Metrol, in the Mournland. Act with haste, time does not wait for you." The letter is not signed, and does not seem to have been delivered by anyone.

((On a side note, italics means I'm thinking bold italics means I'm communicating with telepathy))
This was easy Shadow put the bag of rubies into a pouch at his side as he teleported out of a small jewelers shop in the northern section of Vathirond. After dropping the rubies into his pouch he noticed something. There was something else in his pouch. He drew it out, it was a letter, unsealed, and he could feel its power. What is this he thought to himself has he opened it and read it.
"Should you seek power, power you deserve, direct yourselves towards the abandoned ruins of Metrol, in the Mournland. Act with haste, time does not wait for you."
Intriguing. I might as well check this out, there's an abandoned road that leads right to the ruins, it shouldn't take long and it'll be more entertaining then stealing rubies from an un-guarded shop. Shadow grabbed a small bag of holding along with his quiver and bow, then strapped his dirks on before he visualized the outside of the gates leading to the abandoned road to Metrol, he then teleported to it instantly. He then started on his way to Metrol, staying in the shadows and making sure none of the guards on watch saw him as he left.

((I will use the same italic format thing as Taver))
Tael's grip tightened around the elf's neck when he cried out. Stupid elf! No one here will help you! he thought to himself. Tael opened the wooden door to a small inn (and bar) in rural Valenar in which he had taken up residence. The only one in the room apart from him and his captive was the owner behind the bar counter, a stocky human with a nervous look on his face, and trembling knees.
Weak minded human... so easily intimidated... I can get anything I want in these parts. Tael walked across the room to a staircase next to the bar counter, the only sounds being the rhythmic beat of Tael's boots, the sound of his chainmail grinding, and the soft whimpering of the elf. He gave the human a menacing glare as he passed. ***When he was sure that the fiend was upstairs, Ogden breathed a sigh of relief, and sat down on the stool behind the counter. If he wasn't afraid for his life and those of his wife and daughter, he would have reported the abhoration months ago, the day he marched into this little inn.*** ***Tharivol felt a light autumn breeze rush past his face when Tael opened the door to his room upstairs. He saw in a mirror along one wall, a long black gash down the right side of his face, tainting his soft elven features. The faint evening sun lit the room enough for him to make out a small bed in the corner, and a stand next to it, with stacks of gold coins on it.*** Tael marched his elven captive across the room to another closed door. His hand was inches away from the door knob when he hesitated. He heard shuffling on the other side. He grinned, and opened the door. Tael felt the elf jump as he let out a small squeak. On the other side of the door was a small closet, but it was what was on the floor that startled the elf. There, bound and gagged, and barely concious, were five other elves, all wearing noble outfits similar to Tharivol's. Tharivol barely had time to notice that most of the other elves had wounds, before he was struck on the head, pushed inside, and locked in.
Ahhh... at last... I have their six top nobles... I didn't even need to use force on two of them. A little bribery and a few lies is often enough to convice a greedy politician. Finally... now that fear and panic is setting in across the elven nation the next stage of my plan can commence...
Just then, something caught Tael's eye. On his night stand he noticed an envelope on top of the gold... he was almost sure that it was not there a moment prior... On the envelope he read:"Should you seek power, power you deserve, direct yourselves towards the abandoned ruins of Metrol, in the Mournland. Act with haste, time does not wait for you." He recognized the writing on the envelope... and his suspicions coincided with the rumors he had heard of his old friend's whereabouts. Tael rushed downstairs, muttered a few words of magic and bolted out the door, leaving Ogden teetering on the brink of passing out. He spread his enormous bat-like wings at soared upwards, calculating that he could make it to the ruins before morning if he made haste.

Shadow made good progress towards reaching Metrol and was nearly two thirds of the way there by the time the sun started to appear on the horizon. As he felt his psionicly enhanced speed start to give he slowly stopped and took a small break, simply sitting on the ground.
He watched as the sun started to rise and noticed a small speck flying towards the ruins of Metrol. He watched it as it settled among the ruins then got up and started walking towards Metrol, deciding it would be best to keep the rest of his psionic reservoir in case something hostile was among the ruins.

"Should you seek power, power you deserve, direct yourselves towards the abandoned ruins of Metrol, in the Mournland. Act with haste, time does not wait for you."
Raithe read out loud in her soft, musical voice. She had found the letter in one of their traveling packs, and since her partner couldn't exactly open it, she volunteered. Ashen stood behind her, his large head hovering behind her shoulder. She could feel his hot breath on her neck as she read it.
When she finished, Raithe turned to face the young dragon, who straightened up and looked down at her from his height of over 8 feet, compared to her almost 6. His massive wings were tucked close to his body, and his posture was perfect, reflecting his vain nature. Raithe tucked some of her platinum bangs behind her slightly pointed ear, and looked at her partner, holding up the letter.
"Well, I don't know 'bout you, but I don't think we need some anonymous letter to get power." She said, looking up at Ashen. Her layers of black leather caught the high sun, making her easily visible in mid-day.
Ashen growled deeply in his throat as he thought the situation over. "I think it would be fun to go. It'll give us something to do, anyways." He cocked his massive head to one side, the frill along his spine following it.
Raithe grinned, putting the letter in a pouch and taking out a map. "Sounds good to me. The work here is seriously lacking, anyways. So let's see...." She set the map out on the ground, sitting next to it, cross-legged. "We're here..." She said pointing at a spot on the far west end of Breland. "Hmm, not too far. How long do you think it'll take?" She asked looking back up at Ashen.
Ashen simply flexed his large wings, kicking up clouds of dust. "Not long." He said in his rough draconic voice. He bowed down on his front legs and waited. Raithe put the map away and walked over to Ashen's side. He watched her as she skillfully and easily got up onto his back. They had placed a thick pad on his back, between his shoulder blades so that she could sit over the frill along his back. She quickly got settled, and Ashen went into a quick run, beating his wings, then launching into the air.
They headed east to Mournland, flying high above the clouds. They would reach their destination by the end of the day.

The sun was directly over Shadows head as he arrived at the outskirts of the ruins of Metrol. He walked through them, following an old road, looking around him at the ruins. Well I'm here, what now? He thought to himself as he wandered through the ruins.
He stopped at the entrance of what looked to be a ruined blacksmiths shop and entered it looking around. Not finding anything, living or dead, he sat down and opened his bag, taking out a small block of cheese and loaf of bread. He sat down and ate, all the while watching the entrance to the shop and wondering what to do next.

The adventurers should travel without any trouble from bandits. Upon arriving at Metrol, they see all but one building have fallen, lying shattered on the ground. The one building still standing is at least a hundred feet high, and appears to be fairly new. There is a smaller building "attached" to the front of this tower, roughly 15 feet by 15 feet in size. Both buildings are made of thick metal, and there is only one apparent doorway.
EDIT: ((Okay, the building Taver went in is also standing... XD))

Sensing someone coming into the ruined tower behind him, Tael quickly hid in the shadows and stood in wait. A figure, a young human in appearance walked through the entrance.
Stepping out from behind a collapsed portion of a wall he drew his halberd. "Speak you name and purpose before I cut you down. This seems like no place for random encounters."

There are two doorways inside the small room, one door in the center of each wall adjacent to the main door. Both doors are large, and made of metal. From the door on the right, noises can faintly be heard. The door on the left has a large lock on it.

Upon hearing the words spoken from behind him Shadow quickly turned drawing both dirks and going into a fighting pose. He squinted slightly then realized who he was looking at. Tael? What are you doing here. Last I saw you, we were at the Pearls Gate and I was fourteen. He relaxed his pose but still kept the dirks out. Remember me?

A look of surprise crossed Tael's face. Lowering his weapon he said "Shadow! I thought I recognized that aura of power... It's been so long! What have you be-- ... Did you hear that? " He raised his halberd and ducked back behind the broken wall. "Conceal yourself."

Shadow ducked into the nearby shadows. He watched the door and motioned to Tael before communicating his next thoughts. I'll open the door telekineticely, get ready. He focused on the door and opened it, then snuck over to the wall next to it, motioning to Tael that he was going in before he snukc in, sticking to the walls.
