He nodded. "Ohtoo bad the tavern is probably closed already I'll go first thing in the morning and see about getting to see her. Then we can go into the woods after that cave if you want!" He ws standing up moving in jerky unsure motions, he was so excited he wasn't sure what to do with himself. "If you still wanted to go after that cave and treasure and everything" Despite how late it was and how tired he'd been he was very animated now.

Nika paused her writing, "haha, yeah, sure. We can still do that. I'd like to meet your mother too if you don't mind. " She added, ruffling her quill.

"Of course! I planned on inviting you anyways!" He smiled and stood there awkwardly still not sure whether he wanted to find clothes that he could wear to see his mom or try to go to bed or what...

She could only smile and wonder what her father was doing without her. Was he really upset that I left? Did he even care? Does he understand? Is he after me? She thought about it quietly and eventually laid back on the bed with her hands behind her head. The soft feathery down pillows felt immensly good.

"I'll be quiet so you can rest, it is late after all." He flopped on the couch looking at the note with a huge goofy smile across his face. I haven't seen her in SO long! Had to stay with my dad and work for that stupid Linus. WOW I'm so excited!!! I wonder if she still looks like I remember her! Long red hair, grey eyes, freckles, like me he laughed quietly to himself remembering when he was little and his mom used to let him play connect the dots on her freckles with face paint then she'd do that to him.

"It's alright." She yawned. And before she could think about her own mother she drifted off to sleep. She snored heavily for a while then stopped and was soundless except for steady breathing.

He laid there for awhile his thoughts going berserk in his head. Finally he put the note aside and forced himself to sleep. After a bit he nodded off.

She woke up sometime in the early hours of the morning. Nika rubbed her eyes and looked out the window to see a pale, ghostly face staring back. She began to scream but quickly muffled her voice, stuffing a pillow in her mouth as to not wake up Eric.
What in the hell? She thought, looking more closely now. Then she recognized who it was. She saw that Eric didn't seem to notice her half-scream so she got dressed and opened the window a crack. The girl had gone and she popped out through the window into the courtyard, leaving it ajar.

He didn't fully awake hearing her scream, only turned over in his sleep with a bit of a grumble of sorts. He continued to sleep.

"How long were you standing here?" Nika asked Celeste quickly and quietly.
"I...I...all night." She replied, resigned.
"What! You stood outside my window all night? Whyever for? You could have gotten sick or something!" Nika scolded.
"I-I'm sorry. After you walked me home, my mom wasn't there and I was so depressed...I followed you back."
"Oh...I see." Nika sighed. "Well now that we're together, do you want to have breakfast in town?"
"Sure!" Celeste said happily. Nika sighed and went back to the window and climbed in. She scribbled a note for Eric that simply said she was going out to eat with Celeste quite early and that she'd be back soon.
She climbed back outside the window and walked with Celeste toward the market.

Eric woke up mid-morning and saw Nika was gone. He jumped off the couch and found her note. He quickly wrote one that he was going to find out about his mom and then hurridly cleaned up and headed out to The Croaking Frog.

Nika went to a small tavern in the town where they sold breakfast. She bought one for herself and one for Celeste.
"Honestly, though, you didn't have to wait outside my window all night. You gave me such a fright this morning..." She said over a cup of tea.
"I-I'm truly sorry, Jesse. I was so lonely. If I hadn't met you, I might have...I might have...done something awful." She looked down with a sigh. Nika sighed too and said, "Don't worry."
The waitress came back.
"Enjoy your breakfasts." She said, plopping down a plate with sasuages, sunny-side-up eggs and buckwheat pancakes. She'd ordered some meade and fruit juice too.

Eric burst into The Croaking Frog and started asking around for Choco. Eventually he was directed to the correct man and sat down "Good mornng sir, my name is.."
Choco cut him off with a friendly smile "Calm down m'boy, I know who ya are! Yer Eric, Janella's boy, i'd know you anywhere, you have her spunk quirky looks." He grabbed Eric's outsretched hand and shook it. "She told me ya'd be stopping by to find out her schedule an here ya are." He hnded Eric a sheet with a bunch of dates and times and various other blurbs of info on it. Eric read it over "WOW she's doing great!"
"She is indeed! Come, sit and have a drink and we'll see about getting you an audience with her."
Eric plopped down and ordered a water "Thanks s much!"

She finished eating breakfast with Celeste and was finishing her last sip of mead. "Is that stuff any good?" Celeste asked.
"Sure is." Nika replied, offering her a sip. She loved it and ordered one for herself. "Great stuff..." She said.
"Yes..." Nika stared out the window and wondered what Eric was up to.
"So...you live with that boy!" Celeste said.
"Haha err yeah. Well we ARE traveling companions you know."
"It seems strange though..." Celeste added.
"I guess...I don't think of myself as an average girl, though." Nika stared out the circular window again.

He sat there figuring out times with Choco when there was a tap on his shoulders. He turned around and jumped up embracing the woman "MA!"
She laughed giving him a hug as well.
"How are ya Eric?" She pulled back looking him over, tears in her eyes.
"I'm good! You look great!" He was smiling from ear to ear and gave her another hug.
She hugged him tight "It's been too long, I'm sorry I didnt come through sooner, but my schedule has been quite filled up. I'm supposed to be at the castle in a few weeks for those weddings. I hear four princesses are marrying the four princes from Mael."
"Yeah, supposedly. I was just working out when we could have dinner or something!" He wanted to keep that subject on the low-down, lest something about Nika slip. "And I will be bringing my ttrveling companion Jesse! She's awesome, you'll like her!"
"Oh is that so?" She sat down in his chair, Eric followed suit pulling up another chair.
"Yeah! It's so good to see you though!!!"
She smiled, "So youre 21 now eh?" She grabbed his hands looking at them "And no ring? What's takin ya so long?"
He laughed "Haven't found HER yet/"
They both laughed.
