"Not even close!" He hooted, sticking out his tongue as lightning crackled underfoot. Overhead, the grass had begun to retrieve it's saturated green pigment as the ground rushed up, rain drops seemingly frozen in midair as his body whistled downwards faster and faster. Guaging the rising ground, Matthew gave his wings a twenty second window before he'd have to brake hard.
Down below, the outpost was deathly quiet, merely another stone decoration rising up from the paved streets of ruin; No different than the statues that pervaded around the long dry fountain. Although there was no glitter of hallowed ground, the stench of decay was long gone with the rain, leaving nothing but ghosts to fill the quiet compound.

Not even thirty seconds after he had settled himself on the ground she landed, her black wings stretched out to their fullest, halting her landing for a second before she landing in a crouch on the ground, wings draped over her body.Standing up she shook her head, light blue hair flying around her head and throwing drops of rain at Matthew. Her silver eyes shined with amusement,
"Oops, sorry didn't mean too."

Coming out of a similar head shake, Matthew merely shrugged, breaking into a light canter as he shouldered open the large fort's gate. Although warm and dry, the interior was completely devoid of life. Furniture lay smashed and ruined, although a layer of dust covered the evidence of anything recent. Unfastening his clinging trenchcoat, the youth pitched the item onto the arm of an intact chair rest before the lodge's fireplace, peeling off his sleeveless shirt soon after.
Through the shape of his scaled plateskirt, moisture merely slid away from his lower body, leaving his pants mostly dry as he knelt to strike out a fire with a proclaimed flintbox that rested in the mantle. Enough refuse from broken chairs and other furnishings packing the fireplace with an immolative base. As sparks grew to cinders, and then a few glowing tongues of smokeless flame, Matt rose back to his feet, averting his eyes as he held up the haversack blanket. "Let's get your stuff dry," He sighed, already hanging his things across a pole in front of the fire to dry.

She followed him into the relatively dry building although she it felt as if the interior has a slight musky smell. Watching lazily as he peeled off the top half of clothing and started to make a fire she blinked her eyes as he spoke.
"My clothes?"as she repeated his words she placed her arms around her waist,
"I'll be okay, really,"she said with a smile,
"I won't get sick and die."She mumbled nervously, although a smile still rested on her lips.

"Oh, like I haven't heard that one before," Matt laughed, flexing out his hands before the fire to disperse the clinging moisture through small threads of coiling steam. "I promise I won't peek too much," He smiled, laying the blanket within Hitomi's reach as he broke off to check the larders. For the most part, food at the battlements was preserved, allowing warriors to stay fed should a battle drag out for any length of time.
Just as he suspected, the shelves were full of jerked pork, raisins, nuts, some daring jars of steak nuggets, and some condensed juice powders. Adding water to the latter resulted in a brew as fresh in flavour as it had been squeezed all of those years ago.

"That makes me feel a whole lot better,"she retorted sarcastically but as he turned his back she started to take off her clothing, the cotton like quality sliding down her shoulders before she peeled the rest of it off which at first clung to her body but them reluctantly came off with a small 'pop' leaving an area of moisture there the shape of the cloth. Blushing slightly as the warm air caressed her slender body she hurriedly grabbed the soft blanket and wrapped it around herself.

Juggling a few flasks of cold cider with a bag of jerked porked, Matthew stepped back out into the lodging room, setting the items down on the chair, the only surviving piece of furniture within the construct. "Just give it a squeeze and then hang it on the pole," He sniffed, flexing his sore shoulders. Although exhilerating, prolonged or intense flight often left his chest sore from the constant flexing of his pectorals. 'Ah, the tortures of the wing'd ones...' He hissed sweetly, passing along one of the flasks of peach cider.

She squeezed the soaking garment and watched as a puddle quickly formed on the floor below her clothes. Wringing them out more until they were damp she hung it on pole and made her way to the fire. Glacing around at her clothes one last time she noticed that they puddle on the ground had already started to evaporate, a small breath of steam rising from the liquid. Raising her eyebrows at the sight she sat down next to Matthew and almost melted as the fire dried her, warming her cool figure quickly. Taking a swig of the peach cider, a lopsided smile graced her face as the drink burned through her,
"This is very good,"she said drunkenly before taking another swig. The drink didn't make her drunk, it was the feeling of the cool liquid washing through her chest and the exact opposite feeling of the warm fire heating her up.

"It's probably as old as this place," Matt smiled, giving his arms a small toss to indicate the building. Although there had been signs of rampant destruction throughout the interior, there were no obvious blood stains, or other signs of a struggle. 'Although, that was never Black's style,' He smiled taking a slow drink from the sweet juice, 'He probably just trashed this place for the sake of chaos...'
Black, never being the most intelligible of Demons, often carved a path of destruction through the regions he passed. As an Ixious, the goat man tended to think more with his muscles, making him all the more dangerous. Before Matthew's ascension to Belial's right hand, the entity had sweapt aside complete armies of Innocents with his venerable Death Squadron before rushing headfirst into the battles.
"I wish there could be just one mission where it didn't rain or snow though," He sighed, stretching out on his back, folded wings compacting comfortably like a feather matress.

She smiled at his last sentence and turned to face him slightly, her damp hair sliding along the bare patch of her back which wasn't covered by the warm blanket, leaving a small wet spot.
"Oh come on, I love the rain,"she said with a wistful look,
"It's so fun to fly in."She said with a giggle before stretching her bare legs closer to the fire, the cloth ruffles up to mid-thigh and she exhaled in contentment as the fire pleasant warmed her.
"The rain's not that bad is it?"She murmured, the warmth spreading through her making her feel lazy. She loved the rain, it was as if it washed away all the grime and sin from the world, and gave everything a new look, a new chance. It was completely amazing to her and it gave her an infinite amount of freedom as everything seemed to be washed away.

"There've been worse things," He smiled, cocking his eyebrow with a grin in Hitomi's general direction. Checking the clothing with his palm, Matthew pulled the bar back slightly, keeping the fire's maw to strict drying, and not leaping out to slash black marks. Noticing the woman's smooth legs with his second eye, something seemed to click within the young Lord's mind before shook it off.
'Maybe I've been on too many missions this last month,' He smiled, 'Everywhere I look, everyone seems to be getting familiar. Sliding both hands through his hair, Matt attempted to regain some sense of order; Although incredibly ductile, every time he attempted to style his own hair, it ended up looking more wild and attractive than before. Rising up through the ranks of the apprentice, Bishops had scoffed at what appeared before their eyes to be self-interested arrogance.

She looked at him for awhile trying to tame his naturally wild hair and she grinned.
"Your never going to get it done like that Goldilocks,"she teased as she leaned forward on her knees, one hand holding up the blanket secure around her chest.
"Here let me try,"she stated, extended her hand she removed his arm before trying her best to keep the silver locks down but it was like they had a mind of their own. Biting her tongue in frustration she again tried to flatten his hair, shuffling on her knees closer and closer to the white winged angel until she pressed up against him her chest near his chin. She payed no attention to the otherwise awkward situation as she tried to keep his hair under control,
"Damnit,"she cursed under her breath as another rebellious strand broke loose from her hand.

"Hey, watch what you'r—Ow!" Matt sniffed, halfways between a laugh and a yelp as his calves collided with an overturned longchair. Snapping out his wings for balance as Hitomi molested his head, the white Lord caught the makeshift towel-blanket at the top of her chest as it threatened to jump away from the woman's body. Ignoring the extra padding his hands pressed against, Matthew gave a patient smile as his snowy bangs began to behave.
Giving the blanket a light tug upwards, the victimized angel laughed softly as he recurtailed the halfknot around the black-winged creature's cleavage. "Spaz," He teased, sticking out his tongue as his calves buckled backward farther yet against Hitomi's pressing administrations.

"Baby,"she retorted right back as his hair started becoming somewhat presentable as her hands worked through it,
"Can't even handle someone working with your hair,"she snorted as she backed away on her knees a couple of steps studying her work then nodding,
"Yup I think I'm done!"she smiled then glanced at him,
"Jeez what a baby."

Cocking his eyebrow, Matthew gave the folds of the towel he pinched between thumb and forefinger a tug upwards, giving the entire cloak a slight shiver that threatened to release the tucked edge holding the towel together against the slim angeless. "My body is a temple," He smiled, sticking out the tip of his tongue as he fixed the towel for the second time, "And no one likes a bunch of grubby hands molesting their temples." With a soft laugh, the Lord kissed Hitomi's hands before finding his previous seat.
Testing the clothing with his palm, Matt pursed his lips slightly before returning to playing with a bit of jerky. Although the meat remained edible, the spices and preserved flavours had been reduced to something resemblant of smoked wax.
