Janella nodded. "Well just keep an eye on him til you part ways, he can be a handful." She stood up and bwed to Nika "I must be off though, I have a performance that I must make ready for. Perhaps I will see you at dinner tonight?"

"Ah perhaps. Well best of luck to you, see you." Nika bowed back and waved as she left the tavern. She hurried back to the inn. The sky was gray and dreary and it seemed as if it would rain. She felt tiny droplets and ran faster to get back before the downpour.

Eric had laid on the couch since he'd gotten back and dozed off and on, he laid on his side for some of the time and stared at the crumpled paper by the trash with a disappointed look.

Nika rapped on the door a few times to let him know she was coming in incase he was naked. She opened the door a crack and headed on inside, waving to Eric, not sure if he noticed. She sat at the desk and began to write.

He peered through one eye lazily as she came through. "Are we going out after that treasure of yours oday?" He asked without any emotion behind it. He stayed where he was on the couch not even bothering to move or welcome her.

"Highly unlikely." Was all Nika could say. Wonder why he acts the way he does? His mother said he was a 'handful.' I guess he could be worse, though...

"It's raining...there's a downpour outside." She pointed toward the window. The courtyard was slowly being drowned in torrents of water.

"Oh" He hadn't noticed the rain. "Did you have a nice conversation with my ma?" He leaned back into the couch with a sigh.

"Yeah...we didn't really talk about much or anything...why'd you leave? She's a fun person to talk to, I'm sure we all could have talked, together."

He shrugged. "It's my ma... I didn't feel like sharing personal things with the world, just her. It's no big deal really." He played with the seam on the edge of the couch. "She seemed more interested in you anyways." He added quietly.

"Why are you so mopey...you haven't seen her in such a long time and you finally get the chance to see her and you run away? Is it my fault? I was only being friendly to her, I'm sure she's not more interested in me than you, if you are feeling that way...just a thought." Nika said, as she dipped her quill into her bottle of ink and began to write again.

"Maybe..." He shrugged. "I'm going out for a bit, maybe wander through the markets, wanna come?" He asked getting up. He didn't want to stay indoors and be frustrated.

"Okay sure...but once the rain subsides, I don't feel like getting wet." She said, walking over to the fire in the fireplace to warm her fingertips.
