Kiasi fell into step beside him, her smaller body moving in a rather elegant, swaying manner as she placed paw in front of paw. She was a prissy thing, and she held herself with an air of utmost confidence. Her fur was sleek, every little piece of fur in an organized and tidy manner. The only dirt that touched her at all was the bit of dust lingering on the bottom of her paws from the ground beneath her. She was fond of taking baths, and was known to do so when bored, and known to do so when she got even the smallest speck of dust on her precious golden-brown fur.
Seeking to start a bit of idle conversation, she picked a random subject and began talking, "so, have you ever been anywhere except the pridelan-" but her words were cut off immediately as she saw the large, looming brown expanse of muck in front of them; and then the zebra carcass lying on the other side.
"I'm not going through that," she said immediately, her voice taking on a rather defensive tone as she eyed the murk like it was some boiling pit of grime. She shook her head, then, and stopped dead in her tracks, a good ways away from the disgusting murk of the shallow mudpool. Good luck trying to convince her otherwise. As far as she was concerned, she would rather starve than set one little paw of hers into that disgusting mess.
Kiasi and dirt did not get along in the slightest.

He could not help but burst into laughter, which was a deep chuckling sound, “If you’re hungry you’ll go, please go?” he smiled slyly as he looked at her, “We’ll take a bath together?” He remembered talking to Tetemeko about being clean and how he himself liked to stay clean. Tete liked the dirt and the mud like his mother.
“Besides, it will take a long time to go all the way around, my stomach sure is growling,” almost on cue it gurgled. (Sorry so short.)

Kiasi grimaced at his laughter and slowly let her eyes slide back towards the mudhole. "But that's.. disgusting," she said breathily, slowly inching towards it to get a better look. As she stopped at the edge, she gave a little shudder, eyes widened slightly at the thought of getting her precious, beautiful fur all dirty. Who in their right mind wanted to get in that kind of stuff? Ugh.
"I.." She frowned, glancing at the expanse of the mudhole. She wanted to keep Kubwa as a friend, she knew that, but she wasn't sure walking through mud was worth anything. Glancing back at him, she sighed - she needed friends. With a timid little gesture, she reached out and stuck one paw into the mud. As it sank a good way, she gave a horrible little shudder, her eyes widening and rolling slightly in her horror. You'd think it was trying to eat her. As her paw hit the bottom, leaving most of her leg sunken beneath the murky surface, she took a deep breath and put another paw in.
Slowly, she finally made her way with all four legs deep in the gunk she detested. Making her way through the shallower parts of the mud, she slowly began to cross, her face scrunched up in utter disgust the entire way. She really didn't know how hungry she was going to be after all of this.
((Lol, it's fine love. Poor Kiasi, she really does hate mud and dirt. xD))

Kubwa could not help but grin widely as she stepped into the first stretch of mud and he started into it himself, his feet making a squelching noise as he stepped down. The mud wasn't his favorite either, and he'd explained many times to Tete that it wasn't nice to get others dirty.
"After we eat, I really should return to Tete, I have a feeling that he's not too fond of my mother, I don't see why..but she has been a little..well..mad."
He allowed her to lead a bit as he talked, sort of loafing around behind Kiasi. He wanted again to inquire about her siblings, it seemed so strange that a girl with so many brothers would hate the mud so much.

Kiasi groaned as she took step after step, her feet sticking and the mud itself clinging in such a manner that it made it hard for her to pull her paws out. The repetitive sucking, squelching noises made her grimace in distaste even more - if that was fathomable at this point. Once she reached the edge of the whole, she shook her paws in a manner that would suggest a cat just climbing out of a watering whole that it had been forcefully tossed into. As the mud flung off in different directions, she wrinkled her nose. Mud was one of the filthiest things imaginable, in her opinion. Finally, with as much as she could get off without a proper bath, she side stepped and headed for the looming zebra carcass she could see a little bit away.
"I imagine she isn't too happy - you being mateless with a cub and all," she said calmly, though her voice was a little harsher for the simple fact that she was uncomfortable with the mud already beginning to try in rivulets on her golden-brown fur. "But I suppose all good things must come to an end, right? Tete probably needs your attention after you being gone so long." Well, she seemed a little more reasonable on the talk of cubs once she was dirty - probably because she couldn't put her full mind into hating them when she was so miserable with dirt.
With a little purr, she settled herself next to the zebra carcass, the relatively fresh meat filling her senses and sending her stomach to a fierce rumbling. Purposely avoiding look at her mud-drenched paws, she leaned forward to rip away a chunk of meat carefully. Oh, but good food settled all qualms.

He wanted to make a crude comment about the noises the mud was making, but in the presence of a lady that didn't seem like such a good idea, he was sure that Tete or possibly Wahabu might find the entire experience as funny as he did, but her disgust was apparent. As he started to step from the mud he winced as if knocked in the head, her tone of voice seemed almost venomous.
"Well, yes, I'm sure that's why she's mad," he agreed his voice quieter than before. "I'm sure he'll be happy to be saved from mom. He sneaks off quite a bit, so I suppose he could have rescued himself, lately he's been hanging around girls and they can certainly be trouble, can't they?" he added trying to lighten the mood, he was regretting getting her dirty.
He contently settled on her right and picked at the zebra carcass, with a mouth full of meat he nodded his brown eyes fixed on her.

Kiasi simply dismissed the quiet tone of his voice, or perhaps didn't hear the difference to begin with. As grumpy over the dirt as she was at this point, her care for offending someone else with how she reacted was beyond her. Later, perhaps, if he showed some sign of feeling wounded at her tone, then she would apologize - but for now, she was blinded by her own discomfort. It was a risk that he had taken when he forced her to go through mud just to get to food.
"Oh, interested in girls already?" she said with a smirk on her face. Now, this was a subject that could make her be a fraction more conversational, though that tone would linger in the depths of her voice until she got the dreaded mud removed from her paws. "Well, that could be an entirely new reason for your mother to start getting angry. If he looks half as handsome as you, she'll be beating them off of him soon." She said with a laugh, her eyes sparkling slightly at the slightly flirtatious comment. However, she showed no signs that she had even said it otherwise, passing it off as a simple fact - or perhaps that was only meant to make him wonder.
She tore away another small chunk of meat, downing it happily, her blue eyes settled below her on the zebra carcass - though they did glimpse at him every few moments or so.

Kubwa took another bite and about spit it out at her last comment, he wasn't used to being complimented. He swallowed hard and turned apple red and flashed an awkward smile in her direction.
"I..I just think they're friends, but he has many girls that are friends, I'll have to tell him to stay away from them," he chuckled and nodded slightly.
She's lovely, funny, beautiful! He thought as he took a good look at her, even covered with mud she's just lovely! He thought suddenly that he must look foolish having his underhalf covered in mud and thought that maybe taking a long relaxing bath might be the next step, or he could go home and show Tete that daddy gets dirty too sometime.

As Kiasi slowly ate her fill of the zebra sprawled out between the two of them, her eyes drifted to the horizon and the sun that was slowly approaching midday. It had been a long time since she left the den, and no doubt her father or mother were probably starting to wonder where she had gone. Being the baby meant that she still let them act like she couldn't do anything on her own, and still putting up with all the fussing over her. She suspected she'd do it right up until she found a mate for herself and left the den for them. Of course, she dreaded that day - she suspected they would make a big fit about her growing up. Still, as it were, she needed to head back home and check in with them before they worried themselves to death.
"Well, my handsome prince," she said with a little amusement lingering in her voice, obviously teasing him for the simple fact that he had turned red at her earlier comment, "I believe I need to be getting home to my family. Mom is probably worrying, like always, and I'm sure little Tete could do with savior from your own mother - especially if she's as uppity about the entire situation as she say she is." She smirked, glancing in the direction of the lake. As soon as he stood to leave, she was going to head in that direction, have a bath, and then go home.

"What, N-no, you can't leave," he looked up slightly pleading, this was one of the first real conversations he had, had in awhile, "If you must, but promise I will be able to see you again? Maybe next time I can get you to wrestle an aligator?" he joked happily. He was sad at the thought of her leaving, but she was right, saving Tete was need.
"She's as uppidy as I've said," he nodded and stood up and for a moment was going to ask to accompany her home to see that she got there safe, but who washe to ask if someone needed escorting? Besides, the great pride would not like any of it's own be harmed.

She smiled at the way he asked her to stay, a gentle glimmer flashing in her eyes. It was good to feel wanted by someone outside of her family - not that she'd ever complain about how much they doted on her, of course. Likewise, for that someone to be a strikingly handsome male lion was even more of a plus. However, she would not let him see just how much she gloried in the fact, for that would have been something a silly little girl would do. Instead, she simply kept to her typical manner, and let her smile fade into a smirk that could have suggested anything.
"Of course you can see me again, though I'm not sure I'd wrestle an alligator for you. I've already walked through mud, isn't that enough to ask of someone so spoiled?" she chuckled, though, and simply shook her head at his words. At least he had a sense of humor - she had to give him that.
"Well, then you better be on your way, hadn't you? Every second you let him be there by himself means she's got free rain to be uppity at him," she said with a bit of an amused tone lingering in the depths of her voice. She did turn, then, however, looking over her shoulder at him. "I'll see you soon, though, Kubwa. I'm sure I'll need someone to entertain me before you know it." And with that, she gave a little laugh, walking off in the direction of her home.
Today had been fairly enjoyable.

He had questioned ever being able to speak openly to someone again, he had to be so mysterious about Tetemeko's origins that he could not just speak freely and joke. The pale pride lander had all but assumed he was socially retarded before Kiasi came a long and he felt determined to search out his old friend, Wahabu, he needed to clear the air there and possibly start a better relationship with him.
Again he bobed his head in Aadil's fashion as she spoke and for a moment he thought he saw something, did he want to stay too?
"You'll walk through much more than mud next time," he retorted and smiled as she began to walk off. This was more than a good day in Kubwa's mind this one of the best days in a long time and for the first time he felt a little piece of Boma's memory slip away from the hateful place in his heart.
He started walking off in the other direction, sludging through the mud as he went, he was going to show Tete that daddy could be dirty too. His motions were like the ones he used to impress Tetemeko, swaying and bobbing and with a general stagger in his walk, if the pale cub had been there he would be rolling on the ground laughing.
Off to save my baby from my mommy...
