I'm pretty bad at beginning, bare with me? The image is the "family" a little younger than they are, but I just wanted you to see who was involved in Kub's life. XD) A pale form dotted in and out of the mist rising off of a watering hole, the early morning was just the right time to escape while everyone was sleeping. He was walking around one of the largest lakes in the Pride Lands and was happy to see that many creatures were not up at the time. The sun had not completely peeked out for the day and was just as drowsy as any lion would feel. Luckily Kubwa was used to wandering in the dark and was quite familiar with his surroundings. A walk was an easy way to think and an even easier way to escape his mother. She was the sweetest creature he knew, but that was before he betrayed her trust , now she had changed her attitude towards him.
Thoughts of Boma’burudi swam in his mind, as they often did, he was young when he first encountered Boma and it was a quick meeting of mind and body, but that did not mean she would slip quickly from his mind. After all, she had given him a constant daily reminder of their mistake. Tetemeko was not a mistake, just his parentage was. Fleeting glints of silver and gold feathers swept over him and he sat down. How was he ever going to escape the thoughts of her? Would she ever finally leave him be? He was uncertain, but the more he wished he would forget the tighter his mind clung to her memory. He knew few things about Boma, but they were enough to tell Tetemeko when he aged. His morning walk had proven to be futile, he was never going to have a normal life and he was going to have to make the one he was given more normal.

(I had seen the parents, just not the son. Tetemeko is adorable.) As the mist of early morning curled and swarmed over the land, a land just beginning to stir from the slumber of night, a small form wound its way around the gentle, placid waters of the Prideland's lake. Small though she was, it was obvious through what could be seen of her inbetween foggy patches that she was nearly grown; she was stuck, sadly, right between adolescent and adult. Not quite in her prime, she still shone with a beauty she knew she possessed. Sleek golden brown fur was well-groomed, the honey marked anchor on her forehead dangled between her deep eyes. As pretty as she was, however, her obvious attitude drew away from that somewhat.
It irritated her, really, that she couldn't sleep well at night these days. She tossed and turned for hours, catching a glimmer of sleep between her paws before it eluded her yet again and danced away like a cackling, tricky pixie. She knew her own worries and irritations lay at the bottom of this. First and foremost was her irritation at being so small; even now she knew that she would be a tiny adult, where her brothers would all be large pridelanders. It had always irritated her that they had been larger simply because they were male, now they would be larger because her own genes had revolted against her. Second among this, and somewhat less important but no less annoying, was that she seemed to be one of the few lionesses not already paired off with a male. She disliked being a late bloomer.
With all of this thought racing through her mind, she didn't see the looming white shape that blended in nearly perfectly with the mist rising and dancing in the early morning. Her eyes stared ahead, but were glazed in thought, and she ran right into the male without a second's warning. Early morning light and deep thought could play cruel tricks on the mind.
"Oh," she muttered, rather irritatedly - more at herself than him - and tried to keep her balance as her tiny form rebounded from his, "sorry." It was a rare treat to have Kiasi admit to being at fault, and though the lion couldn't know, he should have felt lucky; she usually just bit heads off.
(Sorry if it's icky, I'm rusty from 10 months of no RP xD)

The white male was just as oblivious to her presence as she was to his and was violently startled out of his memories. He wobbled clumsily from the collision and fell from his sitting position into a sprawl. He looked up to face his attacker a scowl on his face when just as suddenly his foul mood came it soon dissipated into an awkwardly smiling Kubwa.
“Perfectly alright,” he said softly and scrambled as quickly as he could to get to his feet and stand before her. “I am Kubwa, and there is no need to apologize for a silly mistake, I do fit in pretty well here,” he beamed at her, “May I ask your name?” his brother had always told him to be polite to girls, but then again Kipanya seemed a little shy around the opposite sex.
Any thoughts of Boma at that moment disappeared as he got a better look at her, his brown eyes playing over her to get a better look. She was the most beautiful lioness he had ever seen in his entire life. Kubwa tightened his jaw so that he would not blurt this fact out to her, he had a way with being quite blunt.

Kiasi frowned a moment after he began to speak, utterly dumbfounded by the way he was talking to her. Growing up around all of her brothers and being the only girl meant that they simply treated her like another one of the boys. Often, that meant being rude and simply blunt towards her. Bumping into one of them would have earned a snide remark or some jest about being too short to see properly. Since she had never made a point of being around males other than her brothers, she had simply assumed they all behaved in such a manner. It was a wake up call and a relief, but she wouldn't let that show through. In fact, the way her face looked, she probably seemed more irritated than actually being in deep thought.
At second glance, her features softened again somewhat, and a tiny smile lingered on the corner of her maw. He was an attractive male - a relief from the gold trademark of pridelanders, even if his body still spoke of the lineage. She knew the bloodline was being mingled, she had seen many darker and lighter pridelanders than would be of the norm.
"Kiasi'Nyota," she said, silently thanking her eldest brother for the beautiful name yet again. He had been given the choice of her name, and brought forth 'Little Star' for his only sister.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kubwa, though I didn't think anyone would really be out and about at this lonely hour," she said with an eloquent voice, dipping and dancing to match her graceful mannerisms. It was odd for some lions to grasp; growing up around so many boys meant she should have been a tomboy, not a priss. She just didn't fit the mold.

He bobbed his head in a fashion that if he could see would make him cringe. His mother's trademark motion was a head bob mized with a knowing nod and somehow he had become his mother.
"Kiasi'Nyota, that is a beautiful name," he murmured to her and nodded yet again in his mother's fashion, "I was trying to get away from the family for a few moments. My son is a handful and I would trade him for nothing. But, sometimes I need my adult time." He was used to spilling his soul, no one had ever taught him not too and he did love to speakto everyone about anything.
"I didn't mean to tell you so much," he add awkwardly, "I just..well..talk too much?" he started to blush furiously the heat rising to his face and red seeping through his light colored face.

Kiasi smirked, tail flickering slightly as she settled her haunches and relaxed herself into a sitting position. He was amusing, to say the least. She never really knew anyone that babbled on and on like he did, and though she would, under most circumstances, find that sort of ceaseless talking an annoyance, his attitude made it bearable. He seemed pleasant enough.
"Ah, you have a son? I'm sure he's adorable, but I've never found the appeal in those little things," she made a prodding motion at the air with her paw, like she might be poking at a cub, "they drive me crazy." She wrinkled her nose slightly, unaware that he could take offense to her dislike of cubs. She was usually unaware that anyone could take offense to anything she normally said. "I can understand you needing to get away from him, you probably handle it better than I would," she laughed softly, knowing it for the truth.
"Oh, I don't mind your rambles," she murmured, blue eyes swiveling up momentarily towards the sky, and then back toward the ground where mist and fog were slowly dissipating. She made a point of saying your rambling, for she would certainly have minded someone else's. "I have a lot of brothers, and at least one of them tends to do that from time to time." She smiled, her tail flickering in fondness of her eldest brother, "it was actually my eldest brother that named me." There, she gave him a little bit of 'gushing'.

He was taken aback, the only other lioness he had ever known to not like cubs was Boma’burudi and he had found that out just a little too late, hadn’t he? How could anyone dislike a child? “Tetemeko is his name, and his mother--“ how to explain, and for the first time in Kubwa’s life he outright lied, “She died it’s him and I now, well we’re staying with my other until he’s a little older. Tete is closer to a youth than a cub, he’s pretty interesting, smarter than I’ll ever be.”
He was trying to explain his family but it didn’t seem at all right, he lied to a stranger to protect—well to protect what? Himself from seeming stupid. He liked the feel of her eyes on her, and knowing that she was listening. She LIKED his rambling even. “I have one brother, I could not imagine anymore siblings.” He really couldn’t he’d known Aadil had always wanted a daughter but weren’t they a little old to procreate? Ahh, how Kubwa’s mind wandered!
“I wish I could tell your brother that he picked a beautiful name for a beautiful lioness.”

She quirked a brow at his sudden need to explain that Tetemeko was not bothersome, but instead of laughing, she merely smiled at him. "If he's a youth, then I'm sure he's not as bad as a cub, and being smart is always a large plus." She flickered her tail, letting it dance idly while she continued speaking, "growing up with all my brothers, I never got much alone time. Later, I learned they were simply annoying because they were so young, because they're very tolerable now. That's why I don't like the little buggers too much." She finished, nodding, hoping that he would take that as a good reason to dislike cubs. There were too many running around these days, and it was driving her crazy - they were everywhere she looked. That was why she was up so early; she needed a little peace and quiet.
She smiled, softly, at the way he explained about his family - she could appreciate that. She loved her family dearly, even if there was a lot of them, and she still stayed with her parents; that was because she was the baby, though. "Well, I can't say that I'd rather only have one brother, but I'm sure all of mine made it more difficult for our parents." She purred softly, comfortable talking to him - enjoying it even. She usually disliked most of the males she talked to. He was really a breath of fresh air; she found herself wanting to talk to him, wanting to spend time here.
"Oh, I'm sure he's around somewhere, but I'll be sure to tell him next time he's around. He spoiled me the most, actually, because he was an only child until all the boys and I came along, and I think he took better to his only sister than his brothers," she said, smiling; that was when she realized that she was rambling now, and she never rambled. It made her laugh softly, and she simply smiled back towards him.

He felt quite content just talking to her, it had been sometime since he talked to anyone that was closer to his age. He missed Wahabu, his best friend since they were small and he thought miserably that he’d done his friend an injustice by not going to him for help. Was he always going to be a terrible friend? Doomed to make those around him unhappy because of his choices? He found himself hoping that he would not scare Kiasi off or do her an injustice like Habu, he’d need to explain everything to his friend soon.
His heart fluttered as she smiled at him and he started again to blush furiously from her gaze, was she thinking he was funny? He felt a bit awkward and nervous, he really never had trouble talking to anyone but her eyes on him made him shift uneasily, “I’d think that having a large family would be interesting? My mother would have been happy, I think, if he would have had a little girl..i think that is why sh was so mad at me for not bringing Tete’s mother home with me.”
“Your brother sounds like a good lion, I’d love to spoil a little sister,” she smirked at the thought, of mom and dad ever having any more cubs…they were too old..right?

Kiasi never really had any friends at all outside of her family. With as many brothers as she had, she was never really alone for company, but talking to Kubwa made her realize that she really had missed out on that experience. Maybe she should have been a little nicer to other lions? Or maybe she should have just made an effort in general to talk to them. There was always time to make friends now-a-days if she wanted to, and Kubwa was as good a place to start as any. Besides, he was pretty handsome to boot.
"I suppose it's pretty interesting, it's at least pretty dramatic - someone's always done something to talk about," she said with a little chuckle, tilting her head slightly to the side. "My mother wanted a daughter, I think, and she got lucky when I was born. I was last out of the entire litter, so I know she was relieved." She smiled, flickering her tail at the blush splattered across his face. His behavior amused her, even made her a little fond of him.
She very nearly asked about Tete's mother, but bit off the question suddenly. It had only just hit her that she shouldn't go digging into other lion's lives. She was learning, slowly.
"Ah, but if you spoil little siblings, then they'll turn out like me," she said with a smirk, a gentle twinkle in her eyes. Oh, she knew she was a pain, and she knew she was a brat when she was little - it didn't really bother her too much.

"Drama can be pretty bad in a small family as well," he knew all to well of that fact, he had brought drama home to their peaceful lives. What would their lives be like if Kubwa had never returned or if he was just like Kipanya? Kubwa was lager than Kip and doubted that he'd ever have the same thoughts as his brother...they were just too different!
"I'm sure that you're not as bad as you say you are, you seem nice to me?"
His eyes drifted around her because he didn't want to seem like he was staring and he realized they'd been in the same place for quite sometime. The mist had started to drift away and he could clearly see across the lake, the feeling of the waking sun on him was warm and he undersood they'd been talking for quite sometime.

"Yes, I suppose it can be just as hard on a small family, but at least there's only two of you; Mom has to deal with six of us, and if we all got up to some sort of drama every day, I'm sure she'd just pull her fur out right then and there," she said with a small laugh, trying to keep the mood as light as possible. She enjoyed talking to him, and she certainly didn't want him to start thinking about how dramatic he had made things for his family; he would get grumpy then, and probably wouldn't be much fun anymore.
"Oh, me? I'm terribly spoiled, but at least I know it. I'm arrogant and proud and tend to let people do things for me instead of doing them myself," she said with a purr, though her grin was amused. She knew how she was, and she loved it. That was probably the worst flaw in her personality. "I suppose there are a few lucky lions that I do talk to without getting irritated," she said to him, giving him a little wink of her deep blue eye.
She followed his gaze out over the lake, taking in the scenery of the pride lands. It was beautiful, no doubt about it - she did, however, notice that they had been talking for quite some time, regardless. "I bet a lot of lions will be out and about soon."

He was quickly at a loss for words, she certainly didn't seem spoiled, and had that been a wink? Did she like to talk and be nice to him? He'd never met a female that wasn't just straight forward with him. Somewhat flustered that his compliments hadn't seemed to go over well he nodded.
"They'll be up and I'm sure this place ill get busy, listen..I umm..are you hungry? There's a fresh kill close to here that I took down yesterday," he puffed up is chest proudly.

It wasn't that she didn't appreciate his comments; that was certainly not the case. However, she took a certain pleasure in being spoiled, and she took even more in flustering and confusing lions. If she could make him second guess himself around her, then she would probably do it. It wasn't being mean, in a sense, just having a little fun. In any case, she certainly enjoyed Kubwa - even the more for being able to keep him wondering.
"That sounds like a darling idea," she said, a smile turning the corners of her maw up once more. As she climbed back to her paws from the sitting position she had taken up, she stretched out her forelimbs to loosen up the settled muscles, then repeated the action with her hind legs. As she relaxed against into an elegant standing position, she locked her ocean-toned eyes upon him, "lead the way, handsome."

Kubwa watched her stretch out of the corner of his eye as he himself stretched a little, this was in his way trying to be slightly manly! He didn't need to stretch because, well he wasn't sure, but surely he didn't need to because he was male! That or the fact that he was used to sitting around all day watching Tete or talking to someone.
Her comment did not go unheard, but he wasn't about to let her force a blush out of him again, he smiled and bobbed his head in Aadil's fashion and started to walk. Kubwa had a rich heritage, one that he would never quite no about; when his father first met his mother he fed her and from then on they were inseperable, or at least that's the way Aadil and Mvumo like to remember it.
"So..." the word hung in the air as he walked.
He had forgotten to mention the fact hat the zebra whad fallen nea a patch of mud and the only way to avoid it was by walking all the way around the lake, he wasn't going to waste time walking around when he could walk through.
