Asher decided that he should just leave things like that. He hadn't eaten in awhile and wanted a snack. Maybe she hadn't eaten in a long while either?
Asher looked at the wolf. Was she capable of hunting? Did the two-legger handicap her in this way? He tilted his head, peering at the female.
"Do... do you know how to hunt? Have you eaten in the days since the two-legger died?"

She couldn't help but laugh a bit. His question was silly. Did all wolves see those who have been with humans as incapable of being a normal wolf? She hoped not. This one was like a pup and so she wasn't as surprised by his question.
"I can hunt." She stood up,"You make me sound like they hurt me or kept me from the forest. You know...They depend on the forest as much as we do. So I have hunted and with two-leggers. And no, I have not starved myself..." She shook her head.

Asher sniffed, "Just curious. Maybe they just fed you. Like one of their pet hounds."
He gnawed once, twice, and then continued, "Whatever. I'm up for a little snack. I'm gonna get me a little squirrel."
Asher raised his head, sniffing, knowing there was bound to be one around. The scent filtered through into his nose, filling his senses as he bound after the smell and caught the rodent by its tail with his claws. He grabbed the thing's head with his maw and snapped its little neck before tearing into the squirrel, blood spread around his jaws.

Pet hounds, huh? She did remember when she was young, hunting was confusing. She had ran with the humans like they were wolves. She had caught small game with the natives weren't interested in. She watched dogs take on big game with the humans which amazed her. She knew wolves had look down upon dogs or half-breeds but to see a dog bravely face a deer that was full ready to kill him just stunned her. That sight in itself had wanted her to run and be as brave as those dogs. Soon enough she ran along side humans, facing the prize.
Alaqua blinked at Asher as he caught his meal. Her ears rose as his little meal reminded of her struggling attempts when she was young. She let him eat his meal before asking a question,"You are lost, right? You don't have a pack? Anyone?" She wondered if he had run away from somewhere.
