It was time to move on.
"Maybe we will see each other again." The female wolf spoke softly to the waves that drew near. Her tail wag a bit as the waves seem to respond to her after she spoke to the waters. The wolf was always happy when she was responded by nature. She learned to listen carefully like her human alpha did when she was alone with her in the forest. It was nice and quiet. At first she didn't understand but she began to notice as silence seemed to flood in she began to hear things she didn't taken notice so often. That little activity keep her ears quite keen.
Alaqua turned away from the waves and saw her own paw prints. She wondered if she was the only one who had taken the time to enjoy the ocean. If she was, she would be a bit sad but then again other matters might seem more important to the mind.
The female knew she should find somewhere safe to stay. She was alone which made things more dangerous for her. She re-entered the forest and let her ears take in the sounds for a moment. She turned her head towards to her right. She looked up when she heard something crack only to see some birds take their seat on a branch. She walked along and sniffed at the ground. She remembered this place was probably had other wolves if there were packs near by. She might be seen as an enemy.
The scent of wolf...
Alaqua looked up. She wondered if her scent would seem too much like human. She has been around the forest. Maybe it rubbed off. She hoped she smelled like nature more than anything else. Her own scent might be different...Very different....
This was causing her to worry a bit so that she stopped in her tracks.

Asher... was lost. Completely and utterly lost. He doesn't know how long he's been lost but it's been a real long time. All he remembered was chewing on random animals, his tail, his paws... just a little mind. He chewed and gnawed at some rocks and some tree limbs... and now he didn't know where he was or how the time has passed. Somehow he ended up here, chewing lightly on his tail not knowing what else to do.
Asher sniffed, there was a scent in the air. He sniffed the air once more and frowned, tail in mouth. It smelled odd like... water... the ocean? There was some other odd smell, it smelled like a wolf and yet... a two legger? A strange two legger near here? Had it been with wolves? Or was it a wolf that had been near a two legger?
Asher bit his tail, letting it go before gnawing once or twice on his right paw. He jerked off and got on all four paws when he smelled the scent. Closer! It was definitely a wolf, albeit it still smelled like a two legger! He turned towards the scent and saw it! The wolf! His eyes were distracted by the wolf, a female! She had a pretty... chewy looking tail...
And Asher pounced! He got the female by surprise and got a chew or two on the tail.

The birds on the branch quickly flew off when a yelp echoed through the once serene forest.
Alaqua panicked after the yelp, pulling herself away quickly. Her body then tensed already thinking of some large animal attacking her, though the reasons never came to her mind since she was in a rush to get away. Her ears flattened against her head as she turned herself around, tucking in her tail between her legs. She then made a quick attempt to make herself look small only to set her pale blue eyes on the creature before her as she whimpered a bit. Her ears and head perked up only to quickly be put back down in a bit of uncertainty. She looked over the wolf, only trying to figure out what just happened. She couldn't move, unsure of what he might do.
"Wh-What was that for!?" She almost yelled at him. She realized how frightened she might have looked and sounded. She was embarrassed, mostly because she should have been aware of his presence before he...bit her tail?
A bit of irritation settled in,"Did you bite my tail?!" Her tension might be what he wanted. She needed to be more calm,"I don't think it is nice to bite someone's tail like that...Especially a female..." Her voice held a calm tone but the annoyance was still there. What did this male think he was? She was no toy!

Asher yelped a bit when the female raised her voice and pulled herself away from him, along with her tail. "Sorry! Sorry. I... I bit your tail..."
Asher hung his head and started to lightly gnaw on his own paw, never drawing any blood. "I... I couldn't resist. I like chewing on things and... and your tail was there! It... it's not like you're not completely innocent! You snuck up on me, smelling all weird like you do!"
Asher continued, feeling a little happy with the odd justification, "And it's not like I drew any of your blood!" He brought his head back up, now with tail in mouth once again.

Her ears perked up at his apologies. She kept tense though. She didn't trust him just yet. She watched him closely, noticing his movement carefully. Though what he did next surprised her. He was chewing on his own paw. This made the female tilt her head in confusion. For a moment, he looked like a puppy who was growing some teeth. His excuse for getting her tail even seemed childish. He wasn't a child. No, he was an adult. Well, he smelled like one.
Her ears turned back when he pointed out her smell. Embarrassed, she tried to compose herself. She sat down but tucked her tail closed to her. Alaqua tried to be calm,"I don't smell weird." Well, that was sure a comeback. She shifted a bit,"I have just been traveling a lot in the past days. You probably just don't recognize the scent." She sighed inwardly. Her justification was just as silly as his.
"It doesn't matter if you didn't draw blood. You just can't jump on other like that. What if I was an alpha male wolf? You would have gotten into a fight and end up hurting yourself for you mistakes." Now she sounded like a nagging mother. She guess she got that from Mapiya. The old human see to be always talking to the younger ones.
She decided to be nice since she didn't want to make enemies fast,"Well, I'll forgive you...Though I don't know if it is healthy to always chewing on things...." She was hoping to get away from the topic of her scent.

Now Asher felt even more lost. Once again, his habit got the best of him. And now this female was getting on about how she doesn't smell weird. Yes she does!
"You do smell weird! Like those weird no-fur two leggers!" Asher found a tree branch that he continued to gnaw on. She was telling him she didn't smell weird? Just because he liked to chew on everything didn't mean that he was handicapped. He could smell quite well thank you.
Asher frowned, yes yes yes. He knew he was supposed to jump on others... "You forgive me? What are you supposed to do for sneaking up on me, with that weird smell!" He gnawed a little harder on the tree branch. "Don't try and get away from that, talking about my habit! You smell like those two leggers."

Her ears turned back when he again reference her smell. He knew. He knew she smelled like a human. She watched him closely as it seemed he found a new thing to chew on. She looked from the branch to him. What was she suppose to do or say? He didn't know how he would react if she told him the truth. Well actually...He didn't need to know. That was her own personal business not his. Yes, he didn't need to know about her. However, would that mean she would be considered an...
"I didn't no sneak up on you!!" She quickly said back,"There is no need for me to apologize for my smell. Anyways, you bit me out of your..." She looked at the branch,"Habit. Either way, I am no danger to you. I was just wandering around here. And I told you about my scent....I been traveling around. I just came across those two leggers. They gave me no trouble." She said calmly.
He could make this worse if he insisted on knowing the truth. A truth she didn't want to give.
"Are you from here?" She said carefully.

Asher sniffed. Really this female just wouldn't tell him what was up with the smell. It really did smell a little like those strange two-leggers. Maybe she was traumatized? Maybe they hurt her?
Asher's ears went straight up and he replied, "Ok, you didn't do it purposely... but you still did it! And... well no... I'm kinda lost."
"Anyways, you're going out of the subject about the two leggers. They must've done something! You won't talk about it. Did they hurt you?" Asher just knew he must've gotten something.
"They did, didn't they? That's why you won't talk about them!"

She concluded that he was like a big puppy. He was curious and almost playful in his own strange way. He chew things like his teeth were still growling. Also by his response to her his question, she could have laughed. He said that he was "kinda" lost. That only meant that he was lost. It made her wonder who she was dealing with. The more she talked to him, the more she considered him less of threat.
Why was she so nervous anyways? He seemed worried about her, thinking she got hurt from the two-leggers. She shouldn't be so tense. She should calm down and stop him from thinking the worst. She guessed it was what happened when a wolf has been so detached from wild wolves. She was nervous that she wouldn't belong...No, she was a wolf like them. She still had her instincts. She had been which the two-leggers but that didn't change that she was still a wolf.
She calmed, her ears perked up, and her eyes lost that fear,"Oh, now you are over thinking it." She didn't want him to worry,"No, they did not hurt me. I..." She stopped. Would it be right to tell him? Would he look down on her? Well, she might as well risk it?
"I have been living with them for years now. The two-legger that took care of me had just passed away. She let me go." Alaqua watched the wolf carefully.

Asher grinned, moving from branch to a paw, and wagged his tail. The female had stopped being so guarded with him, not that all wolves shouldn't be guarded, and was giving him an answer!
Asher tilted his head, wondering how to process the new information. Was it some type of ploy? Was it the truth? Or was it some like concoction to deceive him?
Asher decided to proceed with caution, maybe this female wolf learned things... things that might hurt him. "Then... you're not with the two-legger... anymore? Why... come here?"

Her ears turned down. She didn't imagine hearing from another person would be painful. She guessed it was just reality finally meeting her. She knew her caretaker and alpha was gone but it just was more effective to hear it from someone else. It was almost the final step in moving on, to realize that she was on her own. Though she must never forget that she wasn't alone...
"I used to wear things that my alpha, the two-legger, had given me everything, even the name that I hold. Her last wish was for me to be free for she had pulled off everything that I wore that was a symbol of our unity. I was free to leave." She paused for a bit,"I just felt I need to fulfill her wish."
Alaqua noticed how bold she was being. She just called one of the two-leggers her alpha which probably shock anyone. She grew silent after that. She told herself that she would keep her connect to them to herself but this one pull it out of her. Though she did feel better, she felt calmer. She could be more of herself now. However, that is considering the wolf before her had already thought she was some one of shame. She wouldn't know how to deal with that...

Asher thought... and thought. He pondered over this information, mulling over it and thinking over it. A two-legger? An alpha? Was that possible? If this female wolf was speaking the truth, it would be... Asher guessed.
"The... two-legger... your... alpha..? Wanted you to leave? She dead?"

Now she wasn't sure if he was asking things over or just plain confused. She wasn't sure how to react to him so she just kept on being hopeful and calm. His thoughtful face almost made her want to chuckle but she told herself to be serious.
"Ah...Yes. I call her my alpha. She knew she was dying so she let me go and now she is dead." She didn't like using the word dead so she forced it out when she said it. It was a horrible word. She didn't believe things were truly dead.
"I am sorry if this all confuses you..." She felt a bit bad almost if she had literally afflicted him with pain. He looked lost, very lost.
She sat there, ear still down and blinked at the wolf. She was wondering what he would say next.

Asher decided there was really much to think about. He'd never known of a wolf with a case like hers before. Was it bad? Was it good? Maybe he should treat her as any other wolf. He was odd himself. They always told him that.
Asher shook his head, tail in mouth, saying "It's not too confusing. It's just... I don't know how to react."
Asher then realized something. It took the wolf awhile for her to tell him that the two-legger was dead. He moved a little closer and said, "How long ago was it? That she died? She is dead right?"

He just said words on how she exactly felt about his words. That made her ears perk up and her tail sway. It was almost funny. Alaqua almost felt a little spooked by it but only dealt with it as if it was a good omen then a bad one. There was a chance that she could have gained some trust from the individual before her.
Alaqua watched him as he continued on his chewing, moving to his tail now. He never stopped chewing, did he? She watched him with a mix of amusement and uncertainty.
"Yes, she died days ago..." She answered softly and watched him closely,"Why does that matter?"
