I'm pretty well Versed in... [ -Less Experience] [ +More Experience]

Wado Ryu Karate -
Hapkido -
Freestyle & Greco-Roman Wrestling +
Boxing +
Muay Thai (& K-1 Style Kboxing) +
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu +
Sanshou (Wushu) -
MMA +

although It's next to impossible for many ppl to excel @ more than one of these at a time unless they've been @ it DAILY for an extended period of time, and if they are EXTREMELY Athletic.

I fight Sanshou (Wushu) [6-0-1 Current Ontario Heavyweight Champion]
and Professional MMA [1-0]

FOR MMA I Feel the Martial arts that provide me with the greatest advantages are:

#1 Muay Thai - Muay thai Is a great launching point for an MMA Striking skill set. You will learn how to stand strong, suffocating your opponent with a balanced attack of punches and kicks, you will learn how to range your attacks. You will learn how to Utilize your Control and Poise in the clinch game, which may prove the X-Factor when defending take downs, and setting up strikes.
(I'm also 6'3'' and fight @ 205, so I take advantage of my striking power and usual Long reach advantage)

#2 Greco Roman Wrestling- I feel is the ultimate compliment for Muay Thai Based fighters. Most of this style is based out of the standing clinch, and it will greatly increase your chances of keeping a fight standing up.
you can also utilize this to get into great striking positions.

#3- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - NOBODY WANTS TO GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE!
BJJ is the ultimate skill to aqcuire in order to change ground positions, applying subtle techniques can keep you safe from otherwise devastation attacks, and may improve your ground position substantially, setting up opportunities to get back to your feet, or quickly ending the fight with ground strikes or submission.

NEITHER OF THESE MARTIAL ARTS WILL PREVAIL ON THEIR OWN.

TAKE TIME TO SPECIALIZE IN TRANSITIONS (Standing from the Ground / Clinch to striking ..etc.)

And when Grappling remember Strikes can come @ Any time, from ANY position

MMA is it's very own Martial art in my humble opinion.

Nice, you usually don't see that kind of a mix. It's usually a mauy thai/bjj or a boxing/wrestling.
