Smiling shyly at him, Dahlia felt quite comfortable around this buck. Usually, she was swatting away at annoying bucks and peppy does, but he seemed relaxed and calm.

"A walk sounds nice." Still smiling, she lightly touched him with her tail, the tip of it blending into the grass. Taking a few steps, she really didn't know how long they would be walking, but as long as he was there, she'd be alright. He was good company to have, and she didn't want to let him go just yet.

"Let's walk then." Lucero said softly, smiling as he was brushed by her tail. He knew this area fairly well, and he was determined to show her the best. The hart turned and began forward, keeping his pace at a comfortable level for talking. "So.... Maybe we should try to get to know each other better?" The hart asked, turning back to smile at her. Getting to know her better seemed like a wonderful way to spend the evening. "Do... Do you have any family?" Lucero asked, figuring that it would be polite to begin.

Stepping lightly, Dahlia tried to keep her focus on the things around her. The grass was soft, and the trees seemed to have a certain glow about them. It made her feel more comfortable, as focusing on the other hart just seemed too strange.

"I don't." Smiling at him, she seemed a little too happy about the fact. When she was younger, her mother was around, but..."Do you? I think the idea of a family is such a nice thing, but it's been so long since I've had one." Looking at him, he seemed like the type to have a family- a mother, father, siblings.

Lucero followed along at Dahlia's side, smiling at her. His attention never left the beautiful hind at his side. "Yes, I am family. There's my mother and father and then my brother and my twin sister. Although, I unfortunatly haven't seen them in a while. We grew up and all moved out and about." He wouldn't mind having another sort of family. One of his own.

"It sounds quite wonderful." Smiling faintly, Dahlia's eyes seemed far off as she stared at the ground before her. "I wish I had a family like that." Looking over towards him, she grinned. "My family was small, even when it was still called a 'family.'" Looking towards the branches above her, she tried to think fondly of those times, but there were few fond memories.

"Maybe someday..." Looking back at him, she couldn't help but imagine...

It wasn't unusual to find a herla that dreamed of someday finding a family, but hearing that this particular hind wanted one.... For some reason, it made Lucero oddly happy. "Families are wonderful things. They make life so much... richer." He nudged her shoulder again lightly, "You seem to me to be someone who would make a wonderful mother." He said gently, smiling. He hoped he wasn't being too bold, but felt that it was the right thing to say.

"You think so?" Truthfully, Dahlia felt more than a little embarrassed by his comment, but in a good way. "I just...don't think I'd find the right one to start a family with. Or if I did, they wouldn't like me at all." Laughing, she knew that parts of her words were true. She had seemed to have a way of blowing others off, or not showing the right emotion.

Looking over at him, she really hoped that maybe, this time, she was showing all the right signals.

Lucero nodded, smiling at the newly met female. "Of course I do. From what I can see, you're a calm, wonderful herla. You'd make the best kind of mother there is. One who loves her kids and can see the value of a family." He stated warmly as he again nudged her. "And for that matter, if you meet someone who didn't like you then they're clearly not the person to start a family with. You'd need a wonderful gentlemen of a hart to start a family with. Not some peabrain." The hart paused in their stroll, smiling down at her. "Besides, I'm sure that there isn't a hart out there that wouldn't like you."

"Oh, such the gentleman." Laughing lightly, no one had ever complimented her in such a sweet way. Vulgarity, she was used to, but this was really nice.

"I guess I just have a sort of fairy-tale romance stuck in my mind." Stories of love and happiness are what kept her going as a little fawn. That's partially what made her so anxious now, because the buck next to her looked like such a prince charming.

"I wonder if I'll ever find that other herla." Looking towards the tree tops, sliding her purple eyes to look at Lucero.

Again, he smiled at her. "A fairy tale romance would suit you I think. You're just the sort of princess that a hart dreams of finding." He said quietly, his smile warm. He turned his eyes upwards to follow her gaze, trying to see if he could spot the moon through the thick green. "I don't. I already know that you'll find someone special. How could someone as lovely and warm as yourself not?" Now he looked back toward her, meeting her eyes. "I hope to someday find a special hind to love and start a family with. But there are so few hinds out there that are dignified and calm yet warm and loving at the same time. There are so few like you seem to be."

"Like....me?" Coming to a stop, Dahlia could feel her heart begin to pound. At first, she had thought that maybe his actions were just an extension of her imagination, but now it seemed like maybe, just maybe...

"I, um. I..." Speechless was an understatement. Sure, they had just met, but Dahlia believed that if two souls connected, it didn't matter how long they knew each other.

Lucero chuckled softtly, nudging Dahlia again. "Yes. Like you." He smiled, a light blush coloring his cheeks. "Since I saw you, I feel like...... Like I could be with you. I.... I can't explain it. Just, being in your company feels.... Feels right." He was embarrassed to be admitting such feelings to a hind he had only just met, but they were the truth. He felt connected to her.

Staring blankly at him for a few moments, Dahlia felt numb for a moment. Could this really be happening?

"That makes me so happy." Laughing a little, she leaned her forehead against him, trying to make sure she had understood the situation correctly and she wasn't hallucinating. "I really think you might be my prince charming." She mumbled quietly, though her words were still audible. This really was like a dream come true.

As she leaned against him, Lucero's blush darkened and he couldn't help but nuzzle the top of her head, needing to reassure himself just as she was. "I would love to be your prince charming. And to start a family. I... I just would love to be with you always." This was the hind. She was perfect and, no matter how short of a time he'd known her, he knew that he would always love her.
