First a Suggestion on the poll problem, why not have 4 polls and split the ideas among them, and after a week of voting, take the top voted one (Or Two.) from each poll, and put them into a new poll, with the top one from that poll being the theme we pick? This is only if too many are suggested for the poll of course.

My Theme Suggestion here is a call back to the days of T-Corp, the Corporation that invented the time machines from the 6th annual ball. And who was planned to be behind the whole story book problem from the 7th.

To make up for their past mistakes, T-Corp has opened their doors one time only for the Annual Ball Goers, In an attempt to show the world that they are more then just a corporation that deals with time related research, and to make a name for themselves. Meaning that the Annual Ball would take place at their Headquaters.

The Rooms would each be modeled after a Research Group, 8 in all.

Group 01 : Time Research
(This is the group behind the Time Machines of the 6th Annual Ball.)

Group 02 : Fairy Tale Research
(Behind the events at the 7th annual ball.)

Group 03 : Public Relations
(This Group is in-charge of keeping T-Corp out of the News, and to keep their Image looking good to the Public.)

Group 04 : Robotic Technology

Group 05 : Ancient Gaian Research
(Basically a group that keeps track of the past of gaia.)

Group 06 : Health Research

Group 07 : Pollution Research

Group 08 : Solar System Research

Group 00 : This group is the board of directors
(The Main room perhaps?)

T-Corp will be trying to make it a fun time for everyone, showing off what good they've brought to the world, etc, etc.. While The mysterious Group 11 will show up, Group 11, as they call themselves, are researchers from all the other groups who think the technology and research should be used for evil. T-Corp won't say anything, but they have been having problems with Group 11 for quite some time, and this ball will simply be too temping for them. Group 11 would show up as their own room to interrupt the annual ball, making the clam that Technology should be used for evil, they will use the tech of the other groups to mess up their rooms. In the middle of the ball, they would kidnap Group 00 and demand that the ball goers be their research subjects.

That's all I have now, pretty much all the rooms can be changed to something else, but I think we should keep Groups 00, 01, 02, 03, and 11 as is in this list. We could also add more groups to this as well if we want more then 10 rooms for this plot.

A Fairy Ball

I also like the idea of a Seelie and Unseelie themed ball with a Celtic twist, but not one that involves the seven sins as well. I personally, feel it will over complicate the theme. Dealing with the Seelie and Unseelie courts will already give us a plethora of material to work with.

I feel we should divide each court up into knolls. We can have one main court and then each court can have 2 knolls. Knolls would be minor kingdoms within the larger court, perhaps more specified to a particular type of fey.

Each court could have it’s own king or queen all loyal to either the king or queen of the Seelie Court or Unseelie Court. The Seelie Court and Unseelie Court could have a disagreement and decide to have a series of competitions between the two which would help flesh out the plot line and add spice to the roleplay.


I really feel this is an original idea with a lot of material to work with that would allow for everyone’s input.

I hope it's okay, I want to give my idea for this theme. Since I was the first to post it.... (not necessarily the first to have the idea).

I thought maybe we could alter the plots- especially with WHAT IF scenerios. For example, What if Hamlet didn't love his father, and thus didn't avenge him? Would we have a seriously peeved ghost wandering the castle? This would help lend to creativity....

The Main Room ; The Globe Theatre
The Host ; The Bard himself
Co-Host ; King James or Queen Elizabeth (I know that he didn't really write plays for her, but it was during "Elizabethan England," and she is a more recognizable figure.) Or maybe someone he may have worked closely with. That Duke he allegedly loved.

Other rooms should be famous plays, that most people have heard of. Here are some examples and scenerios.

Hamlet ; Example already given
Romeo and Juliet ; What if Romeo never fell out of love with Rosalie, but still married Juliet?
MacBeth ; What if MacBeth was strong willed and not manipulated by his wife?
A Midsummer Night's Dream ; What if Puck refused to give the antedote to the mixed up lovers?

I know there's only four there, but they are just examples.
