  Room Hosts will be chosen after Theme / Rooms are chosen. I'm going to be putting the theme to a vote all next week. And I know I led a committee and hosted a room, but some might be overwhelmed by that. I'm going to take it on a case by case basis. ♥

To OP: You are new, you will understand as the planning progresses why the ball was made for the host to pick the next main host, then the room hosts. I feel insulted to tell you the truth (even though I am not host, co-host or any previous host) but I have worked with the ball many years and to have all of a sudden, now someone saying something about a good system. Most of the stuff here is done by vote but there needs to be some things that are not put up to vote and I feel host is one of those things that shouldn't be put up to a vote, it prolongs progress.
To angelishia: Sorry about someone blurting, and sorry if this post stepped on your toes, but I hate how every freakin' year the ball starts out so unorganized.

Actually, Jacklyn was here last year in the guild.
And I agree with Shu, the idea for the Host to chose the top 5 people you like then letting the guild put it to a vote. That way, you know that the person is responsible because you were able to chose the top 5, but the guild can also decide who they think is best out of those 5.

-The Dusk Sky- Actually, Jacklyn was here last year in the guild. And I agree with Shu, the idea for the Host to chose the top 5 people you like then letting the guild put it to a vote. That way, you know that the person is responsible because you were able to chose the top 5, but the guild can also decide who they think is best out of those 5. Well I couldn't see who made the original post, but she came in last year, and it was the same way then but no one complained about it.

I think the top five nominations being chosen by the host and then being voted on by the people is a brilliant idea for next year. Perhaps, for now; however, we can concentrate on the matters at hand, themes and committees. I am particularly interested in how themes turn out. I'll be posting my ideas soon and I look forward to reading all of yours.

To be completely honest, I think it should stay as it is. After all, who knows better than the past host about what the previous host will need? This is why members nominate, and the host chooses the next. I think a vote would be highly inappropriate. Mainly because I know I nominated, and would've voted for, the one one person I knew that could do it. If I were to explore the other rooms, I'm sure I would've met other people to nominate. But as it is, I'm sure everyone would mostly vote for who was in the same room as them. Meaning, a lot of people would choose the one person they know, not even knowing whether or not they're better than their competitors.
