Personality
« Serious » Rudolf's defining trait. He is a deep thinker with a calm, somber disposition. He much prefers tranquility and quietness to high-energy activity unless he's hunting or doing a task. Everything he does is done with purpose, to conserve energy, to survive. He can be quick to temper and somewhat gruff if one gets on his bad side. It's also difficult for him to "play" or loosen up sometimes.
« Nomadic » Wanderlust: a strong, innate desire to rove or travel about. It's the only life Rudolf knows. He's never considered staying in one place, especially after the events of his past. He will spend several nights or weeks in one shelter and then move on to another. Best not to leave a trail.
« Wild » Heeding the roots of his ancestors, this dog is very much in tune with his primal side. On misty nights, he howls into the dark sky and imagines the answering calls of wolves. Despite his feral upbringing, Rudolf believes there is more that he can be than an outcast's son. He doesn't want to live in fear of humans, his breed was made all those years ago to
help them. While he will probably never agree to living indoors as domestic dogs do, Rudolf wants to show the world that he can be a "good" dog.
« Steady / Devoted » There's fire in this dog's heart and in his eyes. It's a fire to survive, to live, to accomplish his goals. When he sets his mind and heart to something, Rudolf will follow it through to the end. He sets the bar very high for himself, always pushing forward. His word is his bond, and no mistake. Hard work is part of his every-day life and his plans for the future. His lifelong dream is to become a sled dog.
« Curious » Ever since he was a pup, Rudolf's had an insatiable curiosity for learning new things or reasons why. Spying on humans, going places his mother told him not to (although he'd never venture too far out of the woods), sticking his head into hollow logs before getting stuck… that sort of thing. One would think he'd gotten enough porcupine quills to the face, brambles caught in his fur, and angry bears to deal with. Even though curiosity can get you into trouble sometimes, it's worth finding out for yourself.
Physical description
Rudolf has clearly spent all of his life out of doors, in dirt and under foliage. His pelt is not the groomed, silky smooth fur of house-dogs. It's unkempt and may be a little dirty if it hasn't rained in a while. There could be a few brambles or twigs in it. His paws are almost always stained with mud unless he's just run through a puddle or some snow. Lean muscles in a sturdy body point to the fact that his hunting skills have been honed over quite some time, he keeps himself well-fed but agile and strong.
Voice
He doesn't talk much, out of habit. In the woods, it's best to keep quiet lest you scare off the prey. His speaking voice is low, gentle, and calm. His howling is deep, almost like it could come from a much bigger dog, and it sounds distinctly lonely.
