Hokkan - Genbu Village

A figure dressed in all black watched the two walk down the street, toward the nice area of town. He smiled a bit, thinking he might be able to steal from these two, and thought he might want to try, at least the soldier. The other man seemed of little consequence. A green symbol glowed for a moment on his forehead, the symbol of Tomite, before it was concealled by the liquid darkness that surrounded the man. Keeping to the natural shadow, Tomite began to follow them.

Chen couldn't help but to be wowed at the large extravagant houses belonging to the towns officials, and he couldn't help but to gawk at Narro when he seemed to take no notice of them. The market was a fairly large, larger than any he had ever been in back home, so he listened intently as Narro explained the plan. He cocked a brow at the last comment. He wondered about the meaning of the woman with a peacock to himself as he followed Narro through the market. "It would probably be best to stay together. I wouldn't know where to go for anything..." He said truthfully. And he wouldn't. Chances are he would browse for a while, buy a useless souveneir to send home, and be scolded for wasting money and forgetting the food.

A figure clothed in black caught his eye as he walked, but when he turned to look, they were gone. He furrowed his brow and looked to Narro, pointing a bit. "Did you see...?" Chen figured he would probably sound crazy, but he could have sworn he saw someone.

Narro looked over at Chen and studied his face. He acted like he had just seen something but Narro hadn't noticed anything or at leaste nothing out of the ordinary, but he would keep his eyes open for something in the mean time.
"That's fine," Narro said, acknowledging Chen's decision to stick with him. Narro walked through the market with a stride of confedence. Some people shuffled out of his way, not out of fear but with an additude that showed respect. Narro walked down one of the ailes formed by the various carts and stopped at one that sold various grains and rice.
The merchant who seemed to be counting his daily earnings quickly hid then away as he saw the company ((? Do you mind me moving you to follow me?)) approach.
"Why hello Sir Narrogen," the merchant said as he walked up and bowed.
"And hello young master __."
"Chen," Narro said filling in the blank.
"Young master Chen," the merchant continued while he studied Narro's coin pouch that was heavy with money, "What can I get you today?"
"I think Chen'll pick what to eat today," Narro said. In his mind this was a sort of test for the young man. He had said he was interested in the imperial soldiers, after all, so why not see his decision making skills first hand.
The merchant's eyes glanced over Chen for a bit before he spoke to him, "It must be nice to have such a famous relativy in the family. Eh? Go ahead and pick whatever you like. Don't worry, it's all top of the line."

Tomite followed closely, his mark glowing faintly as he wove the shadows around himself. He had been planning on stealing the fat purse on the Captain's belt, but they stayed out of his reach. He frowned a bit and watched them go up to the merchant. He transferred quickly to the other side of the street to keep a close eye on them.

Chen stared at the merchant as he spoke. "Oh! No, we're not..." He looked at Narro, trying to find any sort of resemblance. "We're not related." He shook his head and began to look over the man's stock. "I... Really wouldn't be of any help in choosing things. I don't know what your men like." He said to the soldier. A decent reason for not picking out food for lord knows how many men. The last thing he would want is to piss off a group of hungry soldiers. "Why don't you... pick?"

He slowed down a bit as he finished, when, once again, he saw the stranger clothed in black out of the corner of his eye. The man stood out even more the way he was just standing still, and staring at them. "What does he want?" He said, more to himself than Narro.

Tomite smiled at the guy walking down the street, nodding in appreciation that the man had actually seen him. He saw a symbol glowing in the middle of his forehead, his messy hair seems to move as if caugh in a wind. The bad scar that ran across the bridge of his nose made him seem tragic and fierce at the same time.

Narro looked over at Chen and depated. It was clear that the young man really didn't feel like choosing. But Narro couldn't decide if it was because Chen was being polite or if he felt uncomfertable in this situation, something Narro would have regarded as a weakness.

"Honestly it really doesn't matter what you pick," the merchant said to Chen. "As I've heard it Kale eats just about anything and Olisho is half asleep most of the time. As for Sir Narro and..." but the merchant stoped talking as he felt Narro's eyes.
The merchant looked back and Narro and chuckled uneasily. "Nevermind," he said, finishing his speach.

Narro was just about to pick something when he heard Chen mention someone. Looking in the direction of Chen's gaze he spotted the man.
A small frown appeared on Narro's lips.

"Trouble."

Tomite grinned and winked when the soldier looking man looked at him. He stepped foward, bending the shadows in a strange way, the symbol buring on his forehead, then it disappeared and the shadows snapped back to normal. "Later, Gentlemen." He lept quite nimbly up and grabbed onto the lip of the roof.

Chen watched the man, in an utterly confused state. "What... was that...?" He couldn't see what to make of the situation. There was a glowing symbol on the man's forhead as he dissappeared. "Did you see...?" He meekly pointed at where the man had just been. The merchant grunted and Chen looked back to him. "Oh! Um..." He pointed out some of his favorite rices and grains, etc, and picked out some new one as well. With that out fo the way, he turned back to the soldier. "Alright. We've got food. Should we go after him?" He looked around a bit, trying to figure out where the man had gone.

Tomite dropped down into an alley, figuring the two men thought him long gone. He made a little cocoon of darkness around himself again, casing the people walking down the street. His stomach growled, reminding him he hadn't eaten in 4 days. He was also a bit light headed, and knew he needed to concerse his ki, but he needed to get some money.
