"Yeah, I guess..." truth is... Edward didn't think that trying to avoid Endless was as easy as it seemed. The way Ed saw Endless act around her... he believed that the starry male would follow her around wherever she went. And well... Ed didn't really know what Lili felt about that guy, except for the fact that he was the one she chose. He would just have to trust her judgement... as hard as that was.
He knew that Setsumi worried... but that didn't stop him from getting a little defensive, especially in his already stressed state. "I'm not a little kid!" he said a little bit more harshly than he intended, "I can take care of myself." Ears flattened again, and there was an apologetic glance... then a shrug, brows lowering. "She pretended to be Lilianna... Envy just shot off his mouth the entire time, that's all."

The reality of actually achieving such avoidances did seem slim, didn't they? If Endless was just as emotionally clingy as Lily could be, then solo encounters were very unlikely. What was a third wheel to do but roll off elsewhere?
Setsumi held her tongue and let the boy vent, knowing it would have to come eventually. And she'd rather that the outburst be directed at herself and not any other emotionally strung friends. A nod was given at his unspoken apology. "Even adult's can get hurt. And...it's only my place to care." She glowered as Ed retold the event in a nutshell. "Always with the mind games. And you know better than to believe the words of those fake beings."

That's exactly how Edward felt... like he was the third wheel. He'd told Lilianna that Endless was her best friend now... and isn't it the truth? There's seldom room for close friends when you have a mate, who is supposed to be your closest friend. He had hoped his closest friend could be something more.. but instead things seemed to be going the opposite way he'd intended.
"Unless there's some truth to them..." he said softly. He then got up, bristling as he stomped about in a circle. He wanted to hit something... but there was nothing there. "How come that b*****d has a mate... kids... a -family-... and I don't!" It wasn't fair... not at all. Did Edward not deserve such simple things? How in the hell was Envy worthy of them?

How sad, to think friends and mates couldn't co-exist. Setsumi had met many a families, were friends were abundant and bonds strong. But she had never met any love situation like that between Ed and the others. In such a case, friendship was tested like no other. And that was a topic she truly hated; that of mere roles breaking bonds.
Ears pinned back as Edward considered the sin's words. His nerves were that fried that he was looking for any flaw and outlet. Though none were positive. "How can you compare yourself to him? Mate, kids, family; he wouldn't know the meaning of the words." Surely such thoughtless spawn were not burdens to Edwards consideration of a family. And the alchemist knew it, if he'd just pause for a moment.
"Take a deap breath Edward. You're still young, and have a whole life to live." Eyes drifted. "Besides.....is not Alphonse soon to come?" The feathered kitsu believed that the younger blood kin would be the best, if not only comfort for Ed. "You'd....be better off to focus your energy on that."

Thoughtless... perhaps... maybe... but still. He had what Edward did not.. and Envy had enjoyed rubbing it in his face. Despite it all.. it didnt change the fact that Edward had no kin... None. He was alone here. Sure he had some friends... but most of them were rather strained at the moment.
Edward paced... but the mention of Alphonse slowed him down considerably, eventually to the point where he laid himself down on his stomach. Had he been so wrapped up in this life that he'd forgotten about his little brother? "I'd like to think so..." he murmured, regarding Al's soon coming. But really.. he only had the word of someone he barely knew, and couldn't be sure if her premonitions were well founded.

Well, that had calmed him somewhat. Or at least stopped his pacing. Legs stood and she soon moved herself to sit beside the other, mindlessly reaching out and petting his own feathers. Did he really believe himself to be alone? Guess love gone wrong can do that to people.
Setsumi nodded to herself while glancing back up at the sky. "Odds are good. Many kitsus had past lives, and have found each other again in this lifetime." She smirked. "Like Mr. Roy. I'm sure other's will soon follow." It was already enough of a happiness to have the young alchemist hoping for something considered magical.

Lapsing into quiet thought again, he started to think of his brother. As much as he missed him, Edward had tried to move on since there was really nothing he could due to bring them here faster. Of course... those thoughts just went right back to Lilianna. She had become his friend...his best friend. As hard as all of this might be, he didn't want to give up on that friendship.
He snorted a bit at the 'Mr. Roy'. That was something he hadn't heard before. "I guess..." was his reply, but the real question was when. When would Alphonse and Winry show up? It could be soon or quiet some time from now.
Resting his chin on his paws, with eyes half lidded... the teen stared at the grass infront of him.

That's all any of them could do now, was guess. And hope. Lifting her tails, Setsumi stretched her front paws out before moving to stand. Now to speak her own half.
"Much time has been spent here, both realm and mountain. And...it's just not my place anymore. And I'm tired of waiting..." She gave a dry chuckle. Since when did she ever have a place? Her attempt to settle somewhere had only gone so far, then crumbled. Time to move on.
She glanced down at Ed. "The same goes for Ronan. That goof can't stand being idle for too long, though he's going somewhere else. In a few day's time, we're leaving." Was that selfish, to step away from this place and all they've befriended? She hoped not, and in a way was seeking confirmation. "Terasu already knows, and has yet to decide if he'll go or stay...." That was something that she was still concerned about, especially with recent things she had to tell him. She was afraid she may have driven him away with her words.
Tails curled on the end as the femme paused in silent debate. "You're welcome to come as well, if you wish." She nodded with a simple smile. Perhaps time away would be good for the alchemist? His choice was his own though, and she merely left the offer open.

He looked surprised and confused all at the same time. She was leaving? But why?
"Where are you going?" he asked, his surprise clearly evident in his voice. Her offer to let him come, surprising him even more. He had to admit... getting away wasn't such a bad idea... and he would like to travel. But... was is really the best course of action?
He would have to know more before he could make a decision.

Heh, where was she going? Setsumi grinned and tilted her head. "That's yet to be decided. Wherever my feet take me I suppose, I won't be picky." All she knew was that she was tired of seeing the ever same woods and mountain terrain. "I'd like to go to the land of sand though." Beyond the land of sand, that's were her own origins were. A long delayed visit may do her good, especially if Terasu decided to come along.
A brow raised to the winged teen. "Does destination matter? The point is to get away, why get tied down with worrying?"

The teen considered her words for several moments, a faint smirk appearing on his face. To get away... kinda like a vacation. Perhaps that's what he needed.
"Naw.. not really." He was merely... curious. Yeah. Again he he thought for a moment. He likely wouldn't be all that missed if he left. After all... there wasn't much left for him here now, right? Setsumi was the closest thing he had to family, and if he did go with her... he'd cover a lot of distance. Perhaps he could find his brother or Winry on the way. You never know. And Lilianna... well.. she'd likely be preoccupied with other... things...
"I'll go" he then said at last. The teen lifting a paw up and removing a little device from his ear. He wouldn't be needing that anymore. The communicator that Lilianna had given him.

BP is a PHOENIX! 8D
Ears flicked back at his voice, pondering before realizing what he was confirming. No, it didn't matter. Not when emotions were so tense and freedom was something desperately quenched.
Paws moved her forward slightly, just to allow her legs some stretching. And her mind to clear. She already knew her own decisions, and was eager to fullfill them. Even so, she had her duties to care for. She'd have to once more speak to Terasu, and only pray he was willing to backstep.
Her thoughts snipped and she turned her head to Ed. He would go? She was stunned, having almost guessed him to wander off alone. But...that would be too much like Roy, wouldn't it. She smiled before perking her ears at the small device in Ed's paw. She turned and placed her own paw over the item. "Are you sure? Even brief calls of hellos are better than nothing."

I am. XD
"I'm sure" he said, having already made up his mind. If he was going to 'get away' then he should do it properly... without attachments to what was being left behind. He needed to clear his head, and not have the temptation of calling upon Lilianna and just further deepening his problems. Besides.. she and Endless were probably busy with things he likely didn't want to know about. No sense in bothering them.

"Alright then." Setsumi removed her paw and stepped back, turning to the direction of HQ. "Before this little 'vacation' though, I need to speak to Terasu." She flicked an ear to Ed. "You can use this time for whatever else you need to do." Even with all these burdens, there was still time for fair-wells. And there was enough time to decide who would recieve them. "Take your time, think things through, and I'll meet you at HQ?"

Getting to his paws, Edward nodded, allowing for a more genuine smile. To be honest.. he was somewhat excited about leaving and seeing new places. There was a bit of wander lust in Edward that had yet to be quelled. Sure he'd been to the Mountain and back... but well... this journey had the potential to be a great deal more exciting... and he would have good company as well.
A nod was given, "Alright... I'll meet up with you there." He doubted that he would have anyone to really say goodbye to... but you never know what might come up. He would put away some of his things, and with that thought in mind... Edward turned and started off in the direction of the HQ.
