People can be rude and that just sounds like rudeness, not like you are attention starved. Who wants to converse with a pushy person that is fixated on their own topics of conversation, won't admit that there might be other valid viewpoints and who does not include everyone in the conversation? That is just a rude person. All you can do in that situation is either make yourself heard, or sit back and pay attention to something else.

I suppose you are right! But maybe I need to be a little pushier myself? I'm always so conscious of striking up convos that interest the whole party, but I have no knowledge of myself! @_@ Maybe if I push my own topics into the fore at appropriate times...?

Err... I can't help on this. I don't talk often unless the topic is something I'm rather passionate about. If not, I don't say a word typically. Sometimes if the conversation seems to be hogged by a single person I might try to change it if something appropriate comes up, but by doing that I typically cut the person off. I'm socially inept like that, heheh.

I always imagined social as in hanging out with friends AND having fun...not being social as though it was work! Like I imagine it would be if one was a business person or a politician where it's more lke you're selling a product or service to customers...@_@

I share the same opinions as the most of you..I don't consider myself needy at all...and I do have a lot of patience, even on the needy ones...I give them the attention that the people aren't giving them..not to be boastful but I have close friends who used to do drugs and stuff but stopped when I became their friend..I even have a friend who whore herself to men just to feel loved..now my ex-drug addict friend is a nurse and my ex-whoring friend is married happily in Germany with two beautiful kids...Giving a little attention and care can make a big change in someone's life...and it's a small act really, it's not like you put her to rehab and paid for it...
For me being social means getting comfortable speaking and conversing with other people, regardless of purpose...whether for fun or for work..And I think Uma and I are on the same boat...I not socially inept, but being social can be tiring..it's like I was burned out being social..all I wanted now was to spend time with my partner and have a quiet happy life..I guess it's because of age...gone are the times that I want to go out late at night and party with my friends...and boy, did I PPPAARRTTYYY!
It's like I've graduated on that phase already..preparing for the next phase...

ah, yes, 'the next phase'. Me? I like to saturate in each phase xd And that's cool about your friends! It's rare to meet someone who's actually nice and optimistic like that razz lol

you should saturate it...try things while your young and you body can still handle it...just make sure that when you make a mistake, you learn from it and not do it again.. wink
