Like the title says, I leaned to always check my mare's hooves more than once a day.
Just alittle story i'm puttin' out.
Me and cookie were going to do some "trail practice" and walk on the driveway and gravel/dirt road (we might have to cross a few roads on the trails).
We we walking all dandy, a nice sunny day and we walked around the shop and back down the road, when I noticed she didn't want to walk down the road. I was confused and was wondering, what's going on? I tried many manuvers (Spelling? uhhyeah, i'm bad at that somtimes) and she still didn't want to go on the little road on the side opf the shop. Then I walked her on the flat top part of the driveway to see if she was walking alright. I then noticed she wasn't putting much weight on her front left hoof. I went to pick it up and found an inch long peice of a steel pipe embedded in her frog!!! My Poor Baby!!! I was horrifed and felt so bad for her to walk on her poor hoof! And thats why you should always check your horse twice for any problems. Yes, and thats what happened.
I held on to the thing to remind myself.
And thats my story.
