That's right, I want to know, out of all the animes you all have watched, which one has the best ending? I mean, of course we all know of endings like inuyasha and evangelion that make you want to punch yourself in the face, but what about the good ones?
Personally, I think that my favorite endings are:
Deathnote
Chrono crusade
in no particular order... I mean if you've seen them, you'd know what I mean. Chrono crusade was so sad, it was one of the three spots in anime that I wanted to cry (following episode 25 of deathnote and FMA), it was very emotional. Deathnote was a mixed time for me, I mean I loved how it ended, and couldn't imagine it ending differently, however, I also had this feeling of upsetness after it... it was, needless to say, amazing.

-Snape kills dumbledore
-Aeris dies at the hand of sephiroth
-Darth vader is luke's father and luke makes out with his sister...

Although like you said, a certain someone dying so early on made me not wanna watch the rest of the anime. emo I loved that lil' tweaker. crying They didn't make the manga ending though. the one with the crazy kira cult and such.A decent ending was outlaw star even if the end was too predictable. 3nodding

Definitely Chrono Crusade, although I want to read the manga to see how different the ending is.
Then... I think Rurouni Kenshin. The manga wasn't as sad as the series though the manga ending was slightly-- not disappointing, but I can't put a word on it. You know? sweatdrop
As for the rest... Um... I need to read/watch Death note. >_>

I highly highly recommend you read it!! ... the only part that's weird in the manga is that, for the first 3 books they call the Ishbalans "ishvarlans" then the rest of the series it's "normal" so um... i dunno... sweatdrop

Haha. sweatdrop sometimes it's the publishing company that makes the changes. Other times publishers change completely. Like look at poor SDK! it's ahd at least three different publishers. lol
