I usually say 'uuwah' as in 'eek' or 'eeii' alot of the time. For example, 'Uuwah! I think I'm lost! >.<' or 'Uuwah! I can't do THAT!' or mabey even 'Uuwah! Thats sooo kawaii!'
And usually, I say 'desu~' at the end of my sentences. Those are HABITS.
Do you think, by saying 'uuwah' and 'desu~' often makes me seem like I'm trying to act cute???????????

Like the randomness of bringing it up
Did someone tell you "omg you're annoying and trying to be cute by saying that!" or something? (seems like it to me but I could be wrong)
Anyway... honestly, regardless of if you are "trying" to be cute or not, doesn't matter. Or it being a habit for that matter. Wether you end your sentences with Desu, or Kashira, or nano, doesn't matter does it? You're still Kaa-chan.
If people ARE being a pain in the rear with you about your habits, I think they just don't have too many friends or things to do other than pick you you >.>

I have a similar habit, but I never get any comments like that xD;; Personally I think you shouldn't care if people think you're trying to be cute or something. But that's just a crazy girl's mumblings x3;

This subject was technically discussed in real life... opposing the truth 'someone' decideds to bring it onto gaia. Hoping to gather support.....
and to Goddess, not everyone is trying to be someone their not, cuz personally im not, this is how i act in real life. I think acting someone ur not is very fake, especially wen ur behind the monitor no one knows who u really are. acting fake is just fake not alot people will accept that.

Speaking of Cheshire Cat.
Don't you think that (aside from appearance) Laplace is more like the Cheshire Cat then the White Rabbit?
I mean, the Cheshire Cat would show up randomly, always causing mischief and speaking in riddles.
Of course, I'm sure that Laplace is a combination of the two.
