Is it true that theres gonna be another season of Beyblade, called Beyblade F-Generation?

Y'know, that's the same thing Kei was telling me last night... at least, her views on it.

Nope. Not true. At all.

And I have to say I agree with her. I'll just give you the geist of her entire spiel (boy, that girl can rant...)

G-Revolution was a pretty good ending to the entire series; in fact, the first season alone was good and entertaining enough. So there were three seasons; the next two were something of a bonus.

If you've read the manga, you'll know that the BEGA arc from G-Rev was something of a filler; the BEGA members were shown on only one page and they were completely unrelated to the storyline. Not to mention that any material a studio may have used as a plot basis for a fourth season is pretty much non-existent. True, there's a special chapter at the end of volume 14, but aside from introduce the characters' kids - Rin Kon, Kinomiya Makoto, and Hiwatari Gou - it didn't do much. So where do the scriptwriters get the plot?

Besides, it isn't economically sound for any studio to take on such a project; there wouldn't be many viewers aside from the fans - who, by the way, are also dwindling. Anyone will tell you that in business, everyone wants maximum satisfaction for minimum effort. So if they really invest in a fourth Beyblade season, they'll be disappointed because the profit will amount to hardly anything.

Oh, and the name F-Generation? Sounds pretty fanfic-y to me (Fan Generation, anyone?)

Yeah, that's what Kei said...in condensed form. So I'm just kind of quoting from her. 3nodding

I couldn't care less, really, but she's got a pretty good argument going.

You actually memorized most of what I said, Kai? :O That's a first! And here I thought you weren't listening... xd

Well, in any case, there was a similar discussion in another of the Beyblade guilds I joined, and I said pretty much the same thing. The G-Rev arc in the manga is the final one, as is the third season.

Also, if a studio would be making a new Beyblade season, they'd need Aoki Takao-sensei's permission and approval...and probably a bit of his help coming up with the base plot - he is the creator, after all; all the plot stuff comes from him. As of press time, Aoki-sensei has been pretty much inactive. So I don't think such a project would pull through.

Yeah but if they did there would probably be different charaters, as like what happened with the Yu-gi-oh series. Cause in GX the charaters were replaced entirely. But Seto and the pharoh/Yugi were still mentioned a few times. The pharoh also showed up in the first episode. But other then that Yu-gi-oh GX has very little to do with the original. But for a fourth Beyblade season the may focus on a new group becoming champions.

Regardless of new characters, it isn't feasible - nor economically sound - for any animation studio to undertake a losing project. The Beyblade hype is practically extinct, save for those in its fandom (like us!).

I know, I kind of sound like a pessimist, but I'm just trying to be realistic about this. I mean, here in the Philippines, you here "Beyblade? What's that?" more often than "Hey, you watched it, too?". And then, among those who watched it, only around 20% still remember names and stuff.

One thing Yu-Gi-Oh!GX and this Beyblade F-Generation don't have in common: when GX came out, people were still interested in it, playing the game and stuff. I doubt it will be the same if F-Gen really does come out.

You have a point considering the original Yu-gi-oh was still continuing when GX came out. That would be different then if they did Beyblade F-Generation. I don't even know many people my age that like Beyblade so it may not go good, but there are some younger ones that like it.

Didn't Aoki Takao -san start a new project concerning a new game? Ara and also my friends told me that Battle B-d'amon was also something that he is working on now... I personally like Beyblade better than B'damon

It seems to me that Aoki-sensei well-known for his game designs and stories which he then turns into manga, which are in turn made into anime series. Well, Beyblade is the most obvious one (it was the first, and in the original, Kai didn't have his traingular face marks for the majority of the game), and then there's the possibility that he's doing the Battle B-Daman manga based on the game.

...that new manga on the page you linked to, Raine? That's 'X-Zone'. And the two below it are 'Bakufu Slash! Kizuna Arashi (Kizuna for short) volumes 1 and 2.

And when I said 'as of press time', I meant on the day I posted that particular uh... post (August 2, 2007). So apparently he started a new manga sometime in late August, perhaps, or September, seeing as there's only one volume of 'X-Zone' available so far...
