why did they join? do they believe in the war? do they support the government? or did they just join for the age-old desire to serve and protect their country's freedom?
just wondering....

He looked me in the eyes and said, "I had a calling, that's all." and I took it, and I respect him more for being that honest. He just felt called to serve.
He's home for a little while too which makes me a very happy girl.

I served because I was lost. I was 17 and completely lost in my life. The Army recruiter called my house and a light bulb went off biggrin ! I served for 8 years, went all over the world and back again. I got out because of my son. Nothing in my life (besides my son) will fulfill my life like the Army did. I was a recruiter for a while. Most of the kids I put in joined because it was their calling. Some joined because of money. Others joined just to get the Heck out of dodge.
