The only draw back of the series is that there are so many wonderful characters, but so little time. Many people like the obscure characters that there isn't a lot of information or as much on them as we'd like.
But, that's what fanfiction is for, isn't?

That's exactly my problem. I have trouble finding ANY problems with the series. As for the lack-of-information, I actually like it. We're given just enough understand people's motovations and their character and JKR's not long-winded about it. What's also awesome is that we know just as much as Harry does about the people around him. It was a good move because it really makes us sympathize with him.
Though, I must say I'd like to know more about the Marauders and the lives of young (younger than 11) witches and wizards. Come to think of it, adults as well. Not everyone can be an Auror, right? I mea, how many jobs are there for a wizard? Work for the ministry, open a shop, teach, or what else? That kind of bugs me. Maybe they take Muggle jobs?

I really like Harry Potter. But I know a lot of people that don't like it because of the witch-craft and stuff.

Lack of info on minor characters bugs me. And the utter predictability of the canon couples.
I NEED to know, were Barty Jr and Regulus friends in school? How did Remus, Sirius and James meet? Did Peter ever have any love interests? Were Charlie Weasley and Tonks friends in school? And What is UP with Lockhart? We dont even know IF he went to school at Hogwarts!

The epilogue for the last book was just awful (spoiler ) Did Harry really have to pick the most obvious names for his children i mean Albus Severus who would do that to a child! and Lily and James did anyone not see that coming. I agree the couple were boringly perdictable. I also didn't like the way they made Dumbledore out to be so manipulative. Ok rant over

I fell out of contact with the actual books around the fourth. I love fanfiction. I like the characters.
I guess I just couldn't handle the way they portray war. And the prejudice against Slytherin.

I mean, we would've read a hundred page long epilogue if the futures of more people were explained... The question that bugs me the most is 'What happened to George?' crying

 Caution: Spoilers:
I am also very sad.I would like to know what happened George. But the names I agree with you.Gawd, who would name their kid Albus Severus?I know its all in good will, but still... At least the other names weren't as predictable.I mean, Rose and Scopius are still something I wouldn't expect.I expected Victore, especially from Fluer. The couples, I agree were boringly obvious. We all knew they would end up!Jeez, I read that much?At least the end before the epilogue was good.I mean, who expected that?Him a horocrux?

I agree with the names, Scorpius was just awful. What I didn't like was that they would introduce all these cool sounding magical creatures but never exactly explain what they were. As for the series being done, I know this is off topic.., Well, I read that JKR just might do a prequel story, probably based on the Mauraders. I mean, they brought up all this with Snape just at the end... That's another complaint I have. Why just at the end, I know he was supposed to be bad and that showed his heart, but still... Oh well... xd

I thought the names Harry gave his children were HORRIFIC! For two reasons: a) They were predictable b) No one would do that.
Personally I can say that my father died when I was four, I still have memories of him and love him a lot. But I would NEVER name my son after him... it feels wrong, like I'm trying to replace him, a middle name maybe... Also why would you name your children after a married couple? And Albus just seems like an awful name for a child... I'd be mortified if it were me. I was disappointed because it was exactly what I'd been expecting.
I also can't stand the predictability of the cannon couples. I hate Ron and Hermione. Can't stand it. But I knew it would happen so I guess that's what fanfiction is for.
