Well i think those who have completed the game will notice the comments that laguna is squalls father and also you can see a strong resemblence but then does this mean that raine was his mother as well? then elena would be somewhat of a sister, like she was to all of them. hm..

I've heard several rumors to that effect, and I believe them to be true... The pieces all seem to fit: Squall never knew his parents; Raine had died 18 years ago, giving birth to her son; the strong resemblance between Squall and Laguna; the odd fact that Laguna carries Squall's card... It all seems to point to that conclusion...

^^ Everything does seem to point towards it, especially if you go talk to Kiros and Ward on the Airship (I forget it's name) when Laguna and Co. are visiting.

Yup, that's the general assumption. I hardly consider it an option not to be true.

Hm, I think all of the major hints have been said... I think the biggest ones are what Kiros and Ward (through Kiros) say. I think, it's roughly, "You look like your mother" and "It's a good thing you don't look like your father." I haven't played in a while, so I don't actually remember everything that happens to Ellone after Winhill, but that does fit, too.

Hee, this is one of my favorite bits of VIII, just the coincidence, not to mention their personalities.

I highly believe that this is true. As mentioned already, all the pieces seem to fit. Times, resemblances, assumptions... biggrin

hearing this without proof, I would have automatically not believed it... but now I come to think of it, it does seem pretty likely

It's Fact. If you Ppayed attention throughout the game and espetialy at the ending, you would know this to be fact. Laguna and Raine actualy ended up getting married, then Ellone was kiddinaped, then Laguna went after her, then Squall was born and Raine died, Squall is sent to Edea's orphanage, , Laguna finds Ellone, becomes President, Sends Ellone to an orphanage, which is the same one Squall went to after Raine dies.

Plus Kiro's Saying how Squall looks like his mother, and ward saying Squall has his fathers eyes. they wouldn't know these things unless Squall is Raine and Laguna's child (which he is)

Yes, Laguna was his father and Raine was his mother. It's a good storyline actually. Rinoa's mother was the piano player that loved Laguna and who Laguna loved first. That love did not work out but then their children end up falling in love. Very interesting.

I ones heared that Squall means something like: Storm.
When there is Rain (Raine) in a Lagune, there is a Storm (Squall).

I don't know if it is true though, but it does sound kind of logical.

It is true Squall is Laguna and Riane's child it was a hard one to figure out because of some of the interesting comments that Squall gives his dad(Laguna) in the flashbacks, and the fact that Elone only shows them to Squall and his friends back at the orphan house. smile

They are father and son. No question. Squall's the right age, looks the part, and even though the other kids all called Elli sis, they also said he hogged her. remeber when you see a flash back of little Sqaull crying in the rain for his sis? he was more attached to her than any of the others. Raine died in child birth. the ONLY person who could be the father is Laguna. Elli lived with Raine after her parents died - squall is more attached to elli. I can only see one possible explaination for all these simularities. Laguna IS Squall's father. n_n yes, I'm a nerd.
