Jedi Rules(your character will have the ability to become a Jedi, if you break my rules you will lose that ability)
Light saber Duels(this is for light side if you're tempted by the dark side you don't have to abide by these strictly, however this may incur the wrath of an NPC)
Lightsaber duel are for practice not for resolving disputes.
Never endanger bystanders.
Duel ends if someone is injured.
Always honor a request to end the duel.
Never strike an unarmed opponent, unless you yourself are unarmed.
Never strike an opponent who is unprepared.
Never use the force during a duel.
Nonlightsaber Tactics are considered fair game, grappling is frowned upon.
Never go for another Jedi's saber. Blasters and other weapons are fair game however.
the consequences of breaking one of these rules will be explained if and when it comes up.
Light saber battles are pretty much like duel except you don't need to abide by these guidelines, because you are fighting for your life as a lightsider you still need to watch out for bystanders and trying more to disable your opponent instead of kill them.
Lightsabers
as part of Jedi training you will have to create your own lightsaber.
you will be able to create a standard or double-bladed saber.
the handle of a lightsaber are distinct to the Jedi who creates it, so if your saber handle is made of something important to you, such as swoop bike handle bar or something, please state so.
The loss of you lightsaber is terrible and you'll be out of sync with the force until you reconstruct or regain your saber.
There are specific types of light saber switches, you must list which lightsaber you are using or I'll take it from you.
Standard: one touch on, one touch off.
Double offclick: one click on, Double click off. easy to install
Lock On: the Lightsaber's on/off can be locked in the 'on' position and can't be turned off with one touch. moderate to install
Force activated: the wielder must use the force to make a connection within the handle which allows energy to flow. Difficult to install
your lightsaber can be any color but for rare colors you must have a reason to have gotten them, either by answering the quiz question correctly , or by some other pain staking adventure, you can change which crystals are in your saber at any time outside of battles and climactic events.
Standard colors are Blue, Green, Red, White, Orange.
General Rules for my RP
first off as I said any breaking of the rules will meet with harsh punishment.
absolutely no Meta-gaming. the only information you can know about the past events are what I will list in the Story Thread, you can learn secret unknown information about these events by either discovering it on your own during the RP or by correctly answering the quiz, which will allow your party special insight into the lives of little known yet very important Star Wars characters.
No Godmodding period. your character is not invincible. He/she can be hurt, and badly, they can lose limbs and even die if you're not careful.
when in combat, if you are flashy and descriptive you can be awarded perks. By flashy I don't mean doing something that can get yourself killed, that's risky, which is a very different word. if you do something that could get you killed you will probably get seriously hurt, captured and/or killed. If you are flashy, have style to your fighting, and descriptive enough that I can actually see what your character is doing. I will reward it either with Rare items your character will stumble on or helpful plot devices.
you character profile must be as indepth and unique as possible. if yours is good enough I may grant you special plot devices, or rare items through out the RP. Stay as much within the star wars Genre as possible, but since there are thousands upon thousands of races within the galaxy you can be any you choose. I haven't yet decided if I will allow custom races. I will make a list of a few of the human like races that are force sensitive just incase you guys wanna look human but be something else, with special racial traits.
Example: the Kiffar have psychometric abilities, the ability to read thoughts or imprints left on an . an example of this is when Quinlan Vos lost his memories he was able to see some of his memories by touching his lightsaber when he found it. another would be that he could tell that Villy was planning to kill him when he touched his blaster.
if you paid attention there are multiple ways to get rare items or helpful plot devices in this RP you just have to be creative or knowledgeable about the star wars universe...if you're not either I dunno what to tell ya.
what I mean by helpful plot devices is like a get out of jail free card. in a seemingly impossible situation your character will have the power to generate an extremely unusual set of circumstances that will allow him/her to: Escape, Survive or defeat his/her opponent (this will never be used to kill somebody.) secondly I decide how the events fall into place and what exactly happens, not you, I will also decide how many times you will be able to use helpful plot devices before earning more, secondly I will never let you know if you do or do not have a helpful plot device and you'll have no control as to when and where they will be used. remember being captured may be a helpful plot device if you would have been otherwise killed.
Adversary Rules
these are rules for dealing with adversaries, not rules adversaries are forced to abide by.
Adversary rules only apply to important character against you, for example during the new republic Era Boba Fett might be an adversary.
don't worry about remembering which bad guys apply to these rules, because they'll be the ones listed on the character sheet thread. secondly adversaries do not have to start with a full character sheet, the sheet will only contain what the party knows about them. when they learn more it'll be edited to say more about that character. if you have a history with a character, such as Fett or other famous people you must list it in your character sheet.
your character sheet must contain any enemies that you may have gained through out your galactic travels otherwise I will not allow you to have enemies. enemies listed in your character sheet are free for me to abduct and turn into adversaries for the RP.
an adversary cannot be killed unless in a climactic battle or event.
a character's adversary can only be killed by the character whose adversary he is unless under specific circumstances during a climactic battle or event the adversary is killed by another player, usually to save the player whose adversary they are.
Example Han solo has Boba Fett as an adversary, only Han could kill Fett, Luke could only do it if he did so in order to protect Han, or had no other choice.
The main adversary of the RP will Be unbeatable until the final climactic battle. He also has access to all sorts of information including everything your party will do, say, and learn. also any confrontation or Battle with him prior to the climactic battle will cause you to lose your: weapon, hand, arm, both arms, leg, both legs, all your limbs, or your .
it'll be based on how much you should know at that point. as well as your alignment. for example I'd be more lenient with a darksider repeatedly attacking the main adversary everytime he appears than a lightsider. because it's part of your character as a darksider and I'm not going to punish you for RPing your character correctly, also a lightsider can be tempted to the darkside by enough defeats in which case he would repeatedly challenge the main adversary. but your RPing of these traits must be apparent before the time of confrontation or the consequences will be dire.
such as if your character begins to turn darkside from the defeats then he wold have to become obsessed with beating the main adversary. this may end with him being mortally wounded in the final combat but it won't be far from the end and I won't let you actually die until after the fight, unless you want to, to just die a dramatic and moving death to inspire your party, or to become a force spirit and help your party defeat him that way.
a lightsider will wait and watch his enemy until he can understand what gives him such strength. and at the final battle however long it takes you to figure everything out you will have a complete understanding of your main adversaries abilities. this in no way implies you have to be a lightsider to beat the main adversary in the final battle or that you will need to be one to survive the final battle it's just tips on confronting the main adversary as which side your playing, all I'm saying basically is please refrain from going berserk on him multiple times as a lightsider because that just doesn't make sense.
The RP only ends when either all the your characters are dead or the main adversary is dead. it is possible for the RP to end with every single character in it dying in some crazy super battle of ultimate awesomeness.
Light/Dark side rules
I'm pretty sure you guys know what I mean by this, for light side you tend to more humbled, logical and understanding.
Dark side you tend to be more irrational, aggressive and well just plain evil.
for grey you can kinda take parts from either.
which side you are has to be obvious to your character. THIS DOES NOT ONLY APPLY TO JEDI!
By obvious I don't mean you go crazy with it, like a darksider killing everyone in sight. I mean like little actions that show you understand which side your playing as well as show me which side you're playing without telling me, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TELL ME YOUR ALIGNMENT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE RP!
if you do something against your obvious alignment without a prior circumstance changing it even in the slightest, I will do something very bad to your character.
Example: an obvious lightsider kills someone with no reason.
to alignments there has to be an obvious force that's pushing you one way,
Example: Anakin viciously attacks A'sharad Hett(Tusken Raider Jedi.) in the heat of battle because his mother was attacked by Tuskens. a Jedi would be suggested to meditate on this to come to terms with it, but Anakin did not, and so became even darker.

Grey may be difficult to RP, mostly what I'm looking for is that you don't contradict yourself.
Example: you can't be irrational and logical at the same time, and you can't be humbled and aggressive at the same time.
Character Creation Rules
No personal ships your character does not have his/her own ship, you may have had one before but now maybe it's impounded for not paying a debt or destroyed and now you're looking for a new one.
Follin will have his own ship, but that is only so that we do have a ship we can use to travel freely through the galaxy. I'm only letting follin have the ship because he's helping me make it...it is also possible that follin's ship may be stolen, impounded, or destroyed before the RP ends.
No Vong you character cannot be a Yuuzhan Vong or any other race that has little or no force connection.
You're no Vet you character had little or no interaction with the Yuuzhan Vong or the war during 25-29ABY.
The New Kid on the block the vong have been in the system for about 5 years so there is a chance you ran into one or have learned a great deal about them between 30-35ABY.
What goes around comes around you will have to describe everything you did in between 25-35ABY, what happened to you, whether or not you abandoned the force, how old you were in 25ABY and how old you are now. whether you've shifted to the dark or stayed true to the light.
I want it to be seen through the events that befell you and your reaction to them, you are not to straight out tell me which way you went.
Your connection to the force has wained and in some cases you could have tried to destroy it, using deathsticks or other methods. Wiki Cade skywalker for and Example of this.
You can have some anger or resentment towards the force for abandoning you or someone important to you died during the war and so you abandoned the force because it abandoned them. if this is the case you'll probably act angry or hateful towards people who rely on or trust in the force.
Get a Job! Well you've turned your back on the force you've lost your friends and probably your family you probably spent alot of time with strange people and during that time you've probably picked up a trade skill or two, be it smuggling, stealing, bounty hunting, or spice dealing. you have to have some sort of occupation one that makes sense when someone looks at your back story.
Stand up and state your name for the group give an indepth back story depicting your character as best you possibly can, leave no detail left out and no rock unturned.
you must also have an indepth character description telling me all about how your character currently looks, don't forget the little details.
Your name should probably sound like it comes from the Race you chose if it doesn't Wiki the race and see some examples of their names to get an idea.
Beastlords of Onderon you will be allowed to have a companion of some sort be it beast or droid but it cannot be something giant or untameable, you can't have a Rancor or anything even a third as big or menacing. and if anyone says baby rancor they're getting hit over the back of the with a baseball bat.
Roll of the dice. any extremely complicated action will require a roll of the dice. if you're risking your life and leaving it up to chance you must roll the dice to see if chance will smile upon you. (I'll always tell you when you need to roll a dice and it won't be all the time.)
and to all you anti-cyberdice-superstitious-yahoos all I have to say is tough luck all dice are meant to do is give you an random number and cyberdice do that so I'm going to use them.
crafting your lightsaber will require the roll of the dice depending on what kind of saber it is or what kind of you have will make up the difficulty of the dice roll.
Race
"If chewbacca lives on endor you must aquit! the defense rests."
you must not forget that what race you are plays a big part in your Rping,
Human, the non-human looking races have great hostility towards you with a few exceptions prepare to be treated badly.
Kiffar, because of your psychometric powers you are likely to run your hands along anything you see whenever you enter a room, this includes: walls, switches, comm systems, etc. you cannot see images off living matter or corpses, without using the darkside of the force.
Miraluka, you must rely upon the force so any rules about forsaking the force do not apply to you, you will see the force and through it you will see force sensitives, Jedi and Sith even over great distances.
Twi'lek(females only), you probably don't like slavery very much and you might try to help anyone you can who is enslaved.
Cerean, if you went back to your planet during your travels your probably have a few wives. if you didn't your race probably isn't very happy with you.
Wookiee, all your speech must be within <> as to indicate that it's Shyriiwook. and anyone of us who does not know shyriiwook cannot understand you.
The force and you.
Calling upon the force
to call upon the force one must have a strong affinity for it. at the beginning of the RP as I've already stated your force connection is not as well as it could be(excluding miraluka). so in the beginning even if you do still have a connection to it, your connection is not strong enough to use the force to help you in all things also do not forget you can call upon the dark or light side of the force, the dark side is much easier to call out.
The dark side
the dark side corrupts you when you use it. if you use the dark side you will be darker for it and until you meditate on it, or do a light side action that cancels it out, the dark side will pull more and more at you.
dark side actions are bending the force to your will. such as resurrecting someone without the help of others, for selfish reasons.(Cade Skywalker)
The living force also known as the light side.
this is the side of the force that you call upon for assistance. such as to heal a wound or allow your body to be faster, stronger, or more sturdy.
light side actions are asking the force for assistance rather than commanding it or helping someone in need, with or without the force's help.
Neutral
neutral force powers are simple ones like mind trick and such, powers that don't call on any specific side of the force but just manipulation of it on a small level.
(More rules coming soon...as soon as I figure out what I'm doing.)
